Worth every penny, TC (19 cents a day for me).

In a perverse, crude and terrifying way the Jan 6 invaders acknowledged her preeminent skill and power in the way they were coming after her to do her harm. But her detractors chip away at the tip of the ice they see, not realizing it is attached to a 10,000 ton berg beneath. Nancy is a pro with politics in her DNA. Thank you for describing the intense complexity of legislating and how much strategic intelligence it demands at Speaker Pelosi's level. I have the coffee mug with her shaking her finger across the table at TFG. I lift a cup to her each morning!

That's a coffee cup I'd do well to get along with my Biden/Harris cup!

I bow to your knowledge of people politics, TC. It is with sincere respect that I offer my take on our revered Speaker, a force to be reckoned with: "The boss mare, or lead horse in the herd, will move and direct the herd as she pleases. The rest of the herd follows her lead and is thus set in her herd dynamic. If there is a unruly youngster in the group that pesters, or gets too close to feed or water, the lead mare will pin her ears and charge after him with some serious meaning."

I had never heard that quote from Mr. Unruh, but I can believe he said it; he certainly practiced it while in office. Hopefully Mrs. Pelosi is correct in her reading of both houses of Congress because, if she isn't, or a cloud passes in front of the moon at the wrong time, both bills could be lost. Your analysis is sound but soundness, good sense and predictable behavior have little to do with DC politics as currently practiced.

Ahhhh. Nancy Pelosi. I send her my complete representation of my vote every day. Her skill in leading the herd is matched only with her correct perception of every horse in the herd. Thank you TC for, what I consider a tribute, when Frances Perkins, AOC, Elizabeth Warren, Kamala Harris, and every great woman I can list is on my mind this month.

So fitting the tribute comes from a very wise man.

I love it when you "talk dirty" - i.e. name names AND give us the lowdown on the history. Rahm is so irritating. And Vichy Democrats! Wow! Perfect. My own feckless congress person Fred Upton LOVES the "problem solvers caucus" as does Debbie Dingell, because it gives him a place to hide. What a crowd of namby pambies all around - both parties. Thank God for Pelosi.
