Joyce Vance wrote in her morning email, “We go into this election with momentum and energy and with great love for our country. I see it everywhere. Martin Luther King once said in a different context, ‘Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.’ That’s what we have on our side in this election. We are all doing what we can, and now that we are this close to election day, I feel the anxiety falling away, and what I see is Americans out working their hardest to make sure we keep the Republic.”

Morning headline at The Daily Beast:
TRUMP PLUMMETS IN ELECTION BETTING ODDS AFTER SHOCK POLL SHOWS HIM LOSING IOWA TO HARRIS
“Aggregator Election Betting Odds showed Kamala Harris up nearly ten points in the week since Trump’s campaign held a deranged, racist rally at Madison Square Garden.
“Election prediction markets tilted heavily towards Vice President Kamala Harris overnight after a bombshell poll released Saturday showed her ahead of former President Donald Trump in Iowa.
“The survey was conducted by the highly regarded pollster Ann Selzer, who has a long track record of producing results that uncannily mirror final election tallies.
“It is incredibly gutsy to release this poll,” said Nate Silver, the statistician and elections data guru, in a tweet. “It won’t put Harris ahead in our forecast because there was also another Iowa poll out today that was good for Trump. But wouldn’t want to play poker against Ann Selzer.”
The Iowa poll shows results that should end with the cleaning crew at Mar A Looney cleaning ketchup off all the walls, with Nebraska - Nebraska! - now close, as well as Kansas - yes, I said frickin’ Kansas!
Other key findings in Iowa Poll:
Independent women back Harris by a 28-point margin, 57% to 29%
Senior women support her by a more than 2-to-1 margin, 63% to 28%
97% of Democrats support Harris, while only 89% of Republicans support Trump

Kalshi’s betting market gave Trump a sizeable 64 percent chance of winning as recently as Wednesday. Over $174 million has been traded on the platform related to the election. As of last night, the odds had dropped to a 50-50 tie.
I guess that French guy who spent $30 million betting for Trump and changing the odds on the futures sites finally had his fill and quit.
What makes the Seltzer Poll such a big deal is that Trump won Iowa by eight points in 2020, so even a swing of a few points in a white, rural, midwestern state means incredible danger for Republican chances across the entire midwest. In Nebraska, independent Senate candidate Dan Osborn is close enough that he may pull off a massive upset and unseat incumbent MAGA Republican Deb Fischer in a deep red state. Iowa has two competitive House races; if these numbers hold, Democrats could flip both.
Two other recent polls confirm something is moving in the Midwest. Trump is still up, but things are moving away from him:
Ohio: 49/46 (Trump leads, but a 5 point swing to Ds from 2020)
Kansas: 48/43 (Trump leads but a 9 point swing to Ds from 2020)
Harris is crushing it with white, older, rural women. And who are the most reliable voters, not just in Iowa but the entire country?
White, older, rural women.
The ground game is winning.
Reuters reported earlier this month that Elon Musk's America PAC, during an internal meeting, said it wouldn't hit its goal of 450,000 door knocks by election day in Wisconsin.
A Harris campaign official in Pennsylvania said their volunteer team averaged 2,000 door-knocks per minute across the state on Saturday. This means the Harris campaign in Pennsylvania today will hit 450,000 door knocks in 225 minutes, just shy of four hours.
