Thanks, TC!

If people looked at my CV they might conclude that I was either massively unstable or incredibly interesting.

That used to bother me because internally my Irish DNA and my German DNA were always at war. I constantly had to push past the feeling of inadequacy always edging my curiosity, love of learning, and attraction to all things "...counter,original, spare, strange...fickle, freckled..." ( GMHopkins, Pied Beauty).

At the same time, I was defending my ability to organize and manage and take charge against my 13 younger siblings ( and some HR folks) who called me "bossy". And I said to them, " No, I am just practicing to be ready to respond to crises and perhaps save your sorry behinds!!!"

My siblings laughed; HR-no sense of humor.

Recently, and most annoyingly, my diversity has been validated by my Kindle library and the relentless algorithms which say, " based on your reading we suggest these books." The list is all over the place. Algorithmic superiority!!

With age has come coexistence. The sides remain but wisdom lives between them! It is a good place to be in this last of my multiple "lives". Best of all I have quit beating up on myself! The people who love me love me as I am and I them!

The last paragraph's for the ages, Carol. I'm glad to run across someone else who has gone through the war of the Irish and German DNA. :-)

Same here. I am a witty stickler (Irish German) who fared best workimg for myself, because I could fire me first.
