DARTH VADER SAYS HE WILL VOTE FOR KAMALA HARRIS

My gob has now officially not been smacked - it has been launched into orbit.

Today at the Texas Tribune Conference in Austin, Liz Cheney was asked by moderator Mark Leibowitz if she could say anything about who her father would be voting for this year.

She replied, “My father will be voting for Kamala Harris.”

Dick Cheney will vote for Kamala Harris!!

The man has long been “Darth Vader” personified to me and to other Democrats, including - I am sure - a majority of the readers here at That’s Another Fine Mess.

Liz would never have said that had she not discussed her pending public announcement she was supporting KamalaHarris with her father, and had he not agreed with her that it was time to make his decision public.

This is a Big. Fucking. Deal.

As Nicolle Wallace said on her show, this leaves all the former Trump Administration Republicans who have broken with Trump with one question:

Now that Dick Cheney has made this public statement, what are you going to do?

This. Is. A. Big. Big. Big. Fucking. Deal.

The pro-Democracy, pro-Constitution Movement now stretches from Bernie Sanders and AOC to Liz and Dick Cheney.

As the other commenters on Nicolle’s show pointed out, this is truly unprecedented. Rev. Al Sharpton said that if there was one thing he would never have dreamed he would hear, this was it.

Dick Cheney is the embodiment of the Reagan Republican Hawk. This gives permission to every single “traditional Republican” to take the same position.

This destroys Trump’s pathetic attempts to destroy Kamala Harris by calling her far left, as socialist, or a communist. The Cheney announcement literally yanks the rug out from under Trump’s feet that he has stood on while claiming he is the “pro-America” candidate. It leaves him exposed as the fraud he has always been.

Dick Cheney has told all the people who hate Trump but couldn’t bring themselves to say they could vote for a Democrat that keeping Donald Trump away from the White House forever is so important that doing so is the only action they can take.

This truly is a Political Earthquake.

Dick Cheney, of all people, has shown everyone what Country Over Party means.

“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.

“As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.”

It is going to be interesting to watch what the result of this will be in coming weeks.
