Andrea Haynesjust now

Well done TC. Here is my precis with some commentary. 1. Marc Bernier, far right wing Florida talk radio host called himself “Mr. Anti-Vax,” died 0f covid Saturday. Poetic justice. 2. Phil Valentine, a religious conservative--changed his mind too late to save himself. 3. Dick Farrel, a West Palm Beach Florida right-wing radio personality, power tripping lying freak..died after contracting the virus and being placed on a ventilator 4. Jimmy DeYoung, a Christian radio broadcaster in Chattanooga, Tennessee, posed the question, "could this be another form of government control of the people" RIP August, 17. 5. Caleb Wallace was the Texas organizer of an anti-mandate “Freedom Rally” on July 4th, by the end of July, he was infected and tried Ivermectin, the livestock dewormer after which he died on August, 26.

TC clarifies the fallacy pointed out by Charlie Sykes how idiotic it is that “No one should be told to get vaccinated. No one should wear masks. Everything should be open and normal. Vaccines are dangerous and should be resisted. But random drugs used for other purposes are miracle cures that everyone should take.”

Again, thank you ,TC.

Nailed it, Andrea.

Are we missing the point here, TC? All these folks died with their "freedumbs" intact!

Also, I can verify that ivermectin is indeed effective. It has been successful at reducing the parasite load on one of my horses.

I plead guilty to that certain feeling of satisfaction Darrow mentioned. I also feel angry that people cannot get lifesaving treatment for things like appendicitis and pancreatitis because STUPID, contrary people who refused to get vaccinated are taking up ICU beds. This pandemic is showing that “you can’t fix stupid!” Death can be a natural consequence of stupidity.

I am sorry for the hospital care givers that are so overwhelmed again and are now having to care for all of those non vaccinated people who are now wanting one. If only they hadn't been so stupid they could have made it better for everyone!

On the bright side, clinical trials are re-establishing Ivermectin’s effectiveness against parasites …

It's beyond belief.... I am dumbstruck by this stupidity, stubbornness, and denial! I know of a few anti-vaccine doctors, ophthalmologists, and although I don't interact with them, I can't stop scratching my head in disbelief! Do these clowns know about these situations and people that you described above? What do they say about them? Or do they avoid the news, odors they think that it's fiction?! Is there something in the water?

It's all so bizarre!

And then I listen to these whacky right wing lunatics, an increasing number of elected officials talking about January 6th as though those arrested are political hostages?! How did/when did things get so crazy?

I follow you, @Dr. Richardson, @Lucian Truscott IV, and try to learn everything from our history that would explain something how this evolved.... but regardless of what I have learned I guess I still feel it boils down to stupidity, selfishness, and insecurity.... and I am so sad that there doesn't seem to be anything that I can do about it. I just keep giving the most I can in acts and deeds to be kind and thoughtful to whomever I meet. But I am running out of fingers to plug up the dyke. Sad.

50 years of relentless far right "movement c onservatism", "white resentment" about "those people" taking stuff from them, no more "civics" education in school (and the promotion of functional illiteracy with all the "reforms' of learning to read... It all adds up. To this.

Sigh.... yes. But when I think of Emmet Till, like so many others people and situations in our history, I wonder if 'it's' always been in our dna, and the inability of some to resist such desperate ugly thoughts and actions is just another example of their weakness and, dare I say, lesser I.Q. s and sense of moral compasses?

Yeah, it has been so long it's in our DNA now.

TC, I am rooting for your success, if perhaps selfishly. Reading sanity is most reassuring. Your voice resonates with me. I delight in your snarky comments. The heft of intellect is evident in all of it. Thanks for this island of sanity!

In a way it all proves there is a God.....or at least a totally pissed Mother Nature!! I try really hard not to hope for anyone's death ( came close though in terms of TFG) and feel for their grieving families. It is sad, but much more sad, immoral and dangerous is that they used their platforms, their public "voices," to put the lives of so many others in jeopardy. They massively failed the pandemic IQ test!!! Thank you, TC.....good news you are building up a base here!
