For those who were running their mouths last week, telling anyone who saw a greater threat in the language of Alito’s draft overthrow of Roe v Wade, that might threaten other rights founded in the right of privacy, that they were being “hysterical,” the following is submitted for your review:
Ya know for those too naive and willfully stupid to the acknowledge the beginning of the end for any human right not enjoyed by the white, Christo fascists, cis males, some songwriter wrote: "it doesn't take a weatherman to say which way the wind blows". I wonder what happened to him. Seemed very talented.
The Republican push to erode our rights as citizens, including the right to vote, the right to choose our candidates, the right to make our own health decisions, and more, reminds me of the creation of the Grand Canyon. Gradually, layer by layer, the Colorado River carved out a mighty chasm.
the way I deal with this is to keep telling myself that they're overreaching. which they clearly ARE, and eventually, enough people are gonna be pissed off enough that these laws will go away. I realize this is wishful thinking writ large, but being enraged all the time feels really terrible.
Wherever there is a crack in the roof, water flows in to damage all that it immediately covers and anything else in the path of the water. Abortion, woman's health care, unwanted children, contraceptives, freedom of choice over one's own body and sexual identity, who is protected from ideological persecution, Title IX athletes, right to vote, equality under the law, who has a say in what are rights and protections, property ownership, and so on until they get to that right you thought was a given. Some of us will be dead before then, so like Billy Wilders friends, won't matter to us.
Killed By The Clowns … title of this movie, where a legacy of lies slides our civilization into environemental collapse, with the clowns trying to distract us by devising the collapse of our culture.
I’m still kinda outa words to express myself these days. Most of them tend to be the type that would draw unwanted attention to me from the various agencies responsible for makings sure mycky-mucks don’t end up six feet under.
