Great post, TC and even better news. We just took the cats to the vet for vaccines and their wellness checks (healthy kitties!). I'll send a photo of my current status.

Tom, as always, many thanks for the time you take to synopsize what is going on here. Anyone who can't admit to the craziness is truly not paying attention...at all.

And even more, thanks for the pic of the kittens...even at their nuttiest, they are sane compared to this administration.

I visited the page associated with a troll on another site. He used Christopher Rufo for a couple of sources. The propaganda rolls on.

Heterosexual Awesomeness Month? So, the acronym is "HAM"!?!

Considering they are probably loutish pigs, I guess that fits.

JDinTX's avatar

HAM it is, Ha

Trump is sinking further into frontotemporal dementia. You are correct that we are not the crazy ones, instead, we’re watching many craxy people trying to wreck the country. Thank you for providing the lovely picture of the fur pile of kitties!

Cute passel of kitties. I am enjoying the Ken Burns PBS program on The American Revolution. Boy, some things never change. Deja vu all over again. I learned a lot.

I thought I knew that story, but so much more was revealed than I had ever been taught. I hope history teachers make use of it; the β€œFreedom isn’t free” blather spewed by a Tea Party nut that I knew, is certainly true, but not for reasons he blathered.

I agree. So much is included that we never learned about in school or even in history books we may have read on our own. I especially appreciate the inclusion of historical information about participation - on both side of the conflict - of Native Americans and Blacks, both enslaved and free.

The November 2025 issue of The Atlantic is a perfect complement to the Ken Burns series. Titled The Unfinished Revolution, the 4-panel fold out cover includes all of those above and is comprised of a cumulative series of articles that are very enlightening. If anyone reading this can obtain a copy, I recommend it.

Will try for my grands, thanks

There's never time in school to get into the details as Ken Burns can do.

And we are the poorer for it. PBS has been on my donate list for decades. Such possibility and here come Mark Burnett and Andy Cohen with tripe that tv watchers fell in love with. On repubs hit list for 50 years. As USPS has been.

Out of necessity, most history is taught as survey in order to get the general sweep of time and place, with teachers interjecting more detail into areas of their own interest. But I suspect history classes are the natural arena for bright and inquisitive students to help teachers out with probing questions.

Thanks Tom, great post today.

Yes, a good one for the time capsule.

I'm very very certain that the saloon owner in Idaho is totally totally straight, because obsessing over your straightness to the point of turning it into a "ladies night" type special for your bar is exactly the thing that totally straight people comfortable with their total and complete straightness do all the time. Totally...

β€œ Heterosexual Awareness Month” Damn I thought that every society on earth had such a month twelve times a year. Geezz, the poor victims of heterosexual discrimination. As a heterosexual female, my core identity is strong enough to think that all should have the freedom to be who they are without the first input from me. How arrogant the wannabes are to think that we should all be cookie cutter zombies. Especially like the cretins spewing such nonsense. Evolution knows that differences are good and inbreeding is not.

Nothing relaxes me more than seeing the basket of loving fur. Thanks, and glad you are documenting the hell all around us. Hopefully, your epistles will be useful when these cretins are called to account.

I'm currently reading "Careless People", about early Facebook. I'm going to be cancelling my membership. I was unclear on what, exactly Facebook took down in the bruhaha at the Old State Saloon. According to the author of "Careless People", Mark couldn't understand why anyone would object to Facebook handing over personal information of any HongKong and Chinese

person who signed up for Facebook!?!?! He was focused on growing the brand worldwide and ready to do whatever was necessary to achieve that.

The kittens were (are) so adorable.

FB did me a favor by banning me. They are a negative in every way, besides dumping my data on the dark web. Wish Blue Sky would make them irrelevant.

MarshaS's avatar

I have cut back maybe 90%, down to a handful of farflung friends that I have known for decades. Still, I am 'close' to leaving it. I figure our 'data' is all compromised anyway.

Here in Idaho.

Shame shame.

Frank Church weeps. As do we.

Thank you, TC for TAFM! Do you think we will be in another war before the end of the year? What a F--king mess. Maybe you need to change the name. I think I will turn on Christmas music to get be out of this mood! Thank you for sharing Karen's kitties with us. That was the best thing in today's post for sure!

Love the Fema Fighters who sent the message from the trenches. We need to hear more from the other fed agencies' grunts who do the actual work. DOW staffers and FBI have gotten notes out of their prisons captured and run by noodniks. Now that the White House will be running its own truthish news outlet wherein the propaganda will ooze like an open wound, inside information is critical to countering Big Bro.

That gd White House ballroom may end up being a disaster in more ways than one because while the WH was built on a slight hill for drainage, parts of DC flood easily and are vulnerable to sinkholes. I can envision the Dime-a-Dance joint for the rich sinking when filled when swampdwellers all start toe-tapping at the same time.

I hope the Dems will keep hammering away at the fact that personal and national debt are at an all time high while the investment class has never been fatter and more gilded. Start posting those cartoons, graphs, and other visuals. Time to use all that gauche gilding to feed the hungry, heal the sick, house the homeless, and educate everyone. And, yes, pay down debt. Yeah, it's class warfare. Fight on so the middle class can make a comeback, a tough slog inasmuch as so much wealth produced by them has been parked offshore.

Great post today Tom. Thanks for the lovely kitties picture. They are so precious. Glad to hear the good news about AIDS too.
