I first met Jackson Browne back in 1967, when he was this kid living in the studio in the rear of “The Compound,” the artists colony/cheap apartment complex (it was in West Hollywood, which with the word “cheap” tells you it was a loonnnnggggg time ago) managed by my then-new friend Karl Metzenberg, who ran the best used bookstore in Westwood Village when it really was - a village.
Love this! I've met him a few times, and he is such a gentleman, very kind, and caring. As well as one of my favorite musicians. Thanks for the background!!!
This is really my wife speaking (Sue Snyder) as when she paid her subscription and we were messing with our log ins, it somehow transferred to my account. Technology!!!
while JB's not one of my favorite half-dozen or so acts, I really do still think of "Running On Empty" as the Great John Ford Movie of Rock Albums. I caught JB a few years back (when I could still drive) at Jones Beach; he opened for John Fogarty (CCR IS up there, as I assume it is for EVERYBODY). it was an excellent show, even if I still hate rock concerts and attribute my terrible hearing to having attended many too many, even if they were ALWAYS TOO LOUD (The Band being the one fabulous exception).
I am eternally grateful to you TC for the Jackson Brown link in your post. I found out through that he is playing at McMenamins Edgefield in Troutdale, Oregon just outside of Portland and about 40 miles from Hood River, where I live. Tickets are bought.
He has always been my favorite. Still going strong.
Mmmmm. Love me some Jackson Browne. Tender is the Night. Amazing slide guitar.
Such a terrific songwriter. I think he collaborated with some early Eagles music.
Nice interlude, TC!

Haha, and now the comment is under Sue. And thanks, TCinLA, for the inspiring posts. BTW, we are seeing him this Sunday at the Mann in Philly. Yay!
My whole life, “Caught between the longing for love and the struggle for legal tender."

I have a few Jackson Browne selections on one of my playlists.
