MAGA FREAKS OUT
Following Merrick Garland’s announcement he is appointing well known public corruption and war crimes prosecutor Jack Smith as Special Counsel to handle the invetigations of Trump for his involvement in January 6 and for the documents stolen and and taken to Mar A Largo, MAGAword freaked out.
Marjorie Traitor Goon immediately called for Attorney General Merrick Garland to be impeached and the DOJ to lose its funding for following the law and investigating Trump.

“Republicans will need to refuse to appropriate any funding to Merrick Garland’s Special Counsel and defund any part of the DOJ acting on behalf of the Democrat party as a taxpayer funded campaign arm for the Democrat’s 2024 presidential nominee.”
Ted Cruz - who really should have been thrown out that dorm window in freshman year as his roommates thought of doing - is claiming that Biden has weaponized the DOJ and is using it to attack Trump.
“Joe Biden has completely weaponized the Department of Justice to attack his political opponents.
“3 days ago, Trump announced and now a Special Counsel.
“This is Trump derangement syndrome but this time with a gun and badge.”
The problem with Cruz’s theory is that a special counsel is the opposite of weaponized politicization. An example of the politicization of the Justice Department is what Trump did when he was president. Trump appointed lackeys to run the DOJ and then used the Justice Department to attack his political enemies and do his bidding. Trump meddled in and interfered with the DOJ on a regular basis.
A special counsel who is operating with independent discretion is the opposite of the weaponization of the DOJ.
If Garland thought that Republicans would be calmer if he appointed a special counsel, he was wrong. Republicans, like Cruz, were always going to say that any action taken to investigate Trump was an abuse of power and targeting of Trump.
House Republicans will threaten to investigate the DOJ and scream their heads off.
With one decision, Merrick Garland has triggered an insane outburst from the right. All of the talk of Republicans wanting to push Trump out of the party has gone out the window.

Joyce Vance explained on MSNBC why the Garland appointment of Jack Smith as special counsel represented a serious turn in the investigation, “Not just Mr. Smith but some of the prosecutors who have joined this team do not appear to be the sorts of people who would short-circuit their careers, leave lucrative jobs in private practice or in Smith's case, leave his role in The Hague and come to the Justice Department only to say, you know, we think we'll pass on this prosecution. It looks like these folks are for real, that they're serious bout taking a good hard look at the evidence here, and perhaps where there's value added in this process that Merrick Garland has decided to use comes in the day-to-day oversight of the investigation.”
Garland appointed the special counsel to be transparent, and what that transparency suggests is that Donald Trump is a lot closer to being criminally prosecuted than he was a month ago. Trump knows this which is why he moved his 2024 announcement up.
Democrats should use the lame duck session to pass a special funding appropriation for the Department of Justice as a matter of national security.

Wooo Hooo TC. This is it. I read his career bio from an earlier blog posting by a member ((forget who). Jack Smith has everything needed. The MAGA crowd should be checking out where their bunkers and safe houses are. This man is not coming from the Hague to lose a case. Trump, if he has brains left, should scared to death---and so should the vast array of fellow and sister losers who are going to be swept up as detritus. It can't come soon enough.
