A beautiful cat, and a beautiful story. I often wonder who rescues who in these circumstances. Seems like creatures come into our lives when we need them, maybe not at the immediate time, but in a future moment. Sending warm and healing wishes to your partner...
My Dad survived 15 years with Parkinson’s, having been triggered he feels from his sextuple bypass at 70 (he was a cardiologist), it was the “frozen moment kind” not the “shakes”. I’m glad Roscoe brings comfort to your wife Jurate as she transitions thru Parkinson’s challenges. My prayers, purrs (from my 6 rescues - 1 yr old to 18) and strength to you both.
I think it's actually moreso. The Alzheimer's patient is eventually "not there." The Parkinson's patient is "there" to the end, and knows the decline they are suffering.
I hope you don't mind that I have been remembering you and Jurate each night in prayer since you first let us know of her Parkinsons.
Tonight's Feline Friday was outstanding in its photos of beautiful Roscoe and its warm story of inter- species care. Bless you TC, bless the brave Jurate, and bless the fabulous Roscoe as you three continue this journey together. This little community you have nurtured here is clearly with you in spirit and support.
What a beautiful cat! He looks almost identical to our cat, Buddy, who was also feral when we adopted him - but we got Buddy from a shelter and he was six months old at the time and had never become socialized, so it was pretty rough with him at first. He's come to accept us, but he'll never be affectionate. But, over the 12 or so years he's been with us, he tolerates us quite well (especially at dinner time) and I even caught him purring once while he was allowing me to pet him!
So very sorry your wife is suffering with Parkinson's. I can't imagine how difficult that must be for you both. Sending warm wishes and good vibes your way.
Having domesticated a lot of feral kittens (we had three females on the property and before we got them and fixed them, there were 20+ kittens over three years - all domesticated and adopted) if you get them in their sixth week when momcat weans them, and then go through a process of slowing adapting them to inside over a week or so, you can turn them into the most domestic cat you ever met. Domestication is really in their DNA. You may find with Buddy that he will eventually give you a couple years of trust before he departs; domesticating a full feral is a long process.
What a beautiful story. Roscoe giving so much love to Jurate after so much love she has given him. “The love you take is equal to the love you make” Paul McCartney said it well. Our animal friends can teach us so much. They are much better humans than we are. Thank you TC❤️
What a beautiful post. Animals save us, they help us be better humans for sure. I really love feline Fridays as all your posts. Best wishes to you and Jurate.
Sending warm comforting thoughts to all at Chateau du Chat. I just had the memorial service (last Saturday) for my husband, who died of Parkinson’s-related causes. A heart-breaking disease.
What an awesome human being Jurate is, every two hours. With such dedication, he could only thrive. He is returning the love, as all pets do if given the chance.
I really like the way Jurate created the heartbeat with the ticking clock. That was very thoughtful. Wonderful how that love is being returned. Did you take the terrific photos of Roscoe? Thank goodness you’re posting FF; it really helps. ❤️

Unfortunately, Parkinson's has no healing.

Thank you.
As heartbreaking as Alz, snatch all the love and purring that you can.

❤❤ The photos are lovely. Thank you for sharing the story and the pictures.

What a sweet, handsome and kind hearted fellow. This story was the perfect antidote for this week. Thank you!

We'll take all the help we can get, Carol. Thank you.

The story of the little runt Roscoe growing up to be a prince truly purred at the vision of Jurate and Roscoe playing together.

What a beautiful & handsome boy!! ❤️

I (heart) Roscoe. What a lovely story! Thank you so much! Yes - a BP relief for sure.

Yes, my shots.
Another wonderful kitty. Glad your wife has Roscoe for comfort.
Beautiful cat, lovely story! All ours are ferals or abandoned animals who found their way into our house and into our hearts.
Pets rule our lives back east. Have for decades. For good reason. Invariably they give more than they get. Thanks for Feline Friday.
