Got over to the Condor Squadron and got a big “Uh-Oh” when I saw everyone standing around Number Four out on the line.
Turns out Number Four ate a piston ring on the way back from their mid-afternoon run along the south coast beaches. Since they’re taking CBS, NBC and ABC on the next flight…
As Chris said to me “This sucks but I know you can take a ‘no’ better than they can.”
He’s right, of course. At least 70% of proposed photo hops never happen for adverse weather forecasts, somebody gets sick, an 80 year old engine decides to act up, etc. etc.
But as every aviation photographer says, “There’s always the next time.”
