How do military people so easily forget that Trump called them “suckers and losers” and that he claimed “bone spurs” to keep from serving? They need to be reminded of those words at every opportunity! His big birthday military parade is such a farce! Will he have troops goose-stepping next?

One reporter claimed the troops behind POTASS were handpicked magas. But Tom made a good point, that the all volunteer military draws from red states, and I'd add that it's due to there being so little opportunity there. I always point out that the military that won WWII were mostly draftees, those who wanted to get the job DONE and go home. Whole different mindset.

What is strong enough to lift a tank out of a sinkhole?

A Tank Retriever - which is larger and heavier than the Abrams tank, so it would cause more problems trying to solve the problem.

The major problem in downtown with the Marines bedding down in the City of Angels is whether to the Marines should sleep in the Lobby or in the spacious basement of a downtown L.A. building.

Wednesday Update:

********************

The Trump Defendants timely filed their Opposition to Caliornia's Complaint for Injunctive Relief. Defendants' Opposition In the first full sentence of Section III of the Opposition are aware the court will GRANT an injunction tomorrow and already asking for stay of the injunction in their Opposition papers.

At minimum, Trump is asking for a seven (7) day "administrative stay" so they can continue flailing around at the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals & beyond.

********************

Now the Good Stuff:

Where was the case filed? Interestingly, the case was NOT filed in the expected Central District of California. ROB BONTA The federal case, 3-25-cv-04870, on 6/9/25 federal building, 17th Floor, Department 6 in San Francisco.

Department 6? Hey I know that Judge. Dept 6 is the Courtroom of a Judge's Judge, the Hon. CHARLES R. BREYER. Yes, Charles' brother was also federal Judge . You may recall his brother served as a JUSTICE ON SCOTUS years ago & retired.

That development giveS this 4th generation Californian & Commenter a surge of pride because THE very smart Judge CHARLES R. BREYER is the last federal Judge I appeared before the last time I had a federal case in the Northern District Division.

********

Hang on ... let me take a look 👀 at Breyer's court docket in Newsom's case CA's case.

Yup, that's the Judge Breyer I know ⚡️.

Trump & Clowns must file a response today, Wednesday June 11, 2025. And, the court hearing is already set for Thursday 6/12 at 1:30 PM Pacific about 23 hours from now 🕜.

Judge Breyer will pack the record with admissible evidence. I will not have a transcript of the hearing right away, so I have politely asked MSNBC's LISA RUBIN to attend the hearing. Lisa always reads the courtroom, the players & the Judge & reports accurately.

HEARING goes ib 21 Hours.

Go Lisa. Go Rob Bonta, Go Judge.

Adios Wreck.

Better News & the correct Link from Professor Vance. See, the Professor's post today: "Cameras in he Courts? Answer. YES, film today not at 11 but, at 1:30 PM.

Each topic takes one’s breath away… thank you as always. So many strong and healthy <Substack> voices speaking truth, timely truth, to counterbalance the lies, “alternative facts” and false narratives that cascade relentlessly.

I’ll rephrase because the word “cascade” brings sublime, life giving H2O images to mind — waterfalls, lofty and slim, or whitewater tumbling over broad shelves of multiple uneven ledges. Flood the zone? Onslaught! That’s a good term.

Late September 2024 you reposted (I believe) an eloquent obituary telling us Kris Kristofferson had passed. This morning’s news carried another significant story, a 17 minute listen, rich with the chronology of Beach Boys music. I see much to explore going forward, the complexity of it all. Brian Wilson has passed at 82.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/obituaries/2025/06/11/beach-boys-founder-brian-wilson-dead/

Fun stuff as my grandmother lived in Inglewood before moving to Hermosa Beach. El Camino College is where I took a German intensive class, planning an escape to a campus overseas, only to have my path adjusted with a change in college venues - a good change.

Junior year of high school, in El Segundo, Linda Sperry and I co-chaired decorating for the Senior prom. I heard tell that Linda married one of the original Beach Boys, but never followed up on the story. I think of Donny Hathaway, Jaco Pastorius… Jonathan Winters…… Other names are hanging out in my mind, but I’ll stop there. it just seems like brilliance and genius are often paired with living outside the box to the point that life is shortened or at least greatly altered…

The story told in the obituary is both wrenching and beautiful, all at once. Anyway… It may be you’re planning a separate post — maybe not. It’s news on a different thread and there are so many threads these days, it’s hard to keep track, but we must. We must notice the main ones and maintain fierce focus.

Saturday, friends and I are in segment three of the 7X7K NoKings demonstration spanning 7 miles from Palo Alto to Sunnyvale, 7K participants planned. We stand with signs… It’s not a march… Saturday cometh. NO KINGS sign plus Stars and Stripes in the ready!

I’ve saved and plan to study recent posts of smart guidelines for nonviolent, peaceful demonstrations.

Every once in a while I see some well meaning dunce commenting in social media that they hope the military take Trump out. Not only is that unconstitutional and equally destructive of democracy, it completely misunderstands who the soldiers are. So dumb.

Honestly this morning I was wondering what precautions they were taking in that regard. Certainly vetting the soldiers for MAGA loyalty. Wondering if they are spiking the guns and cannons.

Thanks for the loving kitty pics, we need to remember unconditional love, since hate is ascendant recently. I, too, am flumfloxed by any military type supporting someone who is such a coward and disparages them at every opportunity. Sort of like professed Christians adoring the epitome of evil. But, as we should all know, propaganda works. Especially on cult nuts and power hungry evil bastards.

Of course muskrat “regrets.” He has zip courage, and blackmail is mighty effective. He could just see his”richest man in the world” title slipping away. His “smartest man in the world” title is long gone.

Hearing reports of heavy rain for Saturday. I will do my part in the streets. In the mail. On the phone. And on this keyboard while thinking of it as a controller of drones bearing warning leaflets.

I will not watch the parade because all that artillery and all those boots make for a very big target and I don't want anything to happen to the troops. All others are on their own.

Yes, Trump mocks the military every chance he gets.I don't understand the loyalty here when there is none from this draft dodging Commander-in-Chief. I read earlier today on Heather Cox Richardson's Letters that Trump had those Ft Bragg soldiers hand-picked for that rally based on allegiance and appearance. "No fat soldiers" was a pre-requisite and is another example of Trump's mockery of our men and women in uniform. smfh
