Thanks for coming back to the keyboard. You lifted up my discourages state —- the struggle is upon us and we can win but like the heroes of the pacific battles we may be called upon to do far more than we imagine. I’m in my late 80s but this is the battle to fight

WHAT CAN WE DO RIGHT NOW?

There is a critical Supreme court election coming in Wisconsin. Musk is reportedly dumping millions into it. WE can join in postcard/letter campaigns, for one. Most ask for you to do it on your own dime, some will donate supplies if you ask. If you can't afford the postage, can you get a few like minded friends to join in with you, and perhaps share your table and host a writing party? Or send $5 to one of those campaigns?

Secondly, SUPPORT THE ECONOMIC BOYCOTT ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28th!

Do not buy ANYTHING, ANYWHERE on Friday. If you are concerned regarding your local small businesses, plan ahead. Purchase on a different day, or buy one of their giftcards.

This needs to send a message to our fellow voters and the world--we are NOT BUYING this coup!! No pun intended.

Good advice, all of it. AOC met with her constituents and told them that every one of them could do one small thing that would add up to being part of a big thing. A thousand small cuts can indeed draw as much blood as a dramatic stabbing, and each of us can do at least one of the things you outline here, with 2/28 being the easiest. I will be writing out my sympathy card to include with my tax return, letting the remaining IRS staff know that I feel their pain at having their staff halved and their work doubled, as being kicked by two big jackasses has to be painful.

TC, some of the other bright lights we're starting to see are Govenors, state Attorney Generals, Federal Prosecutors and citizens pushing back, and pushing back hard, on the Maladministration's coup. One example you cite is Gov. Mills response to Trump where, according to Heather Cox Richardson's post last night, the Gov tells the POTUS (which accordingly to the new social media law of the People means "Putin of the United States"): "We'll see you in Court." In other words, she told him to FUCK-OFF!!!

Well, her response appears to have stirred the proverbial pot, with the Trump-Wads opening an investigation into Maine's Department of Education. Well, Maine AG Aaron Fey didn't take this very well and as HCR cites, responded "Fortunately the rule of law still applies in this country, and I will do everything in my power to defend Maine’s laws and block efforts by the president to bully and threaten us... [W]hat is at stake here [is] the rule of law in our country... No President…can withhold Federal funding authorized and appropriated by Congress and paid for by Maine taxpayers in an attempt to coerce someone into compliance with his will. It is a violation of our Constitution and of our laws.”

And then there is Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (“Take it from an actual billionaire, Trump is rich in only one thing, stupidity”) who, again cited by HCR also told Trump to FUCK-OFF in perhaps a more eloquent way:

“We don’t have kings in America and I don’t intend to bend the knee to one…. If you think I’m overreacting and sounding the alarm too soon, consider this: It took the Nazis one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours and 40 minutes to dismantle a constitutional republic. All I’m saying is when the five-alarm fire starts to burn, every good person better be ready to man a post with a bucket of water if you want to stop it from raging out of control... Tyranny requires your fear and your silence and your compliance. Democracy requires your courage. So gather your justice and humanity, Illinois, and do not let the ‘tragic spirit of despair’ overcome us when our country needs us the most.”

And finally, the People are starting to demonstrate their Power, from the town halls to the city halls of the Nazi conspirators (looking at you, city council of Huntington Beach, CA):

https://www.nytimes.com/video/us/politics/100000010001463/chris-kluwe-maga-plaque-protest-huntington-beach.html?smid=url-share

Lastly, HCR referenced "a report report from Andrea Shalal and Joey Roulette of Reuters that the United States is trying to force Ukraine to sign away rights to its critical minerals by threatening to cut off access to Musk’s Starlink satellite system. Ukraine turned to that system after the Russians destroyed its communications services."

We all knew that Musk was a pro-Putin, Nazi sympathizer who would "turn-off" his Starlink system at will (which he's done before." It is time for employees of SpaceX (and Tesla) to pull Musk's plug.

Musk isn't just pro-Putin, it appears he's an active collaborator.

Tom included this quote from Ron Filipowski from Meidas Touch, “The policies of Trump, Musk, Vought and Stephen Miller are affecting people in ways that they did not anticipate. Now that they are dealing with the reality of that, they don’t like what they see.”

Gee, you think? Oh, now they don’t like what they see? Now that the walls are closing in, now that the air reeks of tyranny and the bile of their own ignorance, now they squirm? Too late. Too goddamn late. They built this dystopia with their own grubby hands, brick by fascist brick, and now they want a refund? No refunds. No exchanges. You bought this nightmare, you bragged about this nightmare, you shoved this nightmare down our throats like a fistful of sawdust and bile, and now you want sympathy? I have nothing but hatred and contempt for these men and women. Every last one of them.

These red-hatted bootlickers thought they were signing up for a grand spectacle, a political reality show where the “libs” would cry, and they’d sit back with their dollar store beers and smug little grins. But the joke’s on them because the cameras have turned, the director is a sadist, and they are the ones bleeding out on the cutting room floor.

Musk, Vought, Stephen Miller—their gods, their idols—have carved them up like meat on a slab, sold their futures for scrap, and these rubes are just now realizing the blade is at their own throats. What did they think was going to happen? That fascists would build a paradise just for them? That they’d be safe while the “others” suffered? That their loyalty would buy them immunity? Oh, you pathetic, deluded fools. History has a lesson for you, one written in blood and betrayal: fascism eats its own.

The policies they cheered are devouring their homes, their families, their livelihoods. The factories are closing. The farms are failing and being snapped up for pennies on the dollar by the billionaire cabal. Their own kids are overdosing in record numbers while their so-called leaders hoard wealth and laugh at their misery. They backed a party that swore to “own the libs” but instead owned them—body and soul. They elected a con man, a grifter, a bloated, decomposing monument to American stupidity, and in return, he has served them a banquet of suffering. Eat up.

But wait—let’s not forget the other villains in this grotesque American tragedy: the smug, indifferent one-third who couldn’t even be bothered to vote. The ones who sat back, arms crossed, muttering that “both sides are the same” while democracy was dragged into the gutter and bludgeoned to death in broad daylight. Too cynical, too pure, too self-important to dirty their hands in the voting booth—but not too principled to cry now that the policies of fascists are setting their lives on fire.

And then there’s the fresh-faced morons of Gen Z, the young men who strutted to the polls and cast their votes for Trump like it was a shitpost. Maybe they thought it was edgy, or maybe they swallowed the rotting filth of right-wing propaganda about “masculinity” and “freedom” without realizing that their new overlords see them as nothing but cannon fodder. Well, they wanted to feel strong? I hope they’re ready to embrace a new kind of “patriotism”—the kind that comes with a military draft notice in the mail.

Because guess what, young men and most likely, women? Wars don’t fight themselves. And with their puppet government whipping up conflicts abroad while gutting every social safety net at home, there’s a real good chance their “strong leader” is going to need fresh meat for the grinder. I hope their love of hyper-masculine bullshit extends to crawling through sand with a rifle while their billionaire heroes sip champagne in gilded bunkers.

I live in a divided America now. Us against them. That is the reality, and we better embrace it because there is no other option. We cannot reach them, we cannot save them, and we sure as hell cannot afford to waste our energy caring about them. They made their bed, and now they will lie in it, suffocating under the weight of their own stupidity. No do-overs. No take-backs. No crocodile tears.

They wanted this nightmare. They made this nightmare. And now? Now, they get to live in it.

As for me? I can live without Social Security and Medicare. I can immigrate to Canada with my Canadian wife. Will I miss my country? The old one—yes. The new one—not for a second. I’m not interested in being thrown into a detention camp and starved to death by the very monsters they voted for. Let them reap what they sowed. I won’t be here to watch.

I share your disdain of and contempt for the magas. I will not weep for them except for the few who are by IQ score mentally disabled. They fueled their endless goose-stepping with hatred and bigotry. I am not generous spirited enough to withhold my contempt for them. They are the real "suckers and losers," not our dead vets as Trump has pronounced.

As I was driving and listening, pulled up to a red light to await a left-hand turn, this paragraph (a) gave me chills and caused me to tear up. It was a combo of the good news and your adeptness at description that brought it to life, gives me chills as I dictate this even.

And then you speak (b) of the combined outlooks of Josh, Ron and Robert… (to whom we subscribed in February 2017 and soon thereafter exchanged some personal dialogue… Stellar knowing Rob and Jill virtually as all this epically historical drama unfolds)… it just can’t get any better. 3 = FACT! We’re on track. As always, thank you again.

(a) Five minutes later, lookouts screamed as they spotted the sunlight glittering off the canopies of the Enterprise dive bombers as they came into view above a broken cloud deck. And ten minutes after that, the only question about Japan’s loss of the war was how long it would take for the loss to be recognized, as the heart of the fleet - the carriers - were bombed and sunk.

(b) My proof is thin, but I’m passing on the analyses of my friend Josh Marshall, Ron Filipowski from Meidas Touch, and Blog buddy Robert Hubble, whose finely-tuned political earthquake detectors align with those of Josh and Ron. There’s an old saying among Hollywood writers: what one person says is an opinion; if two say it, it could be coincidence; but if three say it, it’s a FACT. And here is that fact:

Thanks, Tom. I'm still concerned about my SS next week. (I'll be paying rent early and then maybe my phone as well) I'm considering selling my electric wheelchair to facilitate paying down my CC debt and moving into my step-mother's apartment in Windsor as she leaves for Manitoba OR looking after my mother's house in North Carolina if she ever gets back to Michigan. I doubt any of that will happen, but, better safe than living at the Motel 6. (Been there, done that)

A friend messaged me that the pompous puppet was recruited in 1987 by Putin and given the code name of Krasnov, or "the red one." I don't care if that's his code name or if it is something else - it's clear who owns him. So from now on, he's Krasnov for me and everything he does or says I will regard as a directive from the Kremlin.

Expand full comment

In 1987, Putin was a very minor KGB thug stationed in West Germany, with no responsibility for foreign recruitment, or opportunity to do so. Sorry, when a story is too good to be true, that's because it's a lie.
