Indoors only. We have coyotes in the neighborhood on occasion. Five years ago Ginger, my wild boy, got out and I'm sure he became coyote food since they were spotted in the neighborhood the next day.
Keeping cats inside is safe for the kitties and safe for the wildlife they'll kill though they have no need to.
In my world, Sweetie is a box turtle that belongs to a woman who was a high school classmate, and now lives in Brooklyn. Sweetie being a box turtle, as well as belonging to Elise (and her husband) feels slightly incongruous to me, but I get a kick out of that incongruity. The name feels more natural on a kitty.
If you were to call the group the Fabulous Felines of Jamieson Avenue, that would sound better, at least to my fussy ears.
It's interesting to note the distinction between being a "feral" and a "stray." My Charlie Girl was a stray and when I took her to the vet after a similar "getting to know you" experience, I found out she was at least eight years old and, according to the vet, "a perfect cat." That meant she knew how to behave as a patient, was respectful to the vet, did what she was told and didn't complain about it! My vet fell in love with her. Everyone did. She was much like your Sweetie!
Some people attract critters that need a forever home, Tom is one of them. I currently have 2 sisters from same litter, different in many ways, but nevertheless sweet, mostly. Over time I have come to conclusion that if you want pet kitties, they deserve to be house kitties, too much of a big bad world out there for them and birds!
Sweetie’s lucky that she found a loving, caring home. Too many people are mean to cats and hurt or kill them. It’s sad but it’s good to know that some kitties luck out, like Sweetie.
Celebrating your 4th Coming Home Day, Sweetie! You're so lucky, like a lucky pair of dice! ❤️
TC, I'm curious... do you keep your adopted cats inside, or do you generally let them come and go? As a wannabe cat mama (again), I'm just interested.

TC, you are like a " cat whisperer"! Lucky Sweetie.
A lovely lesson on how a cat adopts a human. Happy anniversary to you and Sweetie!
