as Christina Greer put it on Jonathan Capehart’s show this morning, “Listening to what Mike Pence has said this morning makes me glad I don’t know any moral cowards.”
Or as I put it to myself, waking up to the news first thing in on a Sunday morning that someone I think of as a worthless moral piece of shit has publicly demonstrated the paucity of my imagination to describe just how worthless, how spineless, how morally vacant, how intellectually failing, how fucking STUPID that moral piece of shit really is - makes me want to puke.
In case you have been fortunate this Sunday morning to have not yet have had this steaming bucket of rancid shit placed in front of you, here are the details:
In an interview broadcast this morning on ABC’s “This Week” with Jonathan Karl, Pence was questioned about his reaction to the Truth Social post Trump put up yesterday regarding his possible arrest in New York this week over the Stormy Daniels case, in which he called on his supporters to protest his arrest.
Pence replied: “I’m taken aback at the idea of indicting a former president of the United States, at a time when there’s a crime wave in New York City. The fact that the Manhattan DA thinks that indicting President Trump is his top priority, I think … just tells you everything you need to know about the radical left in this country.”
Pence went on to say that a possible Trump arrest resulting from the Manhattan investigation, which the former president has said is “corrupt” and “highly political,” would be purely for political reasons. “It just feels like a politically charged prosecution here. And I, for my part, I just feel like it’s just not what the American people want to see.”
When asked about Trump’s call for protests if he is arrested, Pence said: "The frustration the American people feel about what they sense is a two tier justice system in this country, I think -- I think is well founded but -- I -- and -- I believe that people understand that if they give voice to this, if this occurs on Tuesday, that they need to do so peacefully and in a lawful manner. That the violence that occurred on Jan. 6, the violence that occurred in cities throughout this country in the summer of 2020 was a disgrace. The American people won’t tolerate it and those that engage in that kind of violence should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Following up those obscenities, Pence said: “Nobody’s above the law. But nobody’s beneath the law either. And the American people are troubled after four years of our administration, seeing the politicization of the Justice Department, I strongly support the efforts in Congress to investigate the role that politics is playing in our justice system today.”
And before he said all that to Karl, he went on Breitbart “News” on Saturday morning and said, before Trump’s Truth Social tweet: “You have literally a Democratic party that's literally dismantled the criminal justice system in that city, undercut the NYPD, and this is what the Manhattan DA says is their top priority? It reeks of the kind of political prosecution that we endured back in the days of the Russia hoax and the whole impeachment over a phone call."
At which point when I read that, I had to run to the bathroom and worship the Porcelain God.
Sadly, Pence isn’t the only Republican in need of spine implantation surgery, merely the most obvious one.
Supposed “moderate,” “reasonable” “decent alternative to Donald Trump” New Hampshire governor John Sununu got into the act right after Pence during an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” :
“Look, if someone’s calling for protests, you always want to make sure that they’re peaceful. In long history, in recent history in America, folks always are out there protesting what they see as an unjustified arrest or an unjustified indictment. But you want to make sure it’s peaceful. We don’t want history to repeat itself in overly negative ways.”
Sununu then joined Pence in criticizing the investigation into Trump, calling it a “political circus.” “There’s much more pressing issues of the day. It’s just unfortunate this has taken the headline.”
Then there’s the outrageous tweet by braindead Quiverin’ Qevin McCarthy, (Alleged) Speaker of the House of Representatives (For Now). McCarthy accused Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg of "an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump." He went on to say, “I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions.”
Of course, the Bakersfield Bozo doesn’t have the brains to have a damn clue about how “federal funds” are actually used in the New York City District Attorney’s office, since actually governing and understanding how government operates is way above his paygrade.
Fortunately, that office has an explanation prominently displayed on its website, in which it is explained that State and federal funding makes up a small percentage of the office’s budget and consists almost entirely of “various grants that support crime victims programs, efforts to prevent intoxicated driving, opiod programming and justice assistance grants.”
The Usual Suspects, who keep McCarthy’s balls in a locked safe, weren’t far behind their “leader”:
Number Three House Republican and Chief Striver Elise Stafanik: "This is just a continuation of the disgraceful and unconstitutional pattern going back to the illegal Russian collusion hoax to attempt to silence and suppress the will of the voters who support President Trump and the America First Movement. America First Patriots are energized to exercise their constitutional rights to peacefully organize and VOTE at the ballot box to save our great republic."
Crazy Texican hatchet-head Chip Roy: “The impending indictment of President Trump in NY must be treated as it is: a politically-motivated prosecution based on a strained, convoluted legal theory. It makes clear the danger of a politicized “justice” system that will be (is being) weaponized against ALL Americans. Not sure, but it's been reported that Bragg received $1 million from Soros. Seems like a campaign finance violation to me. Investigate that.”
Marjorie Traitor Goon: "President Trump did nothing wrong and has always fought for the American people, and we all know it, which is why we love him. If the Manhattan DA indicts President Trump, he will ultimately win even bigger than he is already going to win. And those Republicans that stand by and cheer for his persecution or do nothing to stop it will be exposed to the people and will be remembered, scorned, and punished by the base. Any Republican who thinks the Democrats will stop this madness once Trump is out of the way is fooling themselves.”
Jungle Gym Jordan, who cleared his head sufficiently from the latest incident of being dropped on it: "God Bless President Trump. Real America knows this is all a sham."
Fraternity Freddie, er I mean Matt Gaetz: "The impending indictment is based on an untested, tortured legal theory. This is an absurd abuse of the criminal process in our politics. It must be seen for the partisan pathetic ploy it is."
Embarrasment to the U.S. Navy Senator Skeletor was right behind them: "McCarthy is right, and I fully support his call for an investigation. No federal dollars should be used to prop up this radical, Soros-backed activist attorney or his gross political attacks."
He was followed by quasi-literate embarrassment to the Marine Corps J.D. Vance: "I've been asked by multiple reporters if an indictment would lead me to rescind my endorsement of Donald Trump. The answer is: hell no. A politically motivated prosecution makes the argument for Trump stronger. We simply don't have a real country if justice depends on politics."
Jonathan Capehart is a much better person than I am, because he managed to not descend into spluttering obscenities within 20 seconds of reporting all this.
I, on the other hand, have spent much of the time spent writing this post rewriting it so as not to publish an endless stream of obscenities.
I will just say this: Mike Pence IS an obscenity. The rest of the pond scum don’t even get close.
Mike Pence is a spineless, ignorant, talentless, worthless, morally vacant, malignant moron who cannot distinguish right from wrong when it stares him in the face, regardless of events he has personally experienced. That the former Vice President of the United States, who was hunted by Trump’s seditionists on January 6 as they chanted “Hang Mike Pence!” can now sit there and calmly say that black is white and answer that Trump was obviously holding up all five fingers is enough to gag a maggot.
That Kevin McCarthy could, on the evening of January 6, say “Let me be very clear to all of you, and I have been very clear to the president: He bears responsibilities for his words and actions. No if, ands or buts. I asked him personally today: Does he hold responsibility for what happened? Does he feel bad about what happened? He told me he does have some responsibility for what happened and he’d need to acknowledge that.”
That yesterday, as Speaker of the House of Representatives having sworn an oath to protect and defend the Consitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, he could say that any prosecution of Trump is “political vengeance.” By the time he said this, he certainly knew that Trump’s call for protests in the event of his indictment and arrest was couched in the same terms he used to call the seditionists to Washington on January 6.
And still he publicly supports Trump.
As do they all.
They have all moved from being accessories after the fact to actively aiding and abetting Trump’s treason over the rule of law.
INSERT LONG STREAM OF OBSCENITIES SCREAMED AT THE TOP OF MY VOICE HERE.
Ah, I feel so much better now.
Back in 1948, President Truman said, “The only ‘good Republicans’ are pushing up daisies.”
That statement is only a thousand times more true today than when he said those words.

Why would a real news organization give air to folks like Pence and company.
Before I even read this - just finished a book by Pat Schroeder (Colorado Rep 1972-1996) called "24 Years of House Work AND the place is still a mess. She just passed away about a week ago. Want to see how little "family issues" have progressed and how much politics has remained the same?
Really worth reading - I started it yesterday & finished this morning. Boy if only we had more like her!
And TC, will go back & read your piece later-promise.
