Hilarious, especially watched in that order. Now “Star Wars” directed by John Ford might be an improvement...

To be serious for a moment, these satires actually make me realize how good a director Stanley Kubrick truly was. He took a story which, to be honest, consisted of only 7 scenes and was able to stretch it to nearly three hours and still keep our interest.

I remember going to see 2001:A Space Odyssey at the local Cinerama theater with the big curved screen and the stereo sound system…that was pretty mind blowing for 1968, but now seeing what can be done today with a home computer and CGI…wow! I wonder how Kubrick could have handled Jar Jar Binks, though? LOL

That was great! I saw 2001 at the theater in 1960 something. What a great concept intertwine the two directors and movies. Stanley Kubrick was one of the greats. I loved Dr Strangelove. All of his films are classics

Must have been one of those "hazy" years, eh? :-)

It came out the summer of 1968. Everybody I knew was dropping acid to go see it.

Brilliant! Both of my all time favourite and lesser liked sci-fi movies hilariously transposed. Thanks for sharing TC.

I have something reciprocal for anyone with time to fill while staying inside out of the weather. There is a genius going by the name of Bill McClintock, with a youtube channel, who mixes music and video from completely disparate genres and artists into some truly amazing montages, throwing in guitar solos from third and fourth songs along the way. Leaning mostly towards rock and pop combinations, country is noticeably not really "his thing." I think there should be something among his hundred-plus videos to delight and dismay everyone, though. They are worthy of viewing and hearing on a big screen with the sound up.

My favourite is this blending of "Wish It Would Rain" by The Temptations with "Burn" by Deep Purple, which proves beyond doubt that David Ruffin was a rock singer born ahead of his time. https://youtu.be/BpUFShYYGug
