That's your best opening photo that I can remember Tom, he's so far past moronic that human language has never needed a word for the likes of him, he's so far down, that down might eventually become up. We have used language to describe all manner of things we needed to be able to communicate about. All of our standards, the ones like POS, imbecile, clown, etc. that usually work descriptively to communicate accurately, are sorely lacking in their accuracy, sure they are near by, but how do you hit the bottom of a bottomless pit? Clarity in communication is what we are all after, this is a challenge that none of us could have ever anticipated. That picture needs to be as ubiquitous as the booking photo taken in Atlanta, whenever they mention him on cable news, they need to run that image, it would make hearing about him more tolerable.

I signed up with BS a few months ago and have no clue how to use it, these Substack forums take more time than they should, I’m behind with my garden, which I rely on for my flowers, which I photograph and then make prints of. My woodworking which I really enjoy is at a standstill, there are nowhere near enough hours, even if I had staff managing them would be a full time job. And then we have the protests………🤬

Well, she wanted the lifetime stipend that's spelled out in the updated prenup, and now she has to hold him up at every official state event. They're a match made in banking heaven.

I don't feel sorry for any of the TV cabinet clucks who are visibly struggling to make sense out of Trump's tariff nonsense and his secret sauce that's going to flood the country with money. Some of it may even fall out of the overflowing pockets of the one-percenters as they contort themselves to get into their new Rolls-Royce Droptails, thereby allowing the peon class to scramble for it.

As for Marco Rubio, he's a man whose lust for power/stature has been so obvious that it made me shield the children's eyes when he was in the 2016 primary debates, but he will not be able to exhibit any competency other than carrying Trump's water. No success with Ukraine, no success with immigration problems*, no success with sweet-talking the Houthis, no success in Gaza, and probably no success with the looming problems between India and Pakistan, both of whom have nukes. Success in dealing with China is now out of reach, which is where Trump put it.

My one baby has to get "novel protein hydrolyzed for renal support." She has intestinal lymphoma and slight renal insufficiency. Her chemo is a $5 pill every two weeks and she's going strong. The bag of kibble is $75 for 6.6lbs, but it lasts months. She's worth every penny. The other 3 want to know why she gets the good stuff, so they have to dine separately.

Jeri, it truly is herding cats here! Of my four, two (the tuxedoo with cancer) and another (tabby) are best buds. The other two (a female ginger and a tortoise shell ) are both sort of loners.

They'd drive us nuts in the mornings, so we got automatice feeders--three of them. One is a double feeder, the other two were each put on separate floors (we have a trilevel with a basement). They like to switch places and shove each other out of the way, so at least this way, they all get a chance at food.

When Bitsy got her cancer, when she first came home, I had to tube feed her. By tube feed, I mean I had to puree wet food (rabbit protein, over $4 a can!) and over 30 minutes, syringe it into a tube that went through her neck into her stomach. Thankfully, after a few days, she started eating again. (Her refusal to eat and loss of 1/3 of her body weight was how she ended up at the vet and diagnosed.) The vet said she could no longer eat the food she'd been eating, as apparently it was causing IBS which, he said, can lead to the instestinal lymphoma. (it did with her) So, it is rabbit from Royal Canin. $4.30 a can! She was eating one a day, and I'd go broke feeding all of them that (but boy do they WANT IT!)

Now, with the renal issue, there is only ONE FOOD in the world that is perfect for her, which is this kibble, also from Royal Canin. It's hydrolyzed pea protein. We still give her some of the wet rabbit which she prefers. I pulverize it and add it to a little of the wet food, and do offer her the plain kibble. (I hope the little bit of the wet food is okay!) We don't want to get up at 5 am to separate them, so she goes into the basement each night (our basement is finished and nice) so she can't get into their feeders.

She used to sleep with her buddy the tabby, who is miserable. Her buddy cries at the basement door for about 20 minutes each night, and about 6 am, she's howling at the basement door to LET BITSY OUT!!

Thankfully, she doesn't eat a lot. I can't imagine if she was a huge dog what this would cost us.

I know this has gone on too long already, but a side story. When she was prescribed the kibble, I got the rx from the vet via email. I tried to go onto Chewy to order it, and she said NOBODY CARRIES IT BUT VCA HOSPITALS, and btw, IT'S BACKORDERED WORLDWIDE. !!!!! The vet didn't tell the tech about that, so I called and found out they had 3, THREE, bags of it in stock. Chewy was wonderful. They tried to find another food, and even talked to the vets at VCA, but nothing else is both a novel protein AND renal formulated.

Being a med tech, I researched where to get rabbit (like an exotic butcher, with no luck) and how to hydrolyze it if I found it. (You need high heat or, the natural route, is using enzymes. Where I'd get the enzymes or what the "high heat" meant, no idea). Thank God she goes through it slowly, and thank God Royal Canin makes it. I actually called Royal Canin, and they, too, were very nice to me. That's a long story. She's a really, really good cat. I like her more than most people. I know you get that!

Miselle, my daughter just lost her apricot Siamese she rescued over 10 years ago from a Shell gas station parking lot. Deanna had stomach cancer, but was in remission. Still had to have special food. Daughter also has one with IBS (who knew?) as well as no teeth left, who requires special food. She's now senior kitty, even though she was older than Deanna.

Sandra, you have sad news, so I don't want to "like" it.

I was very upset to find out our Bitsy had cancer, but the vet told me "if your cat has cancer, this is the one you want to have." It isn't a cure, but the treatments has a good prognosis.

She had to have surgery for biopsies to determine if she had lymphoma or IBS. Although she had EXCELLENT care at the speciality clinic, she had no renal issues before the surgery. She took a few bad turns which I think might have stressed her kidneys, but she is doing well now. The initial blood tests and the surgery cost big bucks, I won't lie. We have since obtained pet health insurance for the other 3. Yes, we should have had it from the start, but when we adopted them, money was really, really tight.

Years ago, I had a Siamese I also rescued off the street. Out of the dozen I've owned, three have been exceptionally people-oriented. This one, my Siamese, and a tabby.

My sympathy to your daughter, truly! I dread those days which I know will come!

I don't think I would have survived my kid's teen years without cats. Sometimes, the cats were the only subject we could discuss without ending up in a quarrel.

Oh, man! That is rough. I’m sorry to hear it. My daughter lost one about 6 years ago to cancer. Had had an eye removed due to it, but it got him in the end. I’ve lost them to kidney failure and other ways, but haven’t had any cancer issues. A neighbor who apparently doesn’t believe in spay/neuter and had an over population has been my “ gift that keeps on giving “. I’ve lost track of his that have found their way to me. (For one thing, the chow’s better here😀. I should get pet insurance. Thanks for the tip. At one point I had 30 (I live in the country) but am down to a dozen. Two new ones are hanging around and sharing leftovers with two possums. One I will try to befriend but the other is a fighter. I don’t need that. Oh and they all get spayed or neutered and get their shots. That’s my charity 🐱🐱

As a Catholic I totally resented his using my Pope’s funeral as a political optic moment—asleep or not!!!! I knew when he said he was going it was all about him, not about respecting the Pope who was brave enough to be critical of his cruelty. He is the antithesis of this Pope’s care for those on the margins.

But, God must have a sense of humor! “Sure, put the pushy guy in the front row— but the first shall be last—he will be found slack mouthed and snoring for all to see!

And while I am all for Zelensky am not sure the sit down in St Peter’s was appropriate- given it was a funeral. On the other hand it may turn out tobe Pope Francis’ first miracle.
