"Harris showed that she fears nothing and will not back down from the tough questions and choices."

It looks like we have a Prosecuter-in-Chief. The difference could not be starker.

Oh, but Bret Bier did such a good job. (chuckle, chuckle) Just ask his friends on FOX after the interview. lol

Sure, Bret did a good job. He asked his questions and pushed back when he could and didn't let Kamala answer his questions when she went certain ways.

Kamala was courageous going on FAUXNEWS. Trump would crap his pants, get up and leave if he were on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow. That I would love to see.

That would be fun, but an interview with Lawrence O'Donnell might be even more fun.

I agree, Susanna! Lawrence would have no mercy and pull no punches, oh so smoothly. I like him so well and respect his approach and research and his respect for the positon, his audience, and his guests and commentators. I always see him as the voice of reason in the room.

Yes, and knows when and how to hold his fire so his audience can absorb an important point through a moment of quiet. It's a solid technique in rhetoric.

To me the real benefit of this interview is that the Harris campaign has the whole thing on video tape, an allusion that shows my age. She has Fox raising all the talking points and her, Ms President, knocking them down, strongly and well, and delivering her messages. And, the frosting, visuals and editable moments to show in ads, targeted to undecided males and independents, with the FNC logo smack dab there in front of them. She walked out of that "interview" (aka, attempted sabotage) with the whole table stakes. Bookends and hammers to use right up through election day. Bravo.

Ari Melber used some of those snippets on his show yesterday with Sunny Hostin (from The View) as a guest to react to them. Sunny (who is a lawyer and author, of mixed ancestry) knocked down the typical accusation thrown at women who are POC - that they are "angry black women" - declaring Kamala Harris to be "passionate" and knowledgeable. Sunny gave kudos to that "interview" and by doing so, will no doubt bring along the viewers of The View as those same snippets might make their way to that ABC show.

I was worried at the beginning, but once she had a chance to take measure of what Baier's tactics were going to be, and adjust, the rest was very strong. Right off he managed to make himself and Fox look bad (not just rude which many Fox viewers see as strength, but incompetent) by talking over her and not letting her speak which raised the question "is this an interview or a chance for Baier to pontificate"? He could have done it more damagingly by being more succinct ("that wasn't the question", "please answer the question") because she didn't in fact directly address the question, but he fumbled that potential.

She didn't answer the question because it was one of those "provide me with a specific number for this one precise thing I'm going to say is x and you can't possibly have known which of the thousands of stats I'd ask for so you'll look unprepared" gambits. She used the moment to get out her talking points but Independent listeners might have appreciated a simple "I don't think your numbers are right" and being directed to a source for legitimate information first, as she did when she provided her platform address as a resource.

Then, having taken his measure, and possibly with someone from Fox having warned him he was doing too much of the talking for an "interview" and looking bad (remember they were messaging him that it was time to close it up toward the end), there was a span of relative quiet from him and strong responses to questions from her, a span of time during which as he said "we are talking over one another", and then the end when surely Baier felt much more like he'd been put through the wringer than did Ms. Harris. She graciously subsided and smized at him, clearly feeling Good.

I really think the single most important thing about the interview - and this is from a person who values passage of information over tone - is that Kamala Harris came across as strong in the face of pressure from a male who attempted to dominate her and failed. She did manage to confront and correct some misinformation and disinformation, she did get to offer some policy points and where to access more, but all of that has been out there for anyone who really wanted facts. People who might still be undecided haven't tried to compare the candidates on facts, so they must be basing their opinions on "feel" and for those who consciously or subconsciously view females as either weak or strident, she proved herself strong and calm but capable of being dominant against a male attempting to dominate her. Next!

She will not grovel before a Putin or Xi. She does not want to be in their club. She will carry a club.

Woo hoo! I wasn’t able to listen live, so this is a treat. It doesn’t surprise me she did well, though. She is a former prosecutor and used to dealing with egos, liars, schmucks, jerks, etc. Good job and even better move!

The parts of the interview I saw she nailed it. She actually shut Brett down with confidence… and oh … the truth!

I'm watching the interview now on your recommendation. Thank you for that. I wouldn't normally add views to anything from Fox. VP Harris nailed it.

I started to look at the comments; I wouldn't recommend it.

I loved how she answered the anti-trans questions. I hope other democratic candidates were taking notes on how to effectively respond to such questions.

I haven’t listened, but I appreciate your roundup of the interview. It’s particularly disturbing when men interrupt others, mostly women, but I’m happy to hear she called him out and held her own. She will be an outstanding president!

On Lawrence O'Donnell's show tonite, he busted Bret Baier by vividly showing his intentional disinformation & Kamala's aggressive responses in full context.

Lawrence also reported that Faux News has fired the independent Fox crew that was the first network in 2020 to accurately call ARIZONA for Biden.

*** 10/17 Update: HCR reported early this AM that reporters, HADAS GOLD & LIAM REILLY, busted Fox News Corp (FNC), Bret Baier) had packed their audience with co-conspirators ... er ... sorry an 'audience' with active Trump supporters.

The first question [NOT] came from the unidentified president of the 'Fulton County Republican [magats] Women'.

Agit/Prop.

This is from the Meidas Touch Network on YouTube so you don’t have to go to faux but it’s pretty disgusting to watch that obnoxious magnut. Kamala was great. She never raised her voice and just skewered him.

Thanks for posting this TC. You are the main stream media for thinking people.

It is delicious indeed to think that Fox News may have helped Harris to victory. I imagine Cheato couldn't find capital letters big enough for his Untruth Antisocial posts overnight, and his exclamation point on his keyboard may have given out.
