they have all gone out of thier minds. It's like an extended version of The National Enquirer... I can't wait until they turn upon themselves. Hopefully there won't be any vestige of this insanity when it's over.

Roseanne is clearly not getting the mental health help she needs.

I swear I had visions of the bar scene in Star Wars. There are now a total of THREE signs for the convicted felon in this small town. THREE. Every time I see these signs, I am now going to have a flashback to the weirdos in that scene and the weirdos described in this article. I wonder what they'll do with their signs when this is all over?

I had to watch a clip of it. You're right. The only one missing is Jabba the Hutt. Maybe he showed up later.

One question: How do we rid ourselves of these people? One observation: So many of these creeps, especially Tucker Carlson, are children of extreme privilege. I know it's out there. I know it's damaged goods, but to rub my nose in this mess for too long will sap my strength. We need all of our strength and joy to defeat these monsters.

How can any sane person be undecided at this late date?

These are attention seeking losers who lack the courage God gave larva. They are baffled by menus and traffic lights. Ignore them.

When you see an article like Wehner's that lays out so many of the Republican Party's insane beliefs and personalities at once, one must wonder what is wrong with the people who support that and would have it as their government. Something wicked this way comes.....

Expand full comment

The people who support that? They dont read articles like that. It would make them think they are wrong.

Thanks Tom. I'd missed Wehner's piece, and it's excellent.

Maybe being grotesque is the new normal? Maybe we’re the weird ones for being rational, critical thinking adults in a nation of arrested development minors?

Or as Jane Craig - Holly Hunter's character in Broadcast News - replies when asked "What's it like being the smartest person in the room?" - "It's AWFUL!"

I cannot wrap my head around that there are voters who are supposedly undecided about who they are going to vote for in this election or even if they’re going to vote at all, then I remember the dolts I had to work with at my old job. They could tell you who was playing in the weekend football games but couldn’t tell you who was president or even governor of the state. We truly are a nation of idiots and sheep…

The trouble is that they conflate entertainment and carnivalry with medicine, economics, politics, and even geography. Perhaps it's the price we're paying for all the plastics we consume, a theory that's as good as or better than any of theirs.

Nothing Tom wrote was made up like a fictional character, this is who the maggots are from top to bottom, and they are proud of it. I can’t fathom how an educated person can spew this shit, knowing that it has no grounding in truth. At some point in their lives they must have studied mathematics, where fundamental truths reign, 1+1=2, that agreed upon structure is one of the organizing principals of all of our lives, unless you are a con artist like the insipid orange turd, you can’t spend money that you don’t have, I know about credit, but you don’t get credit unless you can afford it, the banks totally subscribe to the 1+1 thing. The only conclusion that seems apparent to me is that the maggots cherry pick what to believe regardless of what the truth is, in fact in spite of it. This isn’t a fucking game, people are dead because of that rancid POS and he could care less. We have a little more than a month to find out if we as a nation have completely lost our minds. 🙏

At least 35-40% of this nation has gone totally batshit crazy and most of them will vote for trump in November. The question is whether the rest of the country cares enough to vote for reason and sanity, and at this point, it’s a tossup…

As you are well aware Tom, you are preaching to the choir. We all agree with you. Those with QAnon and MAGA 'friends' and relatives may pass it on. I won't./ It's a waste of my time and energy. My conspiracy loving niece just responds by sending me URLs to her favorite conspiracy theory posts, and my lunatic nephew no longer responds to me. The rest of my family are either apolitical or alreaedy agree with me.

We all need to remind ourselves, Fay, since a typical response to shite like this is to try and put it out of one's mind.

I'm glad that Peter Wehner is taking the correct position. Remember that he was part of the George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan administrations, which used to be the only ones that topped Richard Nixon's for corruption. Hm. Strange similiarities.

I agree. And I'm glad to have anyone who wants to vote for our side on our side. Yes, including the Cheneys. That doesn't mean we forget the past or give them power now or in the future. But votes are votes.

Thank you for this reminder Tom, listed together, this list shows that the Republican Party has imploded into the confederacy of traitors to the constitution and it is up to Democrats to save the country.

There is so much demonizing of the Left by the sinister mastermind of the like of Steve Bannon “throw as much s***t as possible and see what sticks” scheming The gaslighting, the outrageous lies upon lies by the conservative Right on Fox News , on conservative airwaves and social media , they treat their audience as dumbshits : you have to have the heart and mind of a dead brain worm to believe anything that the Republican Party cooks up anymore .

The polls being so “close” at this late hour is maddening !

The left has always had its fringe kooks and showboaters, the difference is that we didn't take them seriously and we didn't put them in charge of anything more serious than a seance, bowling scorekeeping, or an occasional hog calling contest. The deadheads on the right want to hand them the nuke codes, the national seal, and the US Military. They are already the assets of our enemies.
