Another thing I'm picking up on is the important shift in how we the people are learning how to stand up to those who pretend to be powerful. Kamala and Tim Walz are showing us how to be strong, fearless, compassionate, determined, without waiting for permission, without becoming a predator... and what this looks like. Also with humor, with grace, with intelligence. We don't have to accept the greed and corruption as inevitable because a few have all of the money and bought the media, the judges, and the other corrupt politicians. We all have our own work to do to create the future now too. We don't have to be apathetic. We are being called to action... and we're hearing it!
Thanks, Tom. An excellent post from Josh Marchall. He hit all the main points. I agree we will not know the effect the debate had until November 6th and maybe not even then if the Electoral College is close and recounts are necessary. Hillary Clinton won by 2 million popular votes (lost the EC) Joe Biden won by 8 million and won the EC. I hope Kamala wins by 14 million and a bigger win in the EC.
I was worried when she started, but she ‘found herself’ as time went by. She was such a contrast. DonOLD just looked like a glowering Jabba the Hutt. Taylor Swift’s endorsement was almost as perfectly timed as Biden’s withdrawal from the race. Harris has a brilliant back up crew.
Imagine a joint Beyonce/ Swift fundraiser. With a cameo from the Kelce Bros *tm. The funniest thing I’ve heard was ‘Wow! I didn’t know the left would get the NFL in the divorce’.
My sense is that Josh is worried about getting out over his skies and he really thinks VP Harris is going to wipe the electoral floor with TFG, but his journalistic history keeps his writings in check.
Harris has to be a good finisher, and she is or she wouldn't have come as far as she has.
Throughout the public part of her career she's been like a racehorse that comes up suddenly on the outside and out of nowhere for the win.
As for the debate, she was fast out of the gate and just kept kicking up dust in TFG;s face the entire time. Of the four present there, including the moderators, he came in a lame last like Beetlebaum, a horse well known to Spike Jones fans.
I hope Harris/Walz win by a huge margin-- so huge there is no refuting it.
Meanwhile there is something horrifyingly dangerous and growing worse in the Trump rallies--even more dangerous than it has been already.
In Nebraska he went after the Springfield Ohio Haitians once again. His rhetoric crazed the crowd. The young faces behind him were frenzied as they shouted " Throw them out!" He may not be shooting someone on 5th Ave but he is putting more and more real people in danger. He keeps hammering away with the hate against people of color. If a Haitian in Springfield is hurt or killed as a result of his rhetoric it will be on his head.
But the media (and all of us to some extent) are still pretending this is a normal election. We have got to stop normalizing his rhetoric. We have got to stop the false equalizing of "both sides are doing this".
We had better stand up for the Haitians in Springfield and every other town's immigrants or people will die. Trump escapes but people around him literally die. As he gets more desperate he spews more and more hate. If this were not an election and someone began doing what he is doing they would be arrested for hate crimes and slammed in jail! But we cannot wait for Nov 4 to do what is right. It will be way too late then. It might very well be too late now.

Keep hitting, keep hitting, keep hitting. Also ask him why he didn’t do Schitt for four years, oh, except give bucks to his buds.

Hear Hear on their timing. They both knew exactly what they were doing.

Interesting assessment, TC; it rings true to me.
I am watching the idiots in my world posting memes that take me about a day to refute, and by then, they’re on to something else.
The split screen of Harris looking amused at Trump’s flailing is the best response these days

I’ve never seen such a masterful dismantling of one’s debate opponent.
