As Rick Wilson put it today: "Trump isn’t in his fat Elvis stage. He’s in his Fat Elvis imitator playing a Tuesday night gig at a gas station/casino/unlicensed brothel outside Elko, Nevada phase. There’s not going to be a comeback tour. Trump’s brain is broken. His campaign is broken. "

The Hill is reporting "Donald Trump to hit Kamala Harris hard in remarks from Mar-A-Lago."

When. Pigs. Fly.

Yeah, from behind Mama's skirts in MAL because he won't "say it to her face."

He's reverted to the 2015/2016 reruns. He can't stand it she just laughs at him. And like both you and Rick Wilson reported, "what the fuck is wrong with the media" not pointing out grandpa ranty is off his meds and is hiding at home?

Expand full comment

He's already tried, and thrown a bunch of terrible shit out there, and it didn't stick. What else does he have?

I've decided that The Hill is just another worthless publication authored by wannabe journalists who never made it into journalism school. It's a worthless, useless rag, just like Politico and the NYT, the Portland Press Herald and the Lewiston Sun Journal (those last two are Gannett-owned local makebaits).

Oh, he's going to "hit Kamala Harris hard"? Please. The only thing he's hitting hard is the golf course and maybe his ego every time someone mentions her name. Kamala's going to handle those "remarks" like she handles everything else—with a side-eye and a smirk that says, "Is that all you got? Hmm. Because I’m speaking.”

Hitting Kamala Harris hard from Mar a Largo? The couch potato strikes again. What’s with the guys and couches anyway?

I made the mistake of watching for nearly an hour before I turned it off. Elko indeed.

We really need a laugh out loud emoji here. 🤣

The pig did it's usual ground level ranting. One thing: he seems to have "agreed" to 3 debates, starting with his Fox date. I think Harris should agree, but with the Fox date AFTER the first two. With trump, there's no guarantee he wouldn't just back out on the other two (ABC and CBS) claiming he "won" after Fox so there is no more need.

Expand full comment

Say no to Faux, period. That's not a debate, and the others barely qualify.

Expand full comment

No debates, please!!! I don’t trust any media outlet to be anything but Trump drama fodder. No fact checking, no cutting off the insane monologues, old orange asshole gets his sound bites. I don’t care if Trump is debating Aristotle, he’s just gonna keep spouting off like a blow hole and the media will eat it up and Trump will “win” because he’s the loudest, and content is irrelevant.

Expand full comment

I agree. The "debates" have lost any semblance of relevancy. Trump is incapable - and has no intention - of following any rules. He just spouts off his lies like a fire hose. He has no policies, so he just rambles. Just cancel all the debates. They are not worth watching.

Expand full comment

Agreed!!! None of them are debates in the fashion that I understood them in college when being on the College Debate Team was some very serious shit, indeed.

Oh, I want to see the “no audience” debates—she will skewer him like the experienced prosecutor she is.

This says it all

“Kamala’s pick of Governor Walz has united AOC, Bernie, Pelosi, John Fetterman, and Joe Manchin.”

And it totally flummoxed the pundits and the D.C. press corps(e). Talk about brilliant!

When the protestors interrupted the rally, Kamala Harris' response was the epitome of "the adult in the room" and showed her prosecutorial skills to perfection. I would not want to be facing her with childish chants - that look, that voice, that command, that calm but direct response. No wonder she's been so effective in international matters. No wonder no one wants to debate her!

If any Biden-should-step-downers would have said in the weeks leading up to the decision that within 2 weeks of the stepdown we'd be using the word "fun" to describe the presidential campaign, a lot lot of people would have looked at them funny. If somebody had said that the repub VP would have couchfucking chasing him around, we would have thougth you were writing some sort of fan fiction.

Thanks for the laugh...dang, that couch has gotten a LOT of media exposure! I kinda surprised it hasn't had any interviews yet--or an offer of it's own show.

A MAGA label I can agree with. So through with the doldrums. However, thanks for reiterating that they are as serious as a heart attack. Never forget it. “Conservative,” as it is currently being practiced, is a class war against everybody else. And that is the crux of our dilemma….

When Harris/Walz talk about kitchen table concerns Americans have, I pretty sure they actually have kitchen tables, as opposed to buffets, bed trays, or airstriplong dining tables. They are approachable, as the protestors discovered yesterday.

I'm stuck on Kevin "Project 2025" Roberts's line: “We are in an era of needing to impose political power as conservatives, and one of the ways we can do that in a relatively cheerful, daily way, is to be part of an administrative state, that will be smaller." It's the "relatively cheerful, daily way" I'm stuck on. Is this an updated version of "Springtime for Hitler"?

VP Harris's handling of the anti-genocide protesters was brilliant, especially if she did indeed meet with them later.

I thought she met with Rashida beforehand and her followers went ahead and tried to disrupt Harris’ speech. What people don’t realize is that attorneys who are prosecutors have no patience for any kind of disingenuous behavior.

Yes to all of this, TC. I genuinely believe President Biden stepping aside and immediately endorsing Kamala changed the course of history. And brava to Kamala for shutting down the protestors at her rally. For years Democrats have been portrayed as pussies. It's nice to have two people in Kamala and Tim who will punch back. Bullies are fragile when you hit back. It's why Ramaswamy fell apart being called weird.

Typos in paragraphs 8 & 14 Tom , repeat of words and mis date. Otherwise SPOT ON, doesn't it feel good to feel hopeful about the future of our nation. We all knew it was in there somewhere, our parents generation which sacrificed so much and saw us free from the shackles of fascism, bequeathed us a nation, that there was no way we would sell out for money, unlike the insipid orange turd, for whom money is everything. That money and the karma attached to it, which he has worshiped his entire life will be the weight that sends him to hell when he passes.

One thing I'm not clear about: were those hecklers actually Left, bullshit or otherwise? Did anyone identify them? If they were, clearly the leaders didn't get the word out. I didn't watch the whole speech. DID Kamala address publicly the Gaza issue? She really can't duck it. Simple expressions of sympathy for the plight of the Gazans would go a long way.

I'm voting for her, of course. But I really would like a stronger position on the Middle East that at least considers the stopping of offensive weapons. I can't help feeling that Bibi is enlarging the war, at the probable cost of Israeli deaths, simply to keep the military help coming.
