Winner, TC’s “Best sign” unannounced competition
Since I avoid going to downtown LA like the plague, I was glad to discover yesterday that the one official 50501 rally in the city of Lost Angles was the No Kings Day Protests in the NoHo Arts District, which is about 20 minutes away from Le Chateau Du Chat on surface streets. When I left the house, I considered whether to take both Nikons (which is what you do when you’re doing photojournalism) and decided not to. Naturally, the D90 I took was the one with the low battery. So I left when it failed on the first shot. Got home and thought “Maybe there’s still time,” so I took the D500, which had full battery, and got back just at the time the parade through NoHo was winding up back at the Rec Center. But here are some shots.
1st Runner-up TC’s unannounced “Best Sign” competition
I was shooting for the interesting signs. You’ll not that the TAFM Majority Demographic is well represented, and they were the ones carrying the interesting signs. When are they going to realize that pissing off Boomer Women - the most experienced political protesters in America - is a dumb idea?
2nd runner-up in TC’s unannouncded “Best Sign” competition
I asked a traffic cop what the crowd estimate was and he said “several thousand,” which is what it looked like in the park when I got there the first time.
Nice to see LA’s finest not doing what they have done at too many demonstrations I have attended in LA over the past 58 years (Century City riot, June 1967)
3rd runner-up, TC’s unannounced “Best Sign” competition
People were talking after the rally about the “no business days” on February 27-28 next week, and the General Strike on March 15, so I would take this as a good start.
The majority Demographic well represented
Yes, TAFM goes where the action is to keep up with the fountain of crap. Your support as a paid subscriber makes this possible. Only $7/month or $70/year.

75 folks showed up at Hayward,CA city hall in the Bay Area. Got lots of honks from passersby! Felt good to DO something. Can’t wait for the next, bigger one!
Thanks, Tom -- great pix!!
Not a PEEP on the national news about any of these protests across the country.
The media in cahoots?
