Eighty million voters spoke from the ballot box in 2020. Twelve citizens spoke from the jury box today.

Evidence is growing that America has not, in fact, lost its true voice.

I was watching as the verdict was relayed to the newsdesk...it was a glorious moment, it must be said!!! Of course we'll have to watch the machinations as he gathers a new team to appeal (does he get to judge shop?) but the statement he gave before he stomped away was the usual fact-free, accusatory, blame-casting claims of "rigged trial" that he always spews. But boyhowdy, did he ever look furious.

There's gonna be catsup on the walls where ever the Mangolini spends the night.

I can only imagine the rampaging china-throwing chair-tossing ear-shattering kicking and screaming tantrum that is going on right at this moment (6:28pm). His attorneys had better have worn their bullet-proof vests and underwear today! Never mind ketchup. Everyone around him will be lucky if it isn't their blood on the walls. Hell hath no fury like an orange man baby convicted.

If there was a way he could appeal to Judge Kacsmaryk in Texas, I'm sure he'd do it -- but I'm not sure New York and Texas have diplomatic relations at this point. <g>

I'm sure you are correct. Fortunately, he cannot judge-shop a state trial and his appeal process can only go as far as the New York Supreme Court, not to "his" Supreme Court.

In his post-verdict whining Trump was right about one thing, that the nation is in decline, but it's because one major political party now has a convicted felon (among other things) as its presidential nominee. How did we spiral down so far? Thank goodness Biden/Harris nosed us up in 2020, and may they do it again in November.

Yes, Tom, and I am doing my happy dance!!! I will be forever indebted to the 12 American loyalists who had the honesty and courage to find the EX-president guilty of FELONY fraud. One of the happiest days of my life.

Me, too, New York has enough police officers. Although, I would personally prefer to see the Secret Service agents assigned to protect trump reassigned to protect the 12 jurors and their families.

Yes, in fairness, I'd prefer they were guarding the jurors and their families. At least those people are loyal Americans - which is more than we can say of trump.

This is the best news I've heard in a long time! I felt strongly that it would be guilty on all counts but didn't expect it so quickly! Huzzah to the Prosecutors (extremely skilled), Judge Merchan (masterful!!), and most of all those 18 jurors for taking the risk to do their civic duty. I pray they will stay safe and that none of them will find themselves crosswise with the country's newest felon. BTW, have you noted that NONE of the alternate jurors had to be used. None of the jurors had to be excused for any reason. They hung in there and did their duty. Huzzah!!
