Things had gone from bad to worse in the nine days since the German offensive in the West had overturned Allied expectations that they could hold against the attacks.
Where are our men of honor…. Not in our government, or so few as to be invisible. Rise up, join Bruce in telling the truth about the leeches who are sucking the life out of America.
Yes, I hope others speak out and often as Bruce, Neil Young and others are doing. I think a good part of the world realizes that Trumpism is a scourge and there are many more good Americans that oppose this turn to fascism.
Phenomenal. A different time, a different scene, and yet the exhortations strike at the heart of the preservations we ourselves seek now.
Churchill opens with these words:
“I speak to you for the first time as Prime Minister in a solemn hour for the life of our country, of our empire, of our allies, and, above all, of the cause of Freedom…”
Thanks, Tom. I have been an admirer of Winston Churchill since 1940 when he took the reins of the British Government into his hands. We were living in Montreal by then. I was 7 and distinctly remember listening the the "bulldog" as he was known then on our radio in the kitchen.
"We have differed and quarreled in the past; but now one bond unites us all - to wage war until victory is won, and never to surrender ourselves to servitude and shame, whatever the cost and the agony may be. This is one of the most awe-striking periods in the long history of France and Britain." These words of wisdom are as applicable in America, today as they were in 1940.
Absolutely, Fay! MSNBC, perhaps Rachel or Lawrence, could honor the anniversary and Winston Churchill by replaying his “Be Ye Men of Valour” speech, and discussing its application today.
Inspirational at a time when we need to be courageous, to be honorable people and to stand against tyranny. Thanks Tom, these are the right words for the moment.
We are talking about the time he joined arms with Roosevelt & Stalin to rise against Hitler. Yes, where are the powerful leaders now ? May some good people make their way through . We need them now. Thanks TC.

The crazy 60’s had music accompaniment if I recall. And it mattered

This resonates now, in all aspects.
Hear hear!

And we need more “men” of honor right now.
