Thank you for introducing us to another amazing cat. I love Feline Friday. One of my previously feral kitties was hit by a car and had a fractured leg. It was surgically repaired and she had to spend 10 weeks in a crate in our family room. She is now doing great but has been forced into being a house cat like yours was. She was mad at us for awhile but finally gave up and enjoys the run of the house now.
Here she is in recovery. Her name is Dusty but the Vet’s clinic thought I said Dudsy. So on her X-ray it said Dudsy Jones....it caught on and seems to be her name
It's a good story, and you're a good person for caring. Thanks for telling Charlie's story, and for giving him a great life and fantastic ending. Also, thanks for taking pictures. It all fit perfectly.
We can all take heart that we will see our los pets as they will be awaiting us at the rainbow bridge upon
our demise. As I age I look forward to seeing Butterscotch, Skipper, Girard, Weasel, and Bobo. I am hoping my orange friend Sammy Sanchez the Ring-tailed Red Cat outlasts me. My love forthese friends never wavered and never will.
Quite a story, TC. Charlie was lucky to find you and Jurate. That child was indeed compassionate beyond his years, probably due to his own insecure life world. He wanted better for Charlie!
( Do you have photo archives for each of your many felines? Great pictures, by the way.)
Charlie won me. I don't favor being adopted, but I would be happy to have Charlie in charge. First, I looked at the pictures in THE CAT WHO ADOPTED ME. Charlie was not as well groomed as the kitties before him, so I was curious and decided to read. Charlie got along. He was with you and Jurate for a long time. A homey cat, Charlie was a dear one.
Great cat story - Charlie sounds like a great "guy" - quite a life!
Tonia (former name) still staying in the bedroom, FINALLY saw her eat some can food this am and again tonight. Not much, but considering she weighed 13.5 lbs when she was surrendered a week and a half ago & she doesnt look or feel like shes melting away - I think eventually she will be ok. Axel (dog) & I go in and sit near her several times a day & I go check on her often. She still sleeps in the carrier but stays during the day next to the litter box. She has no objection at all to being petted & skritched - likes her belly rubbed! But not venturing anywhere yet. I'll keep updating you.
TC, what a sweet, sweet story. Charlie sounds like an awesome cat. For sure, he was a beautiful cat. Animals come into our lives, and they adopt us. There's an animal rescue bumper sticker that says, "Who rescued who?"
How lucky you were that Charlie adopted you. He was also a pretty lucky kitty.
What a great story! We've never had a cat, but we are currently owned by Pixie, an 8 pound chihuahua who went by the name of "Kitten" until we adopted her. On the strength of that name, may we please be allowed into the brotherhood of cat lovers? 💕
Hope we’e in the brotherhood with a 10 # canine mix, Nate. Hope it’s a + he doesn’t chase cats. Although birds, squirrels and slow moving manatees( at 14,his best bet to “catch” )are game !
Wonderful cat chat with beautiful pictures. I have always had a single cat. Precious Penelope is the third one. The other two lived with me for 21 and 20 years. Thank you, TC.
My childhood cat was named shenanigan and he went out every night even though he was neutered. This was in chicago. At least there were no coyotes there. I used his name as a password for years. He lived to be 22 years old.
The stories you share on Fabulous Feline Fridays are almost enough to make me want to welcome a cat into my life but I'm a dog person so it's not gonna happen. That being said, I do very much enjoy your cat-tales because they are so clearly written with love and we all need love coming at us from any source available.
What a beautiful boy. And a lucky boy. Such tender loving care for a needy soul. I “stole” my beautiful boy from a neighbor who was moving. He had already decided that he liked our house better, so was happy when they didn’t want to take him. They bless us with their gratitude

Yes I do, actually.
I do too. Booklet with pic and characteristics of each. Personalities are so different…

That's because he was Mr. Fluffy
Yes, part of Charlie's appeal; he was a Fluffy Softie.

Actually the button does work, but to see it you may have to hit page refresh - it's a "Substack thing"
"@#$%$#@!! VCA Inc." Indeed! Looooooove Feline Fridays - better than happy hours. Oh wait, they are happy hours. I hope the boy is OK.
