With the release last night of the latest batch of transcripts of the interviews with witnesses to Donald Trump’s acts of treason, Cassidy Hutchinson moves far past Alexander Butterfield in this monstrous tale.
I agree completely that Ms. Hutchinson should be very closely guarded in whatever passes for a safe house when the Secret Service appears to be party to the conspiracy.
Curious of the fall out from the Capital Police failure to notice the Pelosi intrusion in San Francisco. Especially poignant considering the spotlight I assumed they were under.
I haven't seen or heard anything about the incident or about Mr. Pelosi's recovery. Maybe the spotlight got swept under the rug along with the perpetrator.
It's my understanding that the Capitol Police had live-feed cameras at the Pelosi home in SF but no one was watching because Speaker Pelosi wasn't there.
I remember seeing that report too. There are probably practical reasons why 24 hour coverage on the families of VIPs isn't done but one would think that at least there should be a 'panic button' in the house that would signal the Police monitoring station if something happened.
That was my thought also, Dave. Who can be trusted to make sure this woman is safe? Anything that happens to her should immediately be suspect. Let's hope that doesn't happen. But there are obviously few places that are safe in this country if you have a politically placed target on your back.
Who can be trusted to keep her safe, our security services have holes the size of Everest. The stakes are the highest in my lifetime. I always wondered about how people with integrity could work for chump. They are rare as hen’s teeth.
I sorta hope that I'm not the only one who's harbored profound doubts about the Secret Service. their whole trip has ALWAYS struck me as more than a little hermetic and hermetic shit is only a foot or two away from cultist shit. can anyone name ANY public agency (especially one involved with criminality, law enforcement, etc.) for which a lack of transparency has been a good thing? and yeah, I know they've been covering up all kinds of stuff forever, but for the most part, it's been PERSONAL stuff (Wilson and JFK's womanizing, Wilson's womanizing, Gore's love of weed, etc.). at least as far as we know. TFF took it to a whole new level, and mostly on the level of dangerous political shit, but we know that. this whole thing with hiring Ornato to buy his silence...it's almost out of "Duck Soup." except that "Duck Soup" is very, very funny; seeing it will make most of us feel a little lighter and younger. anything relating to TFF has the opposite effect, and that's not including the vast, possibly irreversible harm to the Republic. I realize that this is like the old "Aside from that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln" joke.
and, having read almost every word of Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony (with the exception of the very last transcript, which is for tomorrow) I'm down for giving her whichever medal is available. and I sure hope she has a HUGE book deal. and a movie deal. and anything else that'll help her out. I have the feeling she'll end up working for Liz Cheney, since they seem to be pretty close now. I wish she'd turn a lot farther left, but I don't think that's gonna happen, alas.
and yeah, the parallel is certainly John Dean. has he been a talking head on tv anywhere? I'd love to hear his take on all this.
I'm fine with her being a conservative, as I now am with Cheney, having found that Cheney and I see eye to eye on the Important Shit - about keeping this democratic constitutional republic a democratic constitutional republic. And the same is true of Hutchinson. It turns out the eagle can't fly on just one wing. Disagreement doesn't have to be dislike - down that path, you get to where we are now.
One of my fave mottos….as you put it, TC… “Disagreement doesn’t have to be dislike - down that path, you get to where we are now.”
So true. I urge to others when talking with fam or friends….Disagree all you want. That’s part of a true friendship that survives in spite of difference of opinion. To do otherwise puts us all in different corners and moves us away from the center of Democracy.
Yeah, she's very impressive. Everyone who knew her in the White House tells stories of being impressed by her. People in their mid-20s usually don't end up the main assistant to the White House Chief of Staff. Say what you will about Meadows, and about the quality of people attracted to working in the Trump Administration, but it's still a fact she is one of those who is head-and-shoulders above their contemporaries.
Cassidy Hutchinson truly is an American Hero on all counts. And like numerous posters here I hope that she is under a VERY secure protection program. Her life is changed forever by her truthfulness. She deserves a Medal of Honor (of some sort/authority)! The Trump mobsters will be after her forever. The words and actions of her Trumpist lawyer are despicable -- I hope he winds up in the slammer for a long long time---a mob lawyer/enforcer if there ever was one. THANK YOU TC for another brilliant essay--- "... let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream" (Amos 5:24)
I was treated professionally by the uniformed secret service when sixteen a friend of mine and I pretended to climb the White House South Lawn fence at night. They were professional and scared the shit out of two State Department brats.
Years later as a Presidential Helo co-pilot I lost respect for the gunslinging prima-donnas.
Like you said, I hope she is under guard now and for the foreseeable future. Her testimony is sure to incriminate a lot of powerful people, some of whom are in cahoots with other foreign nationals, particularly a country where problem people have a tendency for fatal defenestrations…
...and now Meadow is in dutch, which is fine with me. in her testimony, he comes across as....is it allowed to say "whiny little bitch (with all that "oooo he's mad at me shit)?" if it's not, I can come up with something else. and as long as I'm here, wtf did TFF mean when he interjected "I love Pennsylvania Avenue" in his little "fight like hell" talk? that was very much a rhetorical question.
Thank you, as always for these insightful posts. Every single time I finish one all I can think is WOW. Also love Feline Fridays and the history lessons. So happy I subscribed!
Sometimes men in power don`t actually " see" the young women who are in subservient roles to them. They depend on them to carry out their orders ( as Meadows did with Cassidy) or, at times, notice them in order to objectify them. But they quite often underestimate their presence and observational skills.
It has struck me that the strength of Cassidy Hutchinson`s testimony is that hers is a first-hand account. She was actually present- first source witness- to conversations, decisions, behaviors and reports. She also tried, to no avail, to get Meadows to move off his phone and couch and in to Trump to stop the assault on the Capitol and Congress.
Without the fiduciary constraints of a lawyer like Cipollone she was completely free to tell what she saw and heard. But her real integrity and smarts came when she recognized and freed herself ( at potentially great personal cost) from the orchestrated manipulation of the first attorney.
I know for sure that I did not have her level of integrity when I was her age!! Amazing.
I don’t have any idea if she’s writing a book or not. But I admire her for testifying and telling the truth when it mattered. Unlike so many other scumbags that kept their mouth shut until they got a book deal.
We all are. I think we had a blue wave mini and that makes me more comfortable. The problem is a Niagara Falls of terrible failures that overwhelm. I am trying very hard to stay clear of the juicy political stories hoping I will heal. Ugh.
A brave young woman indeed. There will be much more for her to do before this is over. Showing support will help her fight the good fight. She certainly has my support. Her parents should be very proud.
Well, from reading the transcripts, Hutchinson is a child of divorce, and while her mother appears to be supportive (whether she agrees with her daughter or not is unclear), her father - "with whom I have no relationship" as she put it - is a major Trumper, and when she was reduced to going to him to ask for money to get a lawyer after exhausting all other possibilities, he turned her down and told her she was wrong to harm the president. One can see 500 good reasons in that account for her to have "no relationship" with the asshole.
"I for one hope she is under 24-hour armed guard and in some sort of witness protection program" Hopefully, there is/are someone/s trustworthy enough to do so. Not to be toooo morose, but there are a lot of people falling out of windows lately. I do worry about her safety.
I have (my heathen) faith Cassidy Hutchinson is safe and will be ok..I’ve only read J6 exec summary but still surprised how Jeffrey Clark got so far with only a slap on the wrist from Rosen.
TC, also would like to hear ,at some point ,your thoughts about Cippalone, the devout Catholic and best buddy of Laura Ingraham. Cassidy is testing his faith ??
I agree completely that Ms. Hutchinson should be very closely guarded in whatever passes for a safe house when the Secret Service appears to be party to the conspiracy.

Paul Pelosi has recovered, and the idiot is being held without bail in the SF County jail awaiting trial.
Thanks TC.
The county jail? Huh...interesting. I would have thought he would have been in a higher security place, but what do I know?
It's harder to commit suicide in higher security lockups.
It's my understanding that the Capitol Police had live-feed cameras at the Pelosi home in SF but no one was watching because Speaker Pelosi wasn't there.

Unfortunately, you're quite right Alexander and I don't have any ideas other than hoping and praying for the best.

It's one I had to re-learn, as I suspect a lot of us did over the past seven+ years.
point very well taken, Tom.

Yes, an excellent piece of reporting.
In Hutchinson's case, she was young and inexperienced, but apparently learned quickly.
And one with courage even moreso.
I wonder how much incriminating evidence went up in flames at the White House and Mar-a-Lago.
considering what DIDN'T go up in flames, my brain reels and aches.
Yes, and of the intact top secret documents, we don't know who in the world may have some.
Cassidy Hutchinson truly is an American Hero on all counts. And like numerous posters here I hope that she is under a VERY secure protection program. Her life is changed forever by her truthfulness. Cassy Hutchinson is a profile in courage and integrity.
I was treated professionally by the uniformed secret service when sixteen a friend of mine and I pretended to climb the White House South Lawn fence at night. They were professional and scared the shit out of two State Department brats.

Just Cass? Is there no one else that will come forward and tell the truth?
There are others, who mostly confirm her reports. But she's the main one, because she was Meadows' prime aide.
...and now Meadow is in dutch, which is fine with me. in her testimony, he comes across as....is it allowed to say "whiny little bitch (with all that "oooo he's mad at me shit)?" if it's not, I can come up with something else. and as long as I'm here, wtf did TFF mean when he interjected "I love Pennsylvania Avenue" in his little "fight like hell" talk? that was very much a rhetorical question.
DOJ probably squeezing more up the chain I hope. “Would u like to be a witness or a co-conspirator/defendant?”

Yes, she's a role model for more than girls and young women.
CASSIDY HUTICHINSON is likely working on a book. A blockbuster money maker and worth every penny.
I don’t have any idea if she’s writing a book or not. But I admire her for testifying and telling the truth when it mattered. Unlike so many other scumbags that kept their mouth shut until they got a book deal.
Correct. I was not taking anything from her: she is amazing.
I think I knew that. Apparently I’m a little touchy today.
We all are. I think we had a blue wave mini and that makes me more comfortable. The problem is a Niagara Falls of terrible failures that overwhelm. I am trying very hard to stay clear of the juicy political stories hoping I will heal. Ugh.

Oh, and also - Thank you very much, Dawn.
What a creep! Well I appreciate her even more knowing this.

Cippolone was smart enough to wear gloves and keep his fingerprints off the merchandise.
If only those white gloves could talk…Forgive me Father for “ I see nothing ! I hear nothing know nothing !”
Haven't seen reference what what you refer to about Cippolone (have not read a lot of the original documentation). Thanks in advance for info....
Robert Hubbell recommends today in his newsletter for readers to tune into “That’s Another Fine Mess”” by TC to get the scoop on Cassidy Hutchinson.
