This is perfect. If there's anything that Dump or any of his ilk can neither abide nor survive, it's being laughed at by a woman.

And it isn't just the laugh, it isn't mocking or sarcastic... it is genuine, full-loving-life joy! This leaves them dumbfounded.

I love Kamala's laugh. It's a joyful sound.

I knew nothing about this Kamala laughs too much nonsense until a few days ago when I posted my enthusiastic support of her candidacy. A man replied with distain about giggling Kamala. I told him he was embarrassing himself with such a sexist comment. A moment later a woman stepped in to say she agreed with him. And all I could think is Hillary, here we go again. But, this will have a very different ending. This time we will get both the popular and electoral vote. Laughter will fill our conversations once again.

I love her joy. For the first time in a long time, I feel joy. My response to anyone critizing Kamala is "then vote for the fat felon". I'm old enough to remember the separate water fountains for people of color. It's Mississippi Burning all over again.

What I remember most about the separate water fountains was the inequality between them. The “colored” fountains in the Tampa area in 1960 were the basic ceramic bowl with cold tap water, like we had in my elementary school in Pittsburgh. The “white” fountains were the refrigerated boxes dispensing chilled water. As a newbie from the north, I was gently chastised for using the wrong fountain. Had I been black, I doubt there would have been as gentle a correction.

Moving from California to Texas as a child was an adjustment. The theater was even segregated. Whites sat downstairs and Blacks sat upstairs. It was all so stupid. I made a friend, who was Black, and I wanted to buy her a soda after school at Woolworth's. She told me she wasn't allowed to sit there. My mother was a waitress at a local restaurant, and when the civil rights movement began, three black men in suits came in and sat at a table. My mother immediately got them menus and asked how she could help them. It was a proud moment for her. She hated racism. Maga represents those separate water fountains. Their red Maga caps are no more than klan hoods.

Actually, the comparison comment I most liked about the red MAGA caps with the “make America great again” embroidered above the brim is to the line in Revelations: “And they shall wear the mark of the beast upon their foreheads.” Not bad for a description almost 2000 years before the invention of baseball caps.

"Giggling" isn't what she does, anyway. She shares her view of what she finds humorous by laughing with eyes full of humor and her facial muscles engaged in a way that signals good nature. The use of the term "giggle" which BTW I'm not knocking - a good giggle is mischievous and conveys a bit of subversiveness - is intended to convey an infant character which is also used too often to demean women and keep them in a dependent status.

Fine. Let the R's be the Dour Party. Most conservatives are humorless drones anyway.

I'm coming to love Kamala Harris's humanity. Joe Biden knew exactly what he was doing when he picked her for #2 because she gives that same caring energy that he does.

Men don't like to hear women laughing because they're afraid we're laughing at them. And a lot of the time they're right. P.S. My malamute and I are very relieved to see our next president with a dog in her arms. We've been worried about this "cat lady" thing.

I think it was Margaret Atwood who said that men were afraid that women would laugh at them, and women were afraid that men would kill them.

I have never in my 73 years heard anyone suggest that laughing was disgusting for either men or women. That is the most ridiculous, narrow minded, and nonsensical criticism I have ever heard. Coming from a total nut case like DT and his hairy faced sidekick this is beyond absurd.

I am floored by this. What a joyless bunch of pizaricks. My mother used to have this to say about people like that: “life is earnest. Life is real. And the grave is but the goal.” Lord deliver us from dictators and religious zealots. SOON🙃Better yet, let’s vote them out of existence.NOW😊

I had no idea that women laughing joyously in public is seen by so many as frighteningly disgusting. I guess I had a privileged upbringing surrounded by women and men who openly laughed a lot together. This article has been very informative and I am consequently rethinking many experiences of social shutdown in my past that I may have misinterpreted.

Thanks. Tom. You and other real men, allow women to be themselves. Weak men, are actually fearful of intelligent women and will always look for ways to denigrate the other gender. I wonder what kind of mothers they had. Domineering or docile?

The answer to the question "yes... but where do you *really* come from?" that I get asked either directly or silently now has a good answer. "From where Kamala Harris *really* comes from!" GO KAMALA! Laugh all the way to the WH and the h*ll with the stupid men who cannot deal with a happy confident woman!
