Oh, love, tell us what you really think!!! Use your words! Let it out, don’t keep it bottled up inside of you! 😉

I was about to say...

it probably really does feel great to know that the object of your derision is actually reading what you have to say to him.

and let's face it...of all the publicity-frenzied billionaires out there, Musk is easily the most hateful. but he's also the most vulnerable...I think he actually might, on some level, actually sometimes care what people think.

🤣🤣🤣 People are staring at me in the office wondering why I’m laughing so hard! This is golden in so many ways.

I think you were too nice to him myself!

Whoa…my iPad is burning up from the invective being hurled at today’s Horatio Alger’s Poster Boy and financial genius prototype of the hour. Such a genius that he bought a successful social media platform for $44B and change, gutted it of both developers and engineers where it’s lost money, customers, and stock value and now is worth around $8B but still bleeding $$$ from lost revenue…such a genius! Sounds almost like another super bigly financial wizard living in a dumpster of a resort in Floriduh…except Musk actually is a billionaire…not a very smart one, but still…

But how do you REALLY feel?

Good morning TC! I've been subscribing for free for quite a while now - thoroughly enjoying your writing, while sitting on the fence. Today's note to Elon had me laughing so hard I fell off the fence! I probably won't comment much, but I'm happy to be a part of your community. I do so appreciate your knowledge on so many topics, and of course, your sense of humor! 😁

Beautiful! This take-it-to-the-streets-and-kick-ass-post is why I subscribe to your Substack rather than follow you. That's what needs to happen all across America. Ten Years after put it to music, what, 10 years ago times 6. "Tax the rich; feed the poor; until there are no rich no more." Native Americans, at least the ones that were here when Columbus arrived, didn't tolerate a rich asshole class, but we failed to learn that lesson, not to mention the ecological lessons that have got us into such a mess.

Me, too. I blocked him. He is looking for a fight, ready to troll, not “follow.” It’s a page from tRump. He’ll turn his attorneys out to squelch free speech.

Months ago, supposedly Elon Musk started following me on Substack. I don't author any kind of newsletter. It was odd and creepy so I complained to Substack. They removed whoever it was. My brother said it probably wasn't actually the creep himself, but some other creep.

That's likely the case here too.

I received notice of a follower on Substack, and I too do not write a newsletter. It was someone I never heard of. Strange, I did not know it was possible. If I wanted to follow you, Joan, I have no idea how to do it. I would just keep scrolling until I found your posts. I don’t know any other way.

I had a similar experience, a follower, but I had nothing to read. So I took a look at the profile, the person was reading a Newsletter that I frequently commented on. I decided to post something that was, me in a nutshell . I mentioned that I had one follower, In my first post, so I felt I need to have something to read, just so this individual would know I had posted something. This turned out very well for me, I am now writing more than I ever have, with more intent, and focus on a project. What was once just a notion has turned into a work that I love, and given me a unique friendship, and wise guidance when I did not know that I needed it.

There's followers and then there's schmucks. You got a follower. I'm wondering if "Elon musk" (that's the way it's written) might not be the infamous "Frank Lee" (among this troll's many other aliases).

"he" decided to follow me, too. Since on the internet no one knows you're a dog, no one knows if you are impersonating one, either.

You don't have to tell him he'll die when he gets to Mars. Without the kinds of equipment NASA would send with astronauts to preserve them from Mars' harms, including deadly radiation, a quick death is inevitable. Mars is so cold it makes Antarctica seem tropical. Nothing can grow on Mars no matter how many times Musk recites the magical incantation, "terraform."

It's too damn cold, and ecosystems, which would have to grow on Mars, are far too complex to happen on human timescales, even if Mars could be quickly warmed up to habitable temperatures. Teslas are ugly inside and out, and often poorly made, but they are simpler than bacteria, and far simpler than ecosystems.

Musk is smart. But he makes a mistake that a lot of Nobel winners make (and Elon's not a Nobel winner). They think they can make pronouncements on any issue, no matter how unrelated to their area of concentration. Most of them only make fools of themselves. That sums it up for Elon.

Elmo. Over at Emptywheel is was determined a while back that the best mocking name for Elon is Elmo, and I can't argue with that.
