El Jefe del Mar A Lardo had another bad day in the hearings of the Special Committee to Investigate the January 6, 2021 Attack on the Congress. The big takeaway is: Trump Knew From The Outset That He Was Lying About The Election Being Stolen. In her opening statement on the second day of the January 6th Select Committee hearings, Republican Rep. Liz Cheney said:
I thought I sort of understood why it's so important whether or not he KNEW he was lying, but no longer do. bottom line is that he perfectly well knew that he was behaving in a way no one in this country has ever behaved. I'm not even talking about the fraud (Mark Meadows has a fucking FOUNDATION?? that coked-out whore got a huge speaker's fee???). I'm saying this because I'm absolutely convinced that by the middle of the second day he was pushing the bullshit, The Fat Fuck absolutely believed what he was saying and, while I never thought I'd EVER be quoting Bill Barr, his assessment seemed pretty on the money...either he knew he was lying or he was "divorced from reality." in both these cases, he is not competent to be president. of course, none of this means a thing to his minions. I chortled at the class action suit for a second but really do feel that if anybody gave money to finance the Lost Cause of The Big Steal, they deserve to lose it. and today's news about the Stock Market was (for me anyway) a really swell dessert.
Again, I'm thoroughly enraptured by this updated revision of Soap and so pleased the writers have maintained the tradition of keeping the best satire for Benson. Absolutely loved his repeated recognitions of the "young woman from California."
Worryingly these hearings are giving cause to an optimism, last stirred on the eve Obama first termed, that good and right is prevailing. Age brings scepticism as repetition proves expectations often deflate with disappointment.
Oh well, I'd like to share the proposed Select Committee Hearing theme song I whistle along to during the recess (and in my head afterwards).
I cannot forget for a second Merrick Garland’s little smile of an expression when he said “I’ll be watching all the hearings”. Or the tinge of sarcasm occasionally in Rep Lofgren’s voice.
The committee has pulled the curtain open on the clown show. With more to come.
There is a part of me that is just cringing with embarrassment that this shit went on in the White House with nothing to stop it and with so many allowing it. There’s an element of disgust to it that makes me spit to get the bitter taste out of my mouth.
I’d like to know what President Biden and every living president before him is really thinking. About the man that the American electoral system elected and what that term of presidency really did to our country.
If I never had to look at Trump’s face again or hear one more f*cking thing about him, I’d cheer for the irrelevant place trump occupies.
Yeah … he’s in the scam for 250 million. I hope it leaves the Republican Party in shambles … I’ve been divorced twice (cheaters) and have never felt this vindictive.

What the Committee is doing for me is pulling together the disparate pieces we have gotten from our fractured information sources since Jan 6th. This is a clear, step-by-step laying out of a case that is also putting the puzzle together! It is a skillful use of primary source material and news and independent video/film clips, strategically placed to support the understandable and well delivered narrative. Really delinieating the contours of the issues at hand. Beginning by laying out the 7-step Big Lie strategy was brilliant.
This should help Merrick Garland and any State getting ready to bring suit!!
This: "The Big Lie was also the “Big Ripoff”: Trump and his closest advisors knew the vote fraud claims were false and continued to push them up until the violence on January 6th, raising money to “continue the fight.”
I was glued to the TV and I thought I heard someone, maybe Lofgren, report that the campaign was sending out as many as 20 emails a day begging for donations and the last email sent out was 30 minutes before the attack on the Capitol. Did I imagine this? If so, this meant someone in the digital world was calculating that the attack would be successful and that there would be no reason to "campaign" after the overthrow. As I write this, I think I've been reading too many mystery novels!
I wonder what more will unfold in four more hearings....I hope evidence against certain Congress persons.
It’s enough to give an enterprising lawyer an idea for a class action lawsuit.

Second Cause of Action: Breach of Constructive Trust
