Today has been very interesting here at That’s Another Fine Mess.
My email in-box has been filled to overflowing with new subscription notifications. When I first counted them up after looking them through first thing this morning, the overnights were 110 - a new record here!
But it hasn’t stopped!
As of 12:45pm Pacific Time, it’s up to 180! And I just checked and there are four more.
And even better, 45 of those are Paid Subscriptions.
Did you all wait till you got your Christmas bonuses?
Last night, Robert Hubbell gave me a nice shout-out for yesterday’s post, but that’s happened before and it didn’t result in this kind of response.
I like to do my “market research,” so I open every notification, to see who is subscribing, what their interests appear to be, and where they might have come from.
There’s no more from Bob’s substack than there was the last time there was a shout-out there. There’s quite a few from Lucian Truscott’s hangout, and a fair number from Doc Richardson’s Letter. And I am glad to see several come from Bulwark+. But there’ a whole lot that just say “Substack Direct.” Hmmm…
Looking at who you all say you are, you’re definitely candidates for “TC’s Zoo” as one of the regulars here called it. People who have interesting backgrounds (and I don’t mean that like the not-ancient not-Chinese curse).
In other words, more people I have to stay on my toes and bring the A-game for. That’s good, I like a challenge.
Anyway, welcome all of you and I hope I can give the new folks reason to become paid subscribers in 2023.
Thank you all very much. I’m always amazed that this thing is as successful as it is.
More later.

Comments are for paid subscribers.
To answer your presumably rhetorical question, yes, it was many things you've said, how well you said them and the research that backed them up. Word gets around TC.
That’s good news! For you AND all your new subscribers. Personally, I think it was the Calvinball reference.
