Of course, there's no coverage out in the oblasts where the "election integrity

guards" s/ are carrying AK47s

and checking your vote to make sure it says Putin.

Anne Applebaum/The Atlantic

did her own report on the

election in Russia that didn't

really take place.😉

Please don't anyone admit to being surprised by this.

So presumably trump is all in favor of rigged elections if they result in Putin winning?

Of course he is.

Putin even got a vote from chump.

Good thing the Cyber Ninjas and their ilk aren't as clever as Putin's goons.

There was supposedly a protest vote of people showing up at noon and videos of the crowds. What happened when they came inside to vote?

According to Julia Ioffe, nothing. There weren't enough any real numbers outside Moscow and in Moscow they only made a slight difference in three voting locations.

People really think it may have had an iota of validity. Lordy, when you kill or exile any opposition, no need for all that pseudo election crap…

For inquiring minds.😁

An aside and in reference to

Tom's recent share on climate

change and warming seas.

I am, admittedly, a big NOAA

fan. They have a report on

their site concerning the

temp rise in seas; retreating

ice shelfs; slowing of ocean

currents, etc.

There are over 5 thousand

underwater volcanoes and

sea mounts cooking away,

spilling lava in excess of

2000 degrees into the

ocean floor as well as ash.

It is a contributing factor to

the increase in ocean temps

and all of the above I mentioned.

Mother Earth is a bit upset.

I live in the Florida Keys half the year. The reefs got blasted last year and fish (sadly including the endangered sawfish) this year are, for some reason not really explained, are swimming until death in circles.

Could be a parasite Gail. There's so much going on

in the oceans we have no

experience with. We've dumped so much garbage

and muck into the seas, I'm

surprised we haven't created

some terrible monster...yet.

We’ve got one on land, though.

I wonder how the MIT Elections Lab would deal with the recent electoral event in Russia? Altho I think they focus on U.S. elections.

So fraudulent that I knew the outcome before it happened . . . And I’m not a soothsayer.

And this is unusual how? There has never been an honest vote in Russian or the USSR immediately prior to the "Bolshevik Revolution" the Romanovs ruled with an iron fist of the aristocracy, by the aristocracy, for the aristocracy. Then Lenin had Trotsky murdered so Lenin became the 'new emperor' replacing the murdered Tsar. Lenin was followed by Stalin, Kruschev etc. short break of semi fair followed by Putin. Statistics can be manipulated to p[prove whatever the hell the statistician wants to prove. I studied Stat in college because it was a required subject for biology, chemistry, and physiology. In the real world I believe experimental analysis results - until they change with new data. Science like politics, is never exact.

Trotsky and Lenin were allies. Trotsky became engaged in political argument with the bureaucrat Stalin over his twisting of Lenin's statement about the organization of soviet government in 1924, and was forced to flee Russia. A Stalinist campaign against the "Trotskyites" from then through the show trials ended with Trostsky being assassinated (with an ax embedded in his skull) by a Soviet assassin in Mexico in 1940.

Thank you for the correction TC, I should have remembered it was Stalin not Lenin

Been a long time since any of us were reading Bolshevik history.

Yes, it certainly has, in my case going on fifty years - sadly.

They need a tour of cemeteries where the opposition currently reside. Did the bones of the Romanovs ever make it to a cemetery.

Science and politics may never be exact, but religion is the last word. Hahaha

I'm sure the Russian report on election results was recycled from the last election with a few minor edits. Can't imagine that the families of the conscripted and commandeered Russian men sent to die ignobly in Ukraine would even bother to vote, mush less vote for Putin.
