Hey, all that Jordan and the rest of the GQP morons in Congress are there for in Washington, DC, is to perform kabuki theater productions to convince their brain dead constituents who voted for them that they are doing something about the big boogeyman Deep State monster that is destroying their “Freedumbs” with the assistance of the insanely rich and mighty George Soros as well as the all powerful pervasive influence of the woke radical libruls…that about covers it…That’s why it’s so nice to see someone call these assholes’ bluff and expose them as the clueless nimrods that they truly are. If they were any type of actual Congresscritter they would know about the separation of powers in our government system and where states’ rights (one of their favorite talking points) have the upper hand over Federal government overreach (another of the GQP’s faves).

I haven't heard "Nimrods" used that way for a long time, and when you used it, I realized how much I missed it.

it certainly applies to Jordan, who's about as close to being a waste of flesh, oxygen and unused brain cells as earthbound life forms get.

You can thank Bugs Bunny for that…using nimrod as a pejorative in one of Warner Bros. Merrie Melody cartoons way way back in the late 30s/early 40s.

I totally didn't know that...I thought it was some kind of 19th century thing.

It was during the cartoon “A Wild Hare” where Bugs derided Elmer Fudd’s hunting skills by calling him a poor little Nimrod, a kinda obscure reference to a Biblical character who was mentioned as a mighty hunter, something Elmer Fudd certainly wasn’t. Over time the name nimrod became a term for an inept, clumsy person. Bugs inherited most of his character from the persona of the cartoon’s director, Tex Avery, then called Fred Avery when he worked for Warner Brothers.

thanks, Dennis. this is exactly the kind of information I LOVE.

for me, one of the great cultural reference points is "Henpecked Duck." the expression on Daffy's face as he approaches the bench never fails to make me laugh HARD. I can also do a pretty good version of his wife's "I want a Di-vo-orce!"

Their “talking points” only work as cudgels to slay sanity. Poor old George seems to be the only billionaire to publicly help Dems, so he’s an easier target than all the oligarchs and dark money flowing into republican war chests. Where’s the “sound bite” in Bragg’s letter…. I like yours

The whole letter is the "sound bite."
