Good story and a great shot of Ted Lieu. Want to bet on GOP defections tomorrow?

This comedy noir featured a film clip of trump dropping banana peels for his candidates as they run after him. The comedy transmogrified to tragedy, when the lead, Widdle Quevin, suffered one defeat after another. Unexpectedly, the show ended with a cliffhanger. Will the ammo dump, surrounded by Republican representatives, explode or not? Stay turned, and don't forget audience members to get your 'free' bag of popcorn given out by Democrat, Ted Lieu.

I was shocked when Carl Hulse of The New York Times, who has spent years claiming that there were bipartisan republicans out there, did a news analysis that basically climbed up one side and down the other of #KremlinKevin, the Bakersfield Benedict Arnold without the physical courage and known servicer of the financial and sexual desires of Lev Parnas. It sure hurts when bad things happen to good people. Strike that. Reverse it.

"Bakersfield Benedict Arnold" - I like that.

A friend pointed out that Arnold was a superb soldier, so I added the part about lacking his courage.

The US is set to go, but the originalists haven't invented the wheel yet, so they have to be dragged along.

'The US is set to go...' where, Olof? As a citizen I am eager to know.

Well, I was first out to branding 'originalist' in an understandable image.

Adam Tooze, had some points today on the matter: US investments, rising income gap, and a reminder of an earlier article of his: 1917 was not only about the Russian revolution, but also about the US taking the lead in world economy, which it has kept, so far.

I would say, taking the lead in world economy based on fossil fuels, and maybe 'set to go' to acknowledge the implications of that.

Thank you for your explanation, Olof . When raising the issue of 'Originalism' we are generally addressing one of the five sources that have guided the interpretation of the Constitution. It is a matter of jurisprudence, (the theory and philosophy of law) and there is disagreement about which sources are most appropriate. I sought clarification from you because the most serious turmoil and foremost danger to the US at this time stems from attempts at insurrection. Our attention has been concentrated on right-wing extremists, considered by some experts to be fascistic, determined to destroy the federal government/democracy for their own personal gain. Insurrectionists are not 'originalists'. I simply sought to understand which of these two areas you were commenting on.

As we say in Hawaii when someone embarrasses themselves big time, “Ho, brah! Make ass, eh!” So much for McCarthy, part duh. He got showed up much like Tail Gunner Joe and hopefully his political career will fade just as quickly now. Ted Lieu got the right idea, so I need to get some microwave popcorn ASAP for tomorrow’s debacle…

Please tell Kevin No Balls McCarthy that when you lose four time you are a loser. Nothing will change that!

What irks me is that these Repug, NON-leaders, obstructive seditionists are making money hand-over-fist with their positions in government. They are unscrupulous, corrupt deviants pandering to their wealthy backers as they divide the country. AND they are eligible for federal health benefits at the best military medical centers. Their itinerary is to bully and spread venom. And welcoming Putin’s agent, George Santos, into the fold is the latest proof that the RNC is a crime syndicate; the Billionaire Puppet Masters include fascist traitors and Russian mobsters.

Democrats. Political unity? Sinema. Manchin. It’s mediocrity and hypocrisy versus unbridled pointless stupidity and rage.
