As angry as some of the things we face makes me, Cary and Phantom manage to take it all away.

That said:

Econ 101; it's much more likely that the concern over the stability of the dollar relates to $4.5 trillion in additional debt likely to be incurred if the budget bill currently under 'discussion' passes as it stands today. The easy and obvious cure for the situation is to allow the 2017 tax cuts to lapse and restore funding and personnel to the IRS enforcement operations that would help collect the multiple billions currently not being paid when owed.

"is so fucking stupid someone must be telling him to breathe." Do you suppose we could persuade them to stop?

Ms. Wilkinson is correct in her statement "“I find that Donald J. Trump was acting within the scope of his office or employment at the time of the incidents out of which the plaintiff’s claims arose.”" because at the time (1995 or 1996) Felon47 was a private citizen and had nothing legal to do with government. That the statement is completely disingenuous should provide embarrassment to her law school and any faculty members who supported the conferral of a degree.

What ALL of us have to do, including Democrats and media, is to yell as loud as possible, this is about DUE PROCESS! Ted Bundy got due process. Charlie Manson and his crew got due process. Hell, Trump got due process. DUE PROCESS!

BREAKING & OFF TOPIC: Saturday, 1 am SCOTUS Order Halts Deportations!

****************************************************************************

Per SIMON ROSENBERG at 'Hopium Chronicles' at 1 AM very early this morning, 60 minutes after midnight, SCOTUS 7-2 ordered a HALT to any further deportations any further flights to CECOT, El Salvador or anywhere else.

The SCOTUS Roberts Court Order was unsigned which is typical in emergency SCOTUS applications much like death penalty cases.

Here is the SCOTUS Order verbatim:

*** "The government [Trump & Steve Miller] is directed not to remove any member of the putative class of detainees until further order of this court." ***

Noted the Words: " ... until further order of this court" which in practical effect a STAY!

I am quite excited about this. I never dreamed that the supremes would come to the aid of the people. Is there hope?

OK to be excited but, it is the very same Roberts court that required the complicated procedure that makes getting relief virtually impossible.

Meanwhile, Trump, Steve Miller & Pat Bondi were sticking a waiver in front of the Sunday deportees to get them to essentially waive their due process rights.

Even if signed, such a purported waiver would be unenforceable anyway. I assume that point was made in "black letter law" in the emergency application last night.

See my comment above for the verbatim text of the order.

Saturday Update:

The government is forum & airport shopping with human beings lives at risk.

NBC News this Saturday afternoon identified Eduardo Maldonado Rall as a person that was going to be deported on Sunday.

Outside the "Bluebonnet Detention Center, NBC's Vaughn Hilyard interviewed Maldonado Rall's wife who said her husband has never been charged or convicted of any crime.

In Florida under a new crazy law, an American Citizen was charged with "entering Florida" which is where he lives as a U.S. citizen. The 20 year old was forced prove up his U.S. citizenship at a FL court hearing wherein his mother brought his FL Identification card & birth certificate. That is all the local Judge needed to dismiss the false arrest.

What ... you need a U.S. Passport to enter Florida now? Anyway, Mom, don't leave home without her. CNN & NPR carried the story of Mr. Gomez wild ride.

About Trump, DOJ, and the EJean Carroll case — in case we forgot, nearly 2 years ago, DOJ declared that Trump was not acting within the scope of his duties when he defamed Carroll. The case proceeded to trial and is on appeal. One might think that once the DOJ has made its decision about coverage under the Westfall Act, that would be binding unless a previous decision was based on an erroneous reading of the applicable law. At some point, decisions have to become final.

I'm sure Pam Blondie will tell you that the previous decision was based on an erroneous reading of the law.

No doubt, but I wouldn’t trust her reading of the 3rd Amendment, let alone DC law about conduct within the scope of one’s job.

Chump is trying to whitewash every black mark. Rewriting history is his goal, his history, that is. Crap on anything else. He said in 2005 that he would never admit a mistake, he would blame somebody else. He needs “loser” tattooed on his forehead.

The Supremes voted 7-2…and who were the 2 bozos who sided with the Orange Felon? Can I get three guesses and the first two don’t count? On the fall of the dollar, I just bought something on eBay from a European outfit. Three weeks ago I ordered an item for about $120, converting from euros to dollars, now another item from the same price range is $135, so yeah, the dollar is taking a beating, thanks to Felon 34. And I received an email from a hobby supplier announcing that anything preordered coming from China and Europe will be priced significantly higher thanks to Bozo45/47’s asinine tariff wars. Resupply of kits from overseas in the future will be likely problematic. Hong Kong Mail is no longer accepting parcels for shipment to the U.S. by sea or air, also because of the ridiculous tariff kerfluffle. Are we winning yet?

Thank You Dennis M. Sienkiewicz for mentioning the SCOTUS 1 hour after Midnight Emergency Order HALTING all deportations.

When a SCOTUS Order is 7-2, the bozos are always Thomas & Alito. My understanding is a flight could have left Anton, TEXAS for El Salvador tomorrow, Sunday. Regardless, HALTED!

I cringed when I first saw the union heads smile favorably on the imposed tariffs, but over time they're seeing that not only will a trade war hurt them with car sales tumbling, but also that this administration doesn't give a good dogdarned about the working class.

Cattins look sort of discombobulated. Did they hear your post. I hope the disparate factions finally responding to

these crises can come to the aid of their country. It’s way past time. Paul Krugman’s recent post posits that we are on a financial precipice. Mainly teetering there because the morons are too stupid to know what they don’t know. Much is deliberate, much is just what happens when morons rule. Either way Vlad is singing a happy tune.

Happy that David Brooks wrote what could be a game changer. But he wrote one several years ago about chump being a soulless excuse for a human. I posted it on my Blue Sky account - jdintx.

The threatening demand letter fiasco shows the true motives of these fascists, making it easy for Harvard to remember their roots and stick their thumbs in the eyes of Trump's lackeys. But everything has a flipside with these control freaks, as they criticize Harvard for taking such anti-freedom content seriously and failing to make a phone call to see if they really meant it. In other words, can't Harvard take a joke?
