McHenry's allegiance may be to McCarthy who chose him as second banana, so we'll see how that works. I would like to rejoice, but my skepticism is as strong as yesterday's coffee. In the meantime I'm keeping fingers crossed that nothing untoward happens to Joe or Kamala.

But tell us what you really mean…honestly love when u say exactly how u feel about the Repugs and Jordan’s wrestling injuries to his brain etc. I love when u make me laugh.

"“A Democrat coalition government is a nonstarter for Republicans,” House Majority Whip Tom Emmer said." If this is true, then I think we're in for a long, disgusting look at just how dysfunctional Republicans can be followed by a huge Blue Wave a year from now. While I look forward to that tsunami, I don't relish the damage that will be done between now and then.

A reminder of who the 147 were. McHenry was not one of them.https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/01/07/us/elections/electoral-college-biden-objectors.html

The 147 is VERY important. If we keep it together and get the majority back, expulsion is on the way.

Re. The Commedy of Errors while Will’s shortest play, you’re probably right on that this speakless-ship or #%* ...might be the longest Comedy of Errors so far on the Republicannots decide side.

I have no confidence that McHenry is anything more than Maga given his credentials. Maybe the dems believe he can be trusted. The basic issue however is the 8+ determined to blow things up, not to mention all the "members" who voted against certifying the electoral college vote even after the insurrectionists and their poo poo 💩 was cleaned up. Unless the rules are changed he'll be out before he can bang that gavel again. But...hope springs eternal. By the time January 3, 2024 rolls around maybe jungle gym will find himself indicted thanks to the queen of the kraken. What are these people ingesting, where are they doing it and who's dealing? Hm....

If all the Democrats vote for him, there's no way he gets voted out. And the Democrats will have agreements in place about what gets done before they ever approve this.

Such as tying Ukrainian and Israeli aid together, hopefully. Not that a solemn promise or guarantee from any Republican can be trusted today.

Linda, Why hasn’t JJ been indicted?

They have not been able to find him because he is so far up trumps butt!

As with love and hate, there's often a thin line between comedy and tragedy. And with world events unfolding as they are while this particular comedy plays out, one must hope that nothing happens that will show us exactly where that line is and that we've crossed it without realizing it.

A comedy of errors indeed. I only wish I could find it funny (unlike your withering excoriations, TC, which provide plenty of snickers). But with the Mideast wobbling on a tightrope and another dreary government shut down drama guaranteed to give us all heartburn in November, laughter is in short supply.

This sounds like the high school football team captain who impregnates the cheerleaders and want his running back to cover for him. Without any conversation with the cheerleader. Not ready for teen TV.

Check "Progress Report" by Jordan Zakarian, Oct. 19, "Shame dies when there is no push back"- referenced Representative Summer Lee, from PA, posted that besides failing to protect the OSU wrestlers rape victims , Jordan also had accused a 10 year old rape victim for lying to get an abortion and he refused to apologize even when her rape victim was found.

Hillary was so right about the depraved deplorables.

Matt Gaetz believes it's a "desecration of the Constitution" to endow the Speaker Pro Tem with enhanced powers for a short period of time????? That's rich. Thanks TC, I dang near spit my tea all over my new keyboard when I read that.

Gaetz's "beliefs" are about as solid as the 'transporting underage persons across state lines for purposes of sex' charges that mysteriously evaporated. (I'm guessing Daddy Gaetz took care of them).

Why would Democrats vote for McHenry on an interim basis? He's just a sliver to the center of Jordan. The only two Republicans that Democrats should consider are those who have proven their fealty to the Constitution: Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger. Short of that, it's Jeffries (under a power-sharing agreement) or nothing!

Proof positive the GOP is not a governing party and is incapable of becoming one. If only MSM would tell it like it is.

Poor ol’ McHenry is setting himself up to be primaried for not being MAGA enough. Are we sure he will go along with this?

Considering that the first & only "issue" he set forth was to take away Pelosi's & Hoyer's offices - didnt really raise him in my estimation. But I guess thats nit-picking, at this point.

Just when one thinks the GOP derpitude can’t possibly get more bizarre…but it just reinforces the axiom that everything trump touches dies. His “leadership” of the sinking ship that is the Republican Party is simply amazing, sort of like his immense string of successful business ventures…the Edward Smith of our politics.
