Their rhetoric is all projection, and that should certainly frighten us all.

That’s a typo, right: “Director of Election Integrity?”

It’s supposed to be "Director of Election Intervention."

I Liked this post, but I don’t like it at all. It’s alarming. What can the Democrats do to counter these actions? Why aren’t they already?

Watch Michigan. Our Secretary of State Benson, Attorney General Nessel, and Governor Whitmer, are a formidable triad. Throw in a State Rep or 2 like Mallory McMorrow, and, I suspect, our Democratic Party is already getting clear directions. Plus, I finally joined the party, as have alot of other former (Governor) Milliken Republicans. But you are so right to panic. TC describes a perfectly horrid storm.

You are correct MaryPat they are a formidable triad. And I am still reeling that the despicable group of thugs who methodically planned Governor Whitmer’s kidnapping and execution got off🤬. And Mallory McMorrow is my new hero. If only more politicians had her spine and would speak their truth like she does I would feel better about the future of our democracy.

This is the line to remember:

'Republicans are taking aim at the very system of democratic elections that underpins our government.' (TAFM)

Prepared to challenge voters at Democratic-majority polling places, developing a website to connect those workers to local lawyers and establishing a network of party-friendly district attorneys who could intervene to block vote counts at certain precincts. Installing party loyalists on the Board of Canvassers, which is responsible for certifying the election, also appears to be on the GOP's agenda.(TAFM)

That's just a nibble of what the GOP has in store for our free and fair elections

Appetizers and snacks via social media will also be served. 'Rise of right-wing apps seen worsening midterm disinformation. By promising users unfettered platforms to say and promote whatever they please, these right-leaning apps and sites will likely become places to start, nurture and promote disinformation about the midterm elections that may even lead to violence.' As a Michigander I did NOT want to know this, but this (from another state?) helped: "...former acting attorney general and inventor of the toilet bowl for men with big penises, Matthew Whitaker."

It is so obvious what is building. They are learning with each election how to cheat more effectively. The news media is so agonizingly slow to call this out. When you start seeing this all in context it really frightens.

Sitting in a rational(ish) corner of the country, in a rational(ish) state, I feel so disempowered. Our San Diego Republicans are more interested in getting rich than getting power. So we can be fairly confident that voters will get to the polls and votes will be counted. But I watch what goes on elsewhere and I don’t know how to help. I’m up for suggestions.

The interesting thing about the judiciary rant is that, thanks to Cocaine Mitch's efforts, the majority of the "partisan" judges were appointed by Republican presidents. That many of them have already ruled against the most recent is both cause for some hope and another indication of his cluelessness.

I dunno, TC. I'm about as live-and-let-live as you can get, but I'm nearly ready to go to war with these MAGA assholes. I can't see any possibility of compromise. Maybe we should just identify where colonies of them live and do a little ethnic cleansing.

these are the motherfuckers who had two presidents serve (one for two ruinous terms) who got a minority of the popular vote. and as for these fake "poll workers," doesn't every polling place have "No Electioneering" signs posted all over the place? I interpret this to mean that polling places are supposed to be free of partisan considerations (I might also be wrong about this), at least among the poll workers. I once worked as a poll worker during a period of unemployment and the training we got emphasized that, as poll workers, we were expected to be free of our own political considerations when we did the work. what these guys are planning flies in the teeth of that. all of this stuff makes me (literally) sick enough to consider a news moratorium for a week or so, just to see what it's like. the chances of this happening are, of course, nil. these are real scorched earth guys...I think they thought they were just being "temporarily" slick in 2020, but the fact is they very well might have ruined everything by keeping it up. we'll see. if I were twenty years younger, I have no doubt that I'd be seriously planning my exit. no. doubt. it's gonna get really, really ugly. actually, it already has.

Came upon this last night as I tuned into Anderson Cooper for a few minutes. Denver Riggleman. A former Repub congressman and senior tech advisor to Jan 6th committee. A Republican who I choose for my side for summer night Red Rover game.

Give a listen. I grew very still listening to him. Perhaps even I have underestimated the Jan 6th investigative committee.

I thought of fissures of cracks of darkness filling with Light. Nothing like unequivocally exposing treason, lies, and cheap tricks. And listen for only other name he cites besides former and Meadows. Wow. Give me a bible-thumping, open a can of whoop ass moment with her. By the woodshed.
