On the same day that the Republican governor of Ohio sent 36 state police officers to 17 schools in Springfield Ohio after the Trump-Vance ticket made the small city the centerpiece of its racist jihad against immigrants, specifically targeting the local Haitian immigrant community, the two men who incited those threats are demanding that the rest of us tone down our rhetoric.
What. The. Fuck???
Trump, who has been famous since at least 2015 for calling immigrants “vermin” and “animals,” who “poison the blood of the country,” who several times at his recent hatealongs this year has warned of a “bloodbath,” who calls his critics “scum,” “traitors,” and “enemies of the people,” has now accused his opponents of “highly inflammatory language,” blaming Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for a second alleged “assassination attempt” that happened on Sunday.
As soon as the news of this event was out, he started raising money off it.
Trump stated that “The gunman, Ryan Routh believed the rhetoric of Biden and Harris, and he acted on it. Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country, and they are the ones that are destroying the country — both from the inside and out.”
And then Corporal Couchfuck Six Months in an Air-Conditioned Trailer said, “The big difference between conservatives and liberals is that no one has tried to kill Kamala Harris in the last couple of months. And two people now have tried to kill Donald Trump in the last couple of months.” He went on to say, “We cannot tell the American people that one candidate is a fascist…”
That was said three days after Trump said of Kamala Harris: 'She's A Marxist, Communist, Fascist, Socialist.”
That these two can spout this shit is a reminder that we are not only post-irony, but also post-even-a-scrap-of-shame.
Peter Baker wrote in today’s NYT:
“[Trump] has long favored the language of violence in his political discourse, encouraging supporters to beat up hecklers, threatening to shoot looters and undocumented migrants, mocking a near-fatal attack on the husband of the Democratic House speaker and suggesting that a general he deemed disloyal be executed.
“While Mr. Trump insists his fiery speech to supporters on Jan. 6, 2021, was not responsible for the subsequent ransacking of the Capitol, he resisted pleas from advisers and his own daughter that day to do more to stop the assault. He even suggested that the mob might be right to want to hang his vice president and has since embraced the attackers as patriots whom he may pardon if elected again.”
Trump posted the following yesterday at his Truth Antisocial, in FULL ALL CAPS RAGE blaming his political opponents for Sunday’s attack:
“Because of this Communist Left Rhetoric, the bullets are flying, and it will only get worse! Allowing millions of people, from places unknown, to INVADE and take over our Country, is an unpardonable sin. OUR BORDERS MUST BE CLOSED, AND THE TERRORISTS, CRIMINALS, AND MENTALLY INSANE, IMMEDIATELY REMOVED FROM AMERICAN CITIES AND TOWNS, DEPORTED BACK TO THEIR COUNTIES OF ORIGIN.”
The why of all Trump’s Trumpian projection is obvious. He wants to shut down his critics because they are telling the truth about him and it is now having an effect on his numbers in the campaign.
Jonathan Chait wrote that Trump IS a threat to democracy, and that saying so is not an incitement to violence:
“Supporting liberal democracy requires simultaneously affirming the right to engage in legal, peaceful activity while opposing violent and criminal actions. Trump upholds neither side of the equation. He considers all speech or political activity against him to be criminal and any activity on his behalf, whether or not it is illegal or violent, to be legitimate. He believes all these things because he is an authoritarian at heart. The impulse to stop his critics from accurately describing his political project is not a defense of democratic norms but the precise opposite.”
David Frum posted the following on Threads this morning:
“The difference: The upsetting things said by Trump and Vance are not true.
“The upsetting things said about Trump and Vance are true.
“Trump really did mount a violent coup against the Constitution. He and his relatives really did take bribes in office, including from foreign governments.
“He really was helped into power by Russian espionage agencies. He really did steal secret documents from the US government after his election defeat.
“And Vance really did, and by his own admission, intentionally "create stories" for political advantage that put residents of his state at risk of physical harm.
Frum’s thread triggered Corporal Couchfuck, who posted on Xitter (that’s pronounced “shitter”): “I'd say the most important difference is that people on your team tried to kill Donald Trump twice.”
Sorry, Corporal Six Months In An Air-conditioned Trailer, but these two were not “Democrats.”
Crooks was a registered Republican who reportedly posted anti-Semitic and anti-immigrant rants on social media.
Routh voted for Trump in 2016 but voted in the Democratic primary election this year; he also posted to Nikki Haley last spring that she should join Compleat Fucking Asswipe Vivek Ramaswamy on a winning “Haley-Ramaswamy” ticket. Routh is also a convicted felon.
In 2022, Routh flew to Ukraine and tried to volunteer. A spokesman for Ukraine’s Foreigners Coordination Department of the Land Forces Command told CNN that Routh’s “messages and ideas” were “delusional.”
These are the “messages and ideas” that led the Ukrainians to determine he was delusional:
Wrote Ukrainian presidential advisor Podolyak that he, Ryan Routh, will personally buy Poland’s MiG-29 fighter jets and then “fly them at night just above ground and hit every place Putin sleeps”
Wrote Polish Defense Minister Błaszczak that he’s an American business man who wants to meet with the Minister to buy Poland’s MiG-29 fighter jets and transfer them to Ukraine.
Wrote U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono to ask whether she can help him “borrow some Patriot Missile Defense Systems”
Wrote actor Sean Penn with a request that Sean and Ryan buy Poland’s MiG-29 fighter jets together and then go together to borrow some Patriot Missile Defense Systems at the border. “How can they say no to you?”
Wrote U.S. Senator Brian Schatz that he is flying out to Ukraine in a few days but needs the Senator’s help to borrow some Patriot Missile Defense Systems which he, as a civilian, will then “learn how to operate”
Wrote actor Seth Rogan to inform him that Seth, James Franco and Ryan himself should go together to North Korea to talk with Kim Jong Un to show him that America and North Korea can be friends.
Wrote to the head of Hong Kong’s local government Carrie Lam hoping that she will make him “her private American advisor at no cost.” He believes that he and Carrie Lam can sit down with the protesting students and “find solutions.”
Wrote to the Belarusian opposition during the street protests in the wake of the falsified presidential election in 2020. Advises them to “buy sniper rifles from Amazon.”
Wrote Elton John with the hope that they can release a song together to rally more support for Ukraine. Ryan has already prepared the lyrics and music to the song “We Are One.” He believes it would be a good idea to have young kids sing the chorus.
So far as being worried about words and actions that might be harmful to a Democrat, Trump shrugged off the arrest of far right Trump-supporting extremists for plotting to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer during the COVID pandemic, saying, "Maybe it was a problem, maybe it wasn't."
When Greg Gianforte, now the Republican governor of Montana, physically assaulted a reporter who asked a question he didn't like during the campaign, Trump praised him, saying, "Any guy that can do a body slam, he is my type!"…
A 2020 investigation by ABC News found 54 instances of violent actors citing loyalty to - or inspiration by - Trump as their motive.
Tom Nichols wrote in The Atlantic yesterday:
“Two assassination attempts in about two months is indeed horrifying, but it is not unprecedented: In 1975, President Gerald Ford survived two such attempts in fewer than three weeks. One assailant was a woman from West Virginia named Sara Jane Moore. The other was an acolyte of the murderer Charles Manson, Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme. Both of them came within feet of killing Ford.
“Ford was a decent man and an underrated president, and he certainly had enemies, especially after pardoning Richard Nixon.
“But he did not blame his opponents for the attempts on his life. He did not blame America, or the courts, or anyone else. He also did not use the attacks by Moore and Fromme to fundraise: Trump used his attacks to beat the bushes for money within a few hours. Instead, Ford acceded to the Secret Service’s request that he start wearing a trench coat with a zip-in Kevlar vest. (It was very uncomfortable and he disliked wearing it.) He then went back out in public and conducted a presidential campaign, which he lost.”
The facts are that no incel dweeb Democrat climbed a building adjacent to one of Trump’s hatealongs and opened fire with an assault weapon in Trump’s general direction. But a registered Republican who voted for him in 2020 did.
No mentally unstable Democrat camped for 12 hours on the edge of one of Trump’s Florida golf resorts, armed with an assault weapon, a camera and a bag of food, waiting for a clear shot. But a Republican did.
Additionally, Frank Carillo, a registered Republican from Winchester, Virginia, was charged last week with threatening to kill Vice President Harris in a series of violent posts last month on a conservative social media site.
The score for threatening or attempting to kill a 2024 presidential candidate is Republicans : 3 - Democrats: 0.
According to the Dumbest Fucking Southern Peckerwood Ever Elected To The Senate, Tommy Tuberville:
“They’re trying to kill the only guy that has a chance to get this fixed. of course President Biden — I don’t know who’s running this country, but somebody needs to step to the plate and at least act like you care about a Republican candidate. but they truly don’t. they could care less. there needs to be Seal Teams, there needs to be military. I don’t know what these people are thinking. of course Chuck Schumer and McConnell and all these people up here are running around with all kinds of security in Washington DC, and the one man, we need to protect his life, is Donald Trump.”
The cherry on top of this steaming pile of shit is that the annual celebration of how diverse Springfield, Ohio has become has now been cancelled due to a lack of security resulting from phony bomb threats phoned in to city agencies since the middle of last week.
Spoiler alert: Democrats have not been involved in any of these acts of stochastic terrorism.

The chickens have come home to roost for Trump. The only people trying to kill him are his people. The second attempt wasn't even close. Trump and Vance are evil psychopaths. When a grown man says in all caps, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT", you know he's not dealing with a full deck. Now by their incendiary wolf whistles, they're basically putting a target on Kamala. I am so over this shit. As Rick Wilson said today, we're not going to be quiet. What Trump and Vance have done with their lies about Springfield should be criminal.
With all the hatemongering and lies being spread about immigrants to this country, it might be a good time to bring up the fact that the two men who are accused of shooting or attempting to shoot Trump are white American Republicans.
