The western democracies need to support Ukraine with all of the military and economic aid needed for the Ukrainians to defeat Russia and drive the Russians from every inch of Ukraine's pre 2014 territory. Russia's frozen assets should be used to help rebuild Ukraine and no sanctions should be lifted until the rebuilding is done.

Fucking Putin is as relentless as Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler. He needs to be taken out. The best way is for a unified NATO and the addition of other countries balancing power and standing up to this motherfucker.. It is totally unfair to blame Biden when he has busted his ass to unify NATO and bring Europe together after that fucking asshole traitor trump did everything but offer A blowjob to Putin to attack the former eastern bloc. Somebody, somewhere must stand steadfastly with Ukraine.

Cause if you thought Citizen X's article in Foreign Affairs magazine in the 50's was a scare tactic to promote the domino theory, hang on. The cold war is officially over but Putin's plan is to gobble up and recreate the eastern bloc. This has to stop now. Cause the future isn't so bright if he takes a fucking inch.

This shit is the real deal

One counter-ploy for the Ukrainians would be accept a ceasefire in principle -- provided Russia forks over reparations for the damage to Ukrainian cities and towns, etc. And the West would continue sanctions until Russia paid up. "Peace" terms don't usually come with poison pills, but perhaps diplomats can learn from Wall Street.

Crush the shirtless no-wonder. His rhetoric is no different than the current Republicans that spin their bullsh*t into a web that would embarrass any spider. To me, President Biden leaning in for Ukrainian victory on the eastern Ukrainian steppe is giving “check” for a “checkmate” by President Zelenskyy. Ride into the sunset, Putin. And please, please, please take Tuckems sunning his balls with red light and calling for more American testosterone with you.

I think you are right TC. I was thinking the other day: Oh, this is just the first Ukraine war. Then comes the second, like in Chechnya; when Trump is back in the White House, and EU is falling apart again with traitors as Hungary, and a whole bunch of cowards. Poland may be more hesitant on the way to authoritarianism, now that it is evident they would be swallowed up by Russia again.

Putin announced victory in Mariupol, then muttered something about it being too much trouble to clear the rubble to let people (Ukranian civilians) out of the steel plant where they are sheltered ( and starving). I have another thought for what should happen on his May 9th DEADline.

" The Russian forces need to be defeated if there is going to be any progress from all of this. The western “unity” that Biden lauds is only “unitary” if Putin is not allowed to play any games. And the only way that happens is through an obvious defeat on the eastern Ukrainian steppe this next month." Absolutely correct.

Not only need but must be defeated, regardless of what Putin says about "victory". No one wants a nuclear exchange with a madman or anyone, but right now Putin is managing to hold the western alliance hostage with the threat of such a disaster as well as basing nuclear weapons in any territory he is allowed to hold on to. From the beginning the invasion has been labeled as, and is a war crime. Putin has no scruples other than his own need to keep his wealth and the only way to do that is to stay in power. Moldavia is now in Putin's line of sight. Not to mention the "break away" regions of Georgia. It is important to believe what it is Putin has said, says today, and continues to say and believe about his goals. He intends to be the next "Peter the Great" who was a tyrant. The west should not back down in any way. However it seems also true that providing weapons and logistics, as significant as these things are, staffing the sidelines will not stop Putin or his crowd or offer a satisfying way to bring justice or closure to this crime against the Ukrainians and humanity as a whole. The Moskva is not the only thing that should sink in the sea at this point.

Good point! Thanks for this.

If I, having absolutely zero knowledge of military strategy, could come to the same conclusion you have about the fake "victory" and its association with May 9th, I hope and pray that the military minds and strategists in Ukraine, here and in NATO are far wiser than the botoxed brain of putrid Putin, whose only "strategy" - if you can call it that - is to murder and maim.

Unfortunately, the Azov battalion is a neo-Nazi organization, along with some other white supremacist/neo-Nazi organizations in Ukraine, according to The Nation:

I was surprised and disheartened to find out about this. It doesn't justify the Russian invasion of Ukraine or any of the atrocities committed by the Russian army, but we should be clear-eyed about Ukraine.
