Too good not to share. The best thing you will read today. Passed along from Charlie Sykes who got it from The Shovel: We are certainly no fans of Donald Trump – let’s make that clear from the outset. But yesterday’s raid by the FBI on the home of a former president sets a dangerous precedent.
Problem is that the MAGA fans probably are totally ok with criminality as long as it’s their side doing it. That is the implication, isn’t it? It’s a theme going back centuries. One set of laws for the in-group and another set for the out-group. Privileges of the manor-lord, don’t you know. (In the American experience this gets tied up with slavery and adds an existential energy to it.) One of the innovations of Enlightenment thinkers was the concept of the universality of the human condition and thus the universality of human rights and the application of law. The preamble to the Declaration of Independence was maybe the purest distillation of the concept. And some Americans have been trying to wriggle out of it ever since. So while we may see The Shovel’s piece as delicious irony, our opponents are—at an emotional level—wondering what’s so funny.
The New Republic ran the tax break story last week and I posted it on my FB page. it seemed especially egregious that he buried Ivanka right near the first hole, virtually guaranteeing that nobody would notice her very much. a decent guy would've buried her near the 19th hole, where at least a bunch of drunk rich guys would HAVE to deal with the whole deal.

Here was I so caught up in the question of what else could be buried with Ivana that I missed the whole thing about cemeteries being money makers/ tax evaders. Leave it to the Don to monetize all of his plots.
Crap. Now the Bureau of Prisons will be knocking on Congressional doors to get say a 5000% increase in budgets to house all the tax frauds, white collar criminals, cheaters on taxes, escapees from alimony decrees, religious abusers of children, wannabee mobsters, traitors with AR-15s and IQs under 70, Civil servants spending nights away with their squeezes,, etc,, ect. Not to mention all those housewives duplicating Walmart coupons. In advance of their successful request, I suggest th BOP just fence in Wyoming.

Just thought I would mention (mainly because it sent my head spinning and I feel truly nauseous) TheMeidasTouch posted that TFG is being investigated for violating the Espionage Act… I think that would definitely nip any run at the presidency he may be entertaining.
