This is such great news. This article describes the difference between malice murder and felony murder, but I still don't know what the consequences for being found guilty of felony murder are? https://www.11alive.com/article/news/crime/ahmaud-arbery/malice-murder-felony-murder-difference-ahmaud-arbery-death-trial/85-d13db692-cff9-4b4d-be73-5eba5ae22054

And does anyone see the irony of a guilty verdict coming from a southern state and a not-guilty verdict coming from a northern state?

YES! Growing up in Lower Alabama, I shared your low expectations AND high hopes, given the sordid history. What a relief! AND that the DA is being held accountable is astounding. There is hope, after all, when there is video...

“Georgia on my mind….”

As we saw when Stacey Abrams started the movement and Pres Biden carried the state and Senators Warnock and Ossoff were elected, the face of Georgia changes. The people of Georgia are not having the nonsense and the tyranny anymore.

And we win.

Thank you TC for bringing the news hot off the griddle. Sizzling!

I worked a contract job in Brunswick, GA. for the Glynn County Schools, back in the '90s. I was very impressed with the gentle enlightenment of the folks I met there. Those with whom I had contact, were mostly white, of course, but there were a few blacks as well, who, seemed to me to be treated with fairness and respect. Of course, I was (and still am) white, so I may have been oblivious to a darker undercurrent, but I don't think so. It was a Christian community in the best sense of the term. They all went to church and Sunday school, and many also, I believe, attended Bible study on Wednesday night. They discussed the meaning of what they had learned in the odd moments where it would seem natural to discuss sports scores, or the odd social event. It was a Mayberry RFD kind of place. As with any community, I suppose there must be an unenlightened element, but given my experience there, it doesn't surprise me that the good folks of Glynn County would not hesitate to convict those three villains for their unspeakable actions.

I was surprised by the verdict. It was the right decision. Having spent 15 years living in Georgia, the residents of that state often get politics and religion very, very wrong. Thanks for getting it right this one time. I hope that bodes well for the future.

I had almost given up hope. The Rittenhorsea$$ debacle left me sick. Hallelujah that the DA is going down too! Couldn't happen to a more deserving and despicable group of racists.

Be nice if a certain Wisconsin judge would go down too
