For more on Pence’s security team’s distrust of the trump secret service ‘Gestapo’ read

Another Substack contributor Adam from Civil WarII has an extensive newsletter on the failure of the secret service guarding trump to remain apolitical, especially the infamous Tony ornato.

https://civilwarii.substack.com/p/there-is-no-indication-of-civil-disobedience?utm_source=email

A quote from the newsletter:

From The Washington Post’s excerpt of Carol Leonnig’s and Phil Rucker’s book:

Around this time, Kellogg ran into Tony Ornato in the West Wing. Ornato, who oversaw Secret Service movements, told him that Pence’s detail was planning to move the vice president to Joint Base Andrews.

“You can’t do that, Tony,” Kellogg said. “Leave him where he’s at. He’s got a job to do. I know you guys too well. You’ll fly him to Alaska if you have a chance. Don’t do it.”

Kellogg is a highly decorated retired Army Lt General serving as Pence’s security advisor. Tragic that someone with the Kellogg’s distinguished and highly decorated military career could not understand that trump was a maniacal, amoral dictator wanna be!

Grassley is up for re-election. Like so many of these scoundrels, he and they all 147 plus should be turned out of office and never allowed to run for office again! If any of you receive Jamelle Bouie's newsletters, his latest one suggests some current books he's reading that focus on the situation of the court - no longer supreme if it ever was - but for now certainly a linchpin in pushing the nation into a one party Fascist state. The hearings will be explosive this week for sure. I sense the secret service has problems in the ranks with partisan hacks. Pence is no hero but at least he stayed in place and did not let his security detail whisk him away to God only knows where.

Drat. At 1030 am, Tuesday, NASA will release, live, the first five pictures from the James Webb Telescope of the Comos. Expected to shock our socks off. Oh, the conflicts we deal with. One of cosmic proportion while another of Trump’s perfidities. Popcorn and innuendo for me, for sure.

This has been a very busy weekend for me, once I got in gear on Saturday afternoon. I was going to respond to the “won’t need a mob in 2024” entry and saw this new popcorn one. So I’m behind.

Two things…after all the facts revealed, if trump were to be even nominated let alone elected again, I think the mob would be all of us in a scenario that defeated him but our votes ended up not counting. But… I’ve felt the threat of it but not that it will be the reality to be honest. He’s scum scraped from the top of the pond and there’s a lot to see underneath. It’s even amazing to the pollyannish sliver of my personality how Light is filling the cracks of darkness. Rapidly.

Other thing is something I talked to Ally about on the other forum. I’ve been waiting for enough to be dug up from the Jan 6th committee to confirm something to me that I’ve perilously thought since that day and night of January 6th. And when I heard about his fractious tantrum in the Suburban, it made me think about it again. I believe Trump’s personal narcissistic goal was for the entire cast, Bannon and all the pieces of trash, to orchestrate the scene so king Trump could declare martial law. Such chaos and death and injury to many as mere collateral, maybe even hanging or kidnapping Pence…that martial law would be declared and slates of electors sent back to states ready to do their part in orchestration giving Trump the presidency for another term.

I believe the account of the tantrum in the Suburban. I think that marked the beginning of the end of the plot. He didn’t go to the Capitol. He sat instead in a room throwing dishes at the wall fuming that he wasn’t there to direct his part of the action. That and somehow intel that got to Pence ordering him not to get in any damn car as he was hidden “temporarily in the garage.

That’s the thing about a coup. Perhaps I’m wrong because I’ve never been military but I’ve seen a coup at other political levels before. No matter the planning, something can go wrong when corruption is at the heart of the planning.

Thank you, TC, for your writing this weekend. Lucien Truscott and Hubbell and others have been on fire also. I’m so appreciative that journalism has somehow found a way of the Light. I feel informed and much stronger for it.

Popcorn ready.

Unidad! 🗽

it's gonna be goooood because those fascist paramilitary whatevers are, basically, a bunch of cowardly morons, most of whom (I assume) have all turned on each other and The Boss. and I'll say again that Ginni Thomas at no point ever actually considered testifying. if she'd done so and listened to her attorney, she would have had to take the Fifth a whole bunch of times and, while no one is "supposed" to infer guilt because someone takes the Fifth, it's definitely a bad look for the wife of a SCOTUS member. not that either one of them particularly gives a fuck, but it would certainly destroy whatever semblance of respect may still be out there for that blighted body.

The other "tell" when news gets bad for 45 is when "Hunter Biden" trends on Twitter. The old one-note ponies can't think of any other distractors, it seems. It's practically turning into Kabuki theatre.

“What is definitely going to come out on Tuesday is the role of the fascist paramilitary leadership of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, and their connection to the upper reaches of Conspiracy Management, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Trump Organization, LLC.”

🍿 🍿 I, most certainly, hope so, TC! 🍿 🍿

From The Guardian newspaper (UK), https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/jul/10/steve-bannon-discussions-january-6-committee-capitol-attack.

Bannon opens discussions to appear before Jan6 committee! Bannon lives by dangling a carrot while having no intentions of doing what is right for our country! He always acts to further the country he wants to create, authoritarian rules!

So incestuous....Ledeen, G.Thomas, etc. The dots are all getting connected! Did the Committee interview Grassley already?

Thanks TCinLA. This is going to be a real potboiler and more! The nitty gritty of who/what/where is now in play. The rats are leaving the ship, it seems as people sign up to testify to the committee. TC, I love your phrase Conspiracy Management, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Trump Organization, LLC. Peace and Courage! We the People!
