Classic case of successful people who think they are therefore experts on everything. I am especially amused by the various gay couples who think they would be immune if Project 2025 comes to be.
The Nazi Party was well stocked with gays who were perfectly happy to abet the persecution of gays. The thing about the people at this level of wealth is that they’re all about separating themselves from the hoi poloi. Gay couples are a dime a dozen these days, so there’s nothing special about that particular identity. Being part of a society of kingmakers, now that’s special.
The Nazi Gays were in the SA - and were all wiped out in The Night of the Long Knives where Hitler dispensed with the storm troopers he no longer needed.
I just Googled to see if the Log Cabin Republicans still exist. They do. I couldn't believe such a thing existed back in the '80s, when the Reagan administration was ignoring HIV/AIDS (and doing plenty of other ugly stuff), but the boyfriend of a friend of mine was a top staffer for a Republican congressman and he sure wasn't the only one. Now the Log Cabins promote themselves as LGBT, but back in the day I think they were just LG -- or maybe just G, because I never knew a lesbian who belonged even though I was fairly well immersed in the lesbian community.
They were all uncool in high school. They are still uncool. They have no idea how to be popular but they crave it anyway. So they find their nerd clique and they talk themselves into thinking this is the ticket for getting popular. Goofballs all of them.
This is really quite horrifying and it’s going to take me time to process it. These appear to be androids with missing parts who should stay in their guilded cages and never let out. They definitely need to be defeated.
I was pretty shocked, too, but I kept thinking about the fact that the UAW is now in Tennessee. The earth’s axis has shifted. The money guys have no compelling message of their own to ordinary people. All they have is Trump, and he’s not aging like a fine wine. More like he’s corked. Nothing disappoints like spending the equivalent of four years of tuition at Stanford on a long sought Bordeaux and opening it to find an encrustation of sulfur on the bottom of the cork. And these guys will be shelling out a lot more than four years of tuition at Stanford. Hope that helps.
Reading about Trump in court, and looking at photos where he looks terrible, I can't help thinking he's going to come out of this a shell of his former self.
I tried to give y multiple likes on that one but it’s a strictly binary function. First click = like, second click = unlike. But thanks for the chuckle.
Tom brought it up. I just riffed on it. Lots of money. Makes sense on some level. When I was involved there in the late 80s-mid 90s, it wasn't apparent, but times change.
I don’t disagree with Trevor Traina, but I also don’t think he thinks. I also don’t think you have to like someone to vote for them. I do however think you should be able to value their integrity, trustworthiness, honesty, work ethic, role fidelity, honesty - did I mention honesty? their track record and experience, etc., etc.
I value the symbolism of the pink triangle enormously. There is no stronger reminder. Sure, the rainbow flag is pretty, but it really isn’t and wasn’t about being pretty. I find the pink triangle is the one to really start the difficult, needed conversations.
I don't like your anit-gay remarks. While I am and always have been hetero sexual, I strongly believe that the choice of who one loves is their own business and no one else's. Otherwise I appreciate the post and cross-post, I am sorry, but not surprised to learn so many Silicon Valley techno-snobs are propping up trump. but thinking about it, I shouldn't be. People who made their fortunes by designing a program, especially one that doesn't work, going public, raking in millions, deposited offshore and getting away with declaring bankrupcty would esteem another con artist like themselves.
It's not anti-gay - I was pointing out that they think their wealth makes them immune to the homophobes of MAGA. It will be surprising to them when they find out their money doesn't buy what they think it does.
This entire panorama of disgusting cowardly noxious fundamentally anti-American anti-democratic hustlers and sycophants makes me think a serious counter response with wide exposure is necessary, and soon. They all want security, wealth protection and power. We need to give them Los Alamos levels of exposure and an occasional pitchfork.
why, beyond tax breaks, do these folks think a trump regime would be good for them? It's going to go beyond pink triangles--any tech person whose company displeases trump in anyway is going to find itself in the retribution crosshairs.

Hey there, I happen to like goofballs!
Not all bullies have muscles. Some run their mouth and their wallet.

We can only hope!
Are we speaking of the IMRU handshake here? Do they have the hot new AI spanking lady in their basements?

It's really SillyCONE valley. These boys have way too much time on their hands.
JD Vance as VP. Just what the country would need.
How long do think Trump would last as pres?
I'm no Thiel fan, but if he's
half as smart as purported,
he'll sit this one out too.
SillyCon Valley
I like your approach.

Thank you for the clarification TC. I am much relieved.
Gays have a long history of being our own worst enemies.
Unfortunately too true.

Excellent ideas!

They think all the regulation Elizabeth Warren wants to impose on them will not happen and they will be free to continue wreaking havoc.
seems to me that much of that won't happen anyway.
Thank you for that, Jim. Help it did😊 And it was beautifully said.
