Thanks TC. I guess my Brit heritage, from way, way back in the day is really part of my

genetic personality makeup.

This is Trump/Jabba to a T

and most of the GOP.

On another note, I see Hamish of Substack is positing leaning into politics.

They've hired some lass who

is a former WaPo someone

to roll this ball. All I can say

about this is, if the likes of

Trump, MTG, Gaetz, Jordan

Tuberville or Huckabee Sanders, ANY of that ilk, shows up on Substack, on any of my current paid list, I'll be cutting back and cutting

some off. I get enough of

that crap from MSM.

Well...you covered the whole waterfront so to speak! I wish what you have written would be in WAPO, the NYT, and on NPR among other outlets....❤️ The way US journalists are covering him and the others is nothing short of criminal. Jennifer Rubin said it well...if he were a candidate in another nation the nature of the candidacy and the obvious criminality and danger to governance would top the articles. Here? Horse race baby. We are not being served well by too many in the media.

When do we cancel our subscriptions to media that fails the journalist test?

The one common trait that I notice about almost all conservatives, GQP, MAGAts, and others of their ilk is their lack of a sense of humor. Try showing them a Monty Python or SNL skit and it goes completely over their heads. Irony, wit, and puns are totally wasted on those with that mindset. They do laugh but usually at some snide, cruel remark like trump with his rendition of a reporter who had a serious disability and never, never do they laugh at any self-deprecating humor.

As a American born dual UK/Us citizen residing in Wales I never met a a single person who liked Trump at all in the 10 years since my move. Until... one day at the local swimming pool, a woman with Thatcher hair and a bathing costume with an astonishing array of rhinestones on the bosom swam over to me and informed me that ‘everyone in America loves Trump’. Categorically false babe, I told her, anyone with a shred of light in their soul in America knows him to be a troll, a malevolent wilted vegetable vegetable of a person with no redeeming features whatsoever. She then informed me that to her, he was not only wonderful as a statesman but most of all, breathy voice, as a ...Man. I then quite calmly offered to drown her. She has given me a very wide berth since then but occasionally catching a glimpse of her sparkly décolletage I am reminded of the delusions that can grip any unwary soul that accepts evil as good.

Oh yes, my first and not so rare sighting in the field... or pond as it happens. Ghastly. I am not a violent person and am very fond of rhinestones myself, (although everyone knows if they are bigger than your head it is in really bad taste), but I immediately knew she had to die or at least cease to exist in some reliable fashion. If my laser eyes were juiced up she would be just saturated fat and bad hair floating on a ripple while fake diamonds floated to the bottom of the pool. My current super power is eating chocolate mousse with startling gusto but during the election season it might be my civic duty to make a switch. 😻

As with humor, the former guy also has no feel for animals. Humor is so human, as is loving cats and/or dogs.

many points well taken. oddly enough, I've never actually thought about it, but I've NEVER seen him laugh. in fact, I've never seen him actually smile. that little moonface he makes when he's cuing the "audience" to laugh at one of his fourth-rate borscht belt "jokes" does not in any way qualify as a smile.

Agree. He’s never happy, merry, or delighted. He mugs a satisfied, Cheshire Cat smile, but it’s not a happy smile. It’s a mask he wears.

> And while Trump may be laughable, he has never once said anything wry, witty or even faintly amusing – not once, ever. I don’t say that rhetorically, I mean it quite literally: not once, not ever.

I agree 100%. There’s nothing charming about him. He’s mean and repulsive without even a redeeming wit.
