It's just been announced that some, but apparently not all, Russian banks have been disconnected from SWIFT. I saw no mention of Belarusian banks. We'll see.

It resurrects my horror at the CIA manipulation of the Iranian government in 1953 because of the Mosaddegh plan to nationalize Iran's oil industry. So, the U.S. helped to implant the Shah of Iran to preserve our claim to the oil. Look where that led...the Islamic Revolution. Are we now finally learning the lessons of respecting the sovereignty of other nations and their control of their own governments and their own resources?
