Thank you! I've come to think of the pundits/columnists/talking heads (more or less overlapping on a Venn diagram, but I digress) as chattering class Tinkerbells.

They'll die if you don't clap hard enough/click enough/wring your hands enough. In this attention economy, clicks = oxygen, and without that, the fire dies.

We will prevail.

Thank you for this. It helps. It truly does and it can't be said often or loud enough. The most depressing thing about the debate was Trump's lies, one after another, after another. That was the most morally offensive nonsense I ever heard and I turned it off after five minutes. We do have to buck up and we do have to come up with a plan and unite around it. Thank you again.

Thanks Tom. I'm a subscriber

to Lucian's Substack. He, like

you, says it like it is.

This is my country too and I'm

not leaving it. I will resist with

every fiber in my body and

blood. You have to stand up

or you'll fall down for

anything. I refuse to.

There are more of us then

them and they've poked the

wrong hornets nest.

I agree that trump will have trouble passing 2025 by executive order. But I think we need to flog everywhere the idea that he MIGHT.

I can see trump using his "core power" over the miltiary/national guard to shut down the NYT and other places--even Fox--that might try to criticize anything he does or says. And I can see Thomas/Alito and buddies finding that the First Amendment doesn't include the word "president."

Yes, I love this column, am enthusiastic over both TCinLA and Lucian Truscott, and believe them when they say there would be too much resistance for quite All of the agenda 2025 to take over, but I also remember how many times Trump got away with things that experts repeatedly said weren't possible, even legal, and despite much outcry. I remember how little massive indignation affects those who simply don't care when there is no one to bring charges or court cases or enforcement. I want to believe every word of this, I believe much of it, I do find comfort in this, but I also have reservations and agree it might be best if people believe at least some of their 2025 plans will be enacted and behave as if it's better safe than sorry.

agree. He's already done Schedule F. And if he did so something illegal, would his loyalist DOJ do anything to stop it? We have to keep shouting about the danger BECAUSE he got away with so much with a complaisant DOJ.

Thanks, just read his substack, and was encouraged! Aside from that, Viva La France! 🇫🇷 The National Rally is on the slide!

Democrats and all Americans need Strength of the Heart.

Whether you like him or not, President Biden holds open a window for us to climb through in November and emerge into a free and open society in which possibility can still reign and a way of life for which thousands of our forbearers fought and died, continues on.

Hold fast to the ideals and promise of an America we can all have stake in, an America that belongs to all of us and not just to a king and his wealthy cronies.

Do we fold our tent, end our experiment, wash our hands of freedom and leave a life of oppression & misery to our kids after just three, short eighty-year lifetimes of struggle and progress?

Trump holds open the window to a dystopian future: Oligarchy, jackboot authoritarianism, rejection of basic rights, ignorance, cruelty to all minorities, theocracy, denial of reproductive freedom, the collapse of Ukraine and Europe . . . disregard for looming climactic catastrophe, affordable health care, Social Security and Medicare, workers’ rights, public education & more.

We can change horses, if needed, after the election.

Hang together now or hang separately later. Vote while you still can.

He's right. And all this hand wringing and angst over imagined and completely unsubstantiated "cognitive decline" is a waste of time and energy. And frankly, those who are so eager to jump ship just show me someone I would never trust to have MY back. Give me someone with a spine and the grit and integrity to fight the good fight anyday. That's my team of choice. I am ridin' with Biden to victory in November.

Churchill knew that “it is not of much use to be a pessimist.” So give optimism a chance. He also said that “success is stumbling from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” Or something like that. So get to it Dems, and ALL of us.

Thank you for posting this article by Lucian Truscott. He is absolutely correct. There is only one way he can possibly win - FRAUD. If as they threatened several of his maggot governors prepare slates of electors IN ADVANCE of the election and throw out the States ballots, yeah they could win the electoral college by a squeak. I truly don't think that will happen.

One thing kind of funny. Lucian's reference to the Delaware running backwards. There is a spot in California where the Truckee River appears to be running up hill. It isn't of course, it's an optical illusion caused by the surrounding terrain; but standing there you would swear the river is running up hill instead of level with the terrain.
