Interrupting midstream while listening to today’s post - multitasking to get to a Tesla takedown while coordinating with friends… So you speak about Robert De Niro and I’ll say, recently watched the Netflix miniseries Zero Day, where De Niro plays President brought out of retirement to address a crisis that struck me as all too possible. That aside, the plot was complicated, but my point is, at some point someone commented, “Don’t you wish someone like that could really be our president?” On occasion, his visage resembled, I thought, that of FDR. The character himself? Just sayin’. In the end, his choice was Truth or saving face and protecting privacy… I’ll leave it to you to watch, if that intrigues you. Netflix also publishes a tell-all newsletter - TUDUM - examining miniseries in depth, not just Zero Day, but there’s one on The Residence, another superb production, in my view, and probably there are many more… Only hit my radar recently.

I believe De Niro co-produced Zero Day. Highly recommend.

Did the kitties like it? Predictable lap time, at least… :-)

It was good lap time, but the kitties only like watching the National Geographic Channel. I have some great pics of them watching and quite involved. I will see if Tom will post a few of them.

That’s amazing… National Geographic! I don’t have my own kitty(-ies) right now because my life is kind of all over the map, home needing lots of repair and akin to an archaeological dig of accumulated belongings because of my husband‘s illness… He passed in 12/22… And grandson we raised is now in college, left a ton of stuff behind… I would be neglectful of a furry friend. But I am Aunt Kathie to a friend’s kitty who is so so sweet, and I housesit, take care of the garden and the kitty, so today when Tom offered that people might send pics of their own cats or other, I looked at a few Petra pics thinking I might ask Carol‘s permission to submit a few. If I send several, he could make a choice if he used one. Little Turtle captured my heart, photo published the other day. I’m always an eager viewer of YouTube reels that show kitties doing the most amazing things. “Kitty Fix!”

You know the Hubbells. Tomorrow 4-5p.m.PDT Rob is chairing an online event about climate change and one of the three scientists on the panel is a good good friend who lives across the street and up the hill. It will be fun to find out how that connection happened, although I think years ago when Rob asked us to send him info on organizations fighting climate change, I’m pretty sure I sent him her name and the name of her organization… Small world, in some respects.

Springsteen no doubt feels like most decent Americans that apologies for the US's bad choices must be offered at the beginning of any public contacts. It's the only way to assure others that he is a man of goodwill and not like the Trump troglodytes that are currently running the country into the ground. Same with DeNiro.

As for the White elephant hand-me-down* gift Qatar unloaded on 47, it's fine with me but not one taxpayer penny may be used to hangar, debug, disinfect, or retrofit it. And no jet fuel or pilot services either. Have the nose candy progeny learn to fly it, which would give him something useful to do.

Trump will be known on the world stage as Second-Hand Shitbird. I am tempted to start sending him items from the Goodwill store. Inside my fantasy he would be deluged with second hand items people can't get rid of even after a yard sale. Dump on Trump. If we could all send him an oddball thing during the same week, something like an auto pen which would be nothing more than a pen with a matchbox car glued to it., wouldn't that send him into fits of ALL CAPS????!!!!!! (This is why they'll never let me run the DNC or even the local Friends of the Library.)

"But try explaining to Dimbulb that having the Biggest Fucking Plane - which he thinks is a terrific thing - makes you the biggest fucking target." Better not to explain anything and just let him fly in it a couple of times.

Go easy on Mormons; Mike Lee is an a**, but that hasn't as much to do with his religion as with his position as the runt of the family litter. I worked for Marriott hotels for a long time and Bill Marriott and his dad were as good as human beings get to work for and to set standards for their senior managers.

I’ll just reiterate David Frum’s comment. But I don’t have any mixed emotions. When idiot MAGAts accuse people of having Trump derangement Syndrome (TDS), I am proud to have it. They accuse someone with TDS of never having a good thing to say about him. Yep, that’s me. If he has ever done one honorable thing, it is the best kept secret in our history. TDS has one cause. But it has a reverse effect on Repubs. Causes spine damage, brain damage, word salad, greed, delusions, hypocrisy, and illusions of governmental competence. This mutation must be defeated. And us With TDS have the challenge to do just that…

From the Dept of Lost In the Firehose of News and People Need To Know !! Another nasty tidbit in the House budget bill that needs 📣.

Repubs are pushing to repeal $200 tax on gun silencers. One House Republican has commented this is about “making sure people don’t lose their hearing.”

Included in calls to my MAGAs 📲 yesterday and wrote Letter To Ed in Orlando and Tallahassee where most recent tragic shooting occurred.

Obviously Trump learned nothing from being shot at, so the NRA money for his campaign, Russian money funneled through the NRA last year, must have been adequate to help with all the GOP elections. Mass shootings have become so commonplace and normalized that I wonder why Fanduel and other betting outfits are holding back in setting odds for time, place, and number of victims.

Same with the alleged stalker at his Florida golf course the Secret Service nabbed. It’s been crickets since he was caught and he’s become invisible, with no media coverage, no new updates on his past life or his present status such as there was with Oswald, or Hinckley, Fromme, or any other assassin. Just like a ghost, he’s gone off the radar.

And he was apprehended OUTSIDE the Golf Course. That is not an "attempt".

It was a story that dried out in the sunlight because even among the magas there was no sustained outrage or expressed concern. And the rallies didn't stop, just the media appointments where whatever he had to say would be scrutinized. How many people could even recall the name of the youth on the roof?

Thank you for being the voice of sanity on this! This was the furthest thing an “assassination attempt” there are so many holes and unexplained security, missteps.. and that stupid ear injury that miraculously healed in three days? And the photo op for him to raise a fist and yell fight? And the MSM went along with it all.

He just wanted to put himself once step closer to Jesus in the minds of the Evangelicals.
