THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS - UPDATED
UPDATE - BREAKING NEWS OF THE BEST KIND: Trump's legal war on Kilmar Abrego Garcia was dealt a bitter blow on Friday, as U.S. District Judge Waverly Crenshawin in Tennessee canceled the previously scheduled trial on human smuggling charges for January 27, 2026, and instead ordered an evidentiary hearing for January 28, 2026. This hearing will address the defense’s motion to dismiss the case and will instead hold a hearing on the legality of the prosecution on the grounds of vindictive prosecution by the government. It comes after Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s legal team presented evidence that he was being targeted for selective and vindictive prosecution. “Once a defendant establishes a prima facie showing of vindictiveness, ‘a presumption arises in defendant’s favor,’” wrote Crenshaw, “The Court has already found that Abrego has made such a showing, entitling him to discovery and an evidentiary hearing on why the government is prosecuting him ... Given this, the burden has shifted to the government.” Abrego Garcia's legal team argues the government only initiated criminal charges to punish him for successfully challenging his mistaken deportation to El Salvador in March 2025, which the government admitted was an "administrative error". If the judge finds sufficient evidence of vindictive prosecution that prosecutors cannot justify, the charges may be dismissed. Trump’s inability to ever admit to a mistake has now come around to put the case in danger of being dropped like those against James Comey and Letitia James. His very vindictiveness has defeated him in all these cases.
Back to the original news:
Here’s a Christmas message to all the MAGA “christians”: “Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter - when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?” – Isaiah 58:7
A holiday thought: As of last week, ICE had more than 68,000 individuals in detention facilities. This is America in 2025.
As it turns out, events are paying no attention to previous holiday assumptions that there would be a hold placed on events till the holidays were over. Maladministration II isn’t stopping ICE raids or any of the rest of their bullshit.
Whatthey plan for 2026: The pogrom will continue. Armed with $45 billion Congress set aside for locking up immigrants, Maladministration II revived dormant prisons, repurposed sections of military bases and partnered with Republican governors to build immigrant tent encampments in remote regions during 2025. In 2026, newly arrested detainees would be booked into processing sites for a few weeks before being funneled into one of seven large-scale warehouses holding 5,000 to 10,000 people each, where they would be staged for deportation. The large warehouses would be located close to major logistics hubs in Virginia, Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, Georgia and Missouri. Sixteen smaller warehouses would hold up to 1,500 people each. The warehouse plan is the next step in Stephen Miller’s campaign to detain and deport millions of immigrants, which began with a scramble to expand the nation’s immigrant detention system, the largest in the world.
Early Christmas Eve morning, Trump - suffering from another Adderall overdose - stumbled to the Golden Throne in the White House and did a “Sundowning Grampa” post on Lies Anti-Social, entering into the Christmas spirit of peace on Earth and goodwill to all by threatening to terminate the TV networks that don’t praise him. “If Network NEWSCASTS, and their Late Night Shows, are almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party, shouldn’t their very valuable Broadcast Licenses be terminated? I say, YES!” He then posted: “Stephen Colbert is a pathetic trainwreck, with no talent or anything else necessary for show business success. Stephen is running on hatred and fumes. A dead man walking! CBS should, ‘put him to sleep,’ NOW, it is the humanitarian thing to do! Who has the worst Late Night host, CBS, ABC, or NBC??? They all have three things in common: High Salaries, No Talent, REALLY LOW RATINGS! When you have a network and you have evening shows and all they do is hit Trump, that’s all they do—if you go back, I guess they haven’t had a conservative one in years, or something—when you go back and take a look, all they do is hit Trump. They’re licensed. They’re not allowed to do that.” Dilbert becomes more pathetic in his neediness by the hour. As with all accusations, it was a confession. He really would like to be put to sleep. I can’t wait till it happens. Permanently.
Sundowning Grampa spent the rest of Christmas Day gifting us with nearly 150 demented Lies Anti-Social posts by nightfall, complaining about the 2020 election, the media, Democrats, Somali immigrants, and other favorite targets. The posts were filled with many breathless claims, including video of Rudy Giuliani baselessly stating that 315,000 votes had been added to Biden’s tally in Fulton County, Georgia. Trump supported calls for Georgia pollworkers Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea “Shaye” Moss, who were defamed by Giuliani, to “pay back” the %150 million judgement against Giuliani, claiming they were in fact the guilty parties who stuffed ballot boxes. (FACT CHECK: Another Dilbert whopper.) He followed that up by reposting a baseless claim by a user called “WallStreetApes” about the 2020 election in Michigan being “rigged,” then boosted another conspiracy theory from Roseanne Barr that the COVID pandemic was a Democratic plot to push mail-in ballots to hurt Trump’s reelection chances. He also shared a video of Stephen Miller ranting about Somali immigrants. Trump then attacked Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota with a video of Megyn Kelly calling Omar’s citizenship into question, then demanding: “Throw her out of the U.S., Now!” He also argued the economic picture is not as bad as polls portray, sharing a Fox News interview in which Howard Nutlicker bizarrely claimed that, due to he 4.3 percent growth in GDP that “all” Americans are going to make “4.3 percent more money.” His desperation over the fact he is being largely ignored by the media that did All-Trump All The Time during Maladministration I, and can no long manipulate public interest away from the Epstein Files, is becoming only more obvious.
As if yesterday wasn’t enough, Sundowning Grampa went to the Golden Throne early this morning and went on another delusional spree, posting every two minutes to Lies Anti-Social, bragging about everything from firing federal workers to Bill Clinton’s appearance in the Epstein files (But wasn’t he Clinton’s good friend back on Monday?). “TRUMP IS DOING AN AMAZING JOB!” he declared, alongside a graph showing crime rates falling over the past year (But hasn’t he said crime is out of control, which is why he’s Making America Safe Again by sending the National Guard to blue cities?). The rapid-fire rant began shortly after 7:30 a.m. with a link to an article from conservative website, Just The News, talking up Trump’s immigration policies. This was followed within seconds by another item from the same publication featuring a former Defense Department official warning that “terrorists may one day aerosolize fentanyl.” He then set off another flurry of posts celebrating tighter visa restrictions and pushing his false claim that the 2020 election was stolen, before bragging about federal employment reaching a new low thanks to his mass firing of government workers this year. He’s alone and ignored by his family - Ivanka posted on Christmas Day about the joy of being with “the family you choose” while Beavis and Butthead are nowhere to be seen - as well as ignored by the rest of the world. And nothing he can come up with gets any response more than a yawn and the question of when the massive fatal myocardial infarction is going to rid us of him. Ron Filipkowski posted in response: “The President of the United States is very seriously mentally ill, and elected Republicans are so afraid of him that they won’t do or say anything about it.”
We know how Sundowning Grampa loves TV ratings - and speaking of low ratings: “The Kennedy Center Honors” reportedly drew its lowest ratings ever after Trump announced he would host the event. (Likely because of the announcement) “At the request of the Board, and just about everybody else in America, I am hosting the event. Tell me what you think of my ‘Master of Ceremony’ abilities,” he wrote on Truth Social. And then they told him: “According to preliminary Nielsen data, ‘The Kennedy Center Honors’ on CBS drew its smallest audience ever on the night of December 23, 2025, averaging an estimated 2.65 million viewers,” Programming Insider reported on Wednesday. “To put that in perspective: the 2024 broadcast averaged 4.1 million.” CBS News aired the Kennedy Center Honors on Tuesday using a sharply edited Trump’s monologue and dodging his controversial “Trump Kennedy Center” rebrand. CBS News standards had circulated guidance telling staff to stick with “Kennedy Center,” noting the board’s vote alone doesn’t make the change official because Congress would have to approve it. The network also trimmed Trump’s opening remarks from roughly 12 minutes to about two minutes for viewers at home, cutting out some of his freewheeling asides—including his crack at the laughing crowd as “miserable, horrible people.” (It’s very likely that watching the show - you know he did - was what led to Wednesday morning’s meltdown.) Wednesday he talked about leaving the presidency to be a professional “Master of Ceremonies.” This news, that everything he has ever touched always dies, must be killing him (hopefully). “Trump posting spree” stories are like “Dog barks, sun rises, details at 11.”
The DOJ mocked a reporter Wednesday for asking a question on X about a purportedly fake postcard from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to former women’s doctor Larry Nassar. Independent reporter Jamie Dupree asked the DOJ why the department released the letter despite claiming it’s fake. DOJ replied in its own X post: “Because the law requires us to release all documents related to Jeffrey Epstein in our possession so that’s what we are doing, you dope. Are you suggesting we break the law?” Dupree saw the response and shared it with the caption: “A badge of honor and a great Christmas gift! The Trump Department of Justice calling me a dope.” The reason this response sounds like it was written by Fu Manchu, er, Steven Cheung, is because it likely was. Axios reported Tuesday evening that the White House has taken control of the DOJ’s X account. Representative Thomas Massie took notice of that, posting: “DOJ did break the law by making illegal redactions and by missing the deadline. By the way, who’s controlling the DOJ X account on Christmas Eve and using words like ‘dope’ to refer to reporters?”
On Tuesday, Everybody’s favorite self-hating Jew urged CBS News to fire the producers of “60 Minutes” for launching a “revolt” against Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss, who recently pulled a segment focused on Venezuelan men deported to the El Salvadoran CECOT prison. “They know that these are monsters, who got exactly what they deserved. Because under President Trump, we are not going to let little girls get raped, and murdered anymore,” Miller said during an appearance on Fox News’s “Jesse Waters Primetime.” “And every one of those producers at ’60 Minutes’ engaged in this revolt, fire them. Clean house, fire them. That’s what I say, Charlie,” he told guest host Charles Hunt. “But more fundamentally this is another pathetic ’60 Minutes’ hatchet job, they’re trying to tell sob stories about Tren de Aragua gang members who drill holes in people’s hands.” He continued: “You have these ’60 Minute’ producers who are living in comfort and security, living in their West End condos trying to make us feel sympathetic for these monsters. I’ll make a deal, we will pick someone at random that we sent to CECOT, a random lottery drawn, and they will spend one day overnight in your apartment. Who’s taking that deal at ’60 Minutes?’ Nobody.”
On Tuesday, the Pentagon said it deployed 350 National Guard troops to New Orleans after DHS conducted an immigration operation in the city earlier this month. The soldiers are expected to remain through Mardi Gras. “These National Guard troops will support federal law enforcement partners, including the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security, as they enforce federal law and counter high rates of violent crime in New Orleans and other metropolitan areas in Louisiana,” Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said in a statement. The troops are under Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry’s command and control, per the Pentagon. “Our Louisiana National Guardsmen are highly trained professionals. Many of them supported law enforcement efforts in Washington, D.C. and are ready to support our home state,” said Maj. Gen. Thomas Friloux, the Adjutant General of Louisiana, according to Fox 8 Live. “We’ve mobilized multiple times this year to support efforts in New Orleans and are ready to do so again for the next two months.” This year New Orleans has recorded 97 homicides as of November, per The Guardian. There were 124 in 2024, according to The Louisiana Weekly.
A coalition of 19 Democratic-led states and the District of Columbia late Tuesday sued the Trump administration, arguing a declaration from Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. rejecting gender-affirming care for transgender minors was an overreach of his authority. The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Oregon, claims Kennedy and HHS attempted to circumvent the basic notice and comment requirements for policy changes by issuing an arbitrary “declaration” and attempting to make it effective nationwide immediately without consulting doctors, patients or states. The attorneys general argue that the job of regulating the practice of medicine belongs to the states, not the federal government. The declaration claims that gender-affirming care, including hormones and surgeries, are “neither safe nor effective” and “fail to meet professional recognized standards of health care.” “The Kennedy Declaration has immediate, significant, and harmful impacts on the Plaintiff States as administrators of state Medicaid programs and as regulators of the practice of medicine,” the suit argued.
A federal magistrate judge on Tuesday blocked the Trump administration from withholding disaster preparation grants to states if they don’t recalculate their population figures to reflect recent deportations. U.S. Magistrate Judge Amy Potter also found the administration unlawfully shortened the period to spend the funds from it and another terrorism prevention grant program from three years to one. Potter ruled both changes were arbitrary and capricious. “Even giving Defendants the benefit of the doubt here, the Court finds the reasoning for each change to be lacking,” she wrote.“Defendant fails to explain why confirmation of population would be necessary or why accounting solely for those who have been removed—and not those, for example, who have moved between states—would lead to a more accurate apportionment than the use of data from the census bureau as required by law,” Potter wrote in her ruling.
Wednesday, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the nation’s largest professional organization of doctors who treat children sued Maladministration II after HHS abruptly terminated nearly $12 million in federal grants to the group. The suit says seven longstanding grants were cut in retaliation for its outspoken opposition to changes made by HHS Secretary The Wrong RFK Got Shot to federal vaccine policy, in violation of the AAP’s First Amendment rights. “This coordinated attack to strip critical funds from AAP was not the result of a routine reappraisal of whether the terminated awards furthered agency priorities … but was a decision from HHS leadership to punish AAP for its speech that contradicted and criticized HHS’s views on high-profile health policy issues,” the lawsuit states. The AAP said the canceled grants funded initiatives including preventing sudden unexpected infant death, improving early detection of developmental disabilities and birth defects, strengthening pediatric care in rural communities, supporting adolescents facing substance use and mental health challenges, and improving standards of care for newborns. The AAP is asking the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to immediately block the funding cuts and order the government to restore the grants while the case proceeds.
The DOJ begged prosecutors to spend their Christmas redacting the Epstein Files as they continue to release files over the festive period. A Wednesday report by CNN revealed that DOJ leadership at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida asked its entire staff on Tuesday - two days before Christmas - for volunteers to conduct “remote document review and redactions related to the Epstein files” over the next several days. “I am aware that the timing could not be worse. For some, the holidays are about to begin, but I know that for others, the holidays are coming to an end. We have an obligation to the public to release these documents, and before we can do so, certain redactions must be made to protect the identity of the victims, among other things.”
Two people were taken to a hospital on Wednesday after being shot by ICE during a confrontation. The ICE thugs approached a van in a quiet neighborhood in Glen Burnie, south of Baltimore, Wednesday morning and instructed the driver to turn off the engine, according to “Baghdad Tricia” McLaughlin. The driver, who is from Portugal, and his passenger, who is from El Salvador, were described as being in the U.S. illegally but DHS didn’t provide further details. According to Baghdad Trisha, the driver refused to turn off the engine and “drove his van directly at ICE officers,” hitting ICE vehicles as he tried to flee; the agents fired their service weapons at the driver in self-defense. The driver crashed between two buildings, injuring the passenger. Both men were taken to a local hospital, where they are in stable condition, The ICE thugs were “not severely injured.”
This week, the State Department denied visas to five European citizens, including a former EU commissioner, for “censorship” of US social media. Thierry Breton was the architect of the EU’s Digital Service Act, which imposed stringent content moderation requirements on tech platforms. Widdle Marco said Breton and the four others were “radical activists targeting American speakers and American companies.” The State Department is also taking aim at the UK’s Online Safety Act, which requires age verification on sites hosting adult material.
Like everything else Elmo the Magnificent does, DOGE turns out to be overpromised bullshit that failed when carried out (just like Tesla). Agencies ordered to fire employees earlier in the year by DOGE were hiring back hundreds of workers ahead of the end of the fiscal year in September. One of the stated reasons DOGE was created was to tackle the national debt, which grew more than $2.2 trillion from October 1, 2024 to Sept. 30, 2025 to more than $38 trillion.
For those who care about the future of the Earth and human civilization, Tuesday’s decision by U.S. District Judge Jill A. Otake to deny a request that sought to stop officials from enforcing the new law on cruises has cleared the way for Hawaii to include cruise ship passengers in a new tourist tax to help cope with climate change, a levy set to go into effect at the start of 2026. Hawaii Governor Josh Green signed legislation in May that raises tax revenue to deal with eroding shorelines, wildfires and other climate problems. Officials estimate the tax will generate nearly $100 million annually. The levy increases rates on hotel room and vacation rental stays but also imposes a new 11% tax on the gross fares paid by a cruise ship’s passengers, starting next year, prorated for the number of days the vessels are in Hawaii ports. Now, if we could just get rid of cruises altogether, we’d really be doing the Earth a favor. Given the kind of people who take these cruises, showing the morons a place like the Galapagos will not educate them to a greater degree than the dumping of the waste from 6,000 people on a boat will help destroy the ecology of the islands, the place where Darwn first saw and understood Evolution in action.
Jimmy Kimmel gets the last word with his Christmas message to Britain: “Here in the United States right now, we are both figuratively and literally tearing down the structures of our democracy. From the free press, to science, to medicine, to judicial independence, to the actual White House itself, we are a right mess. And we know this is also affecting you, and I just wanted to say sorry. And we want you to know or, at least I want you to know, that we’re not all like him. We’re not all like that. We are not bright. We’re Americans. No one knows better than you we’re always just a little bit late to the game, but do we come through in the end? Maybe. Give us about three years. Please.”
NOTE: Unless something big happens, news will return on Monday, January 5. Next week we will look back on what we accomplished this year in our defense of a democratic America.

JHFC, the detention centers; forever a disgrace. Let's give them names. How about the John G. Roberts, Jr. Detention Center, followed by the Trump SCOTUS judges (Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Alito, Barrett and Thomas) Detention Centers. Of course, name a building for every one of Trump's cabinet members. We also need one named for Mike Johnson.
So, MIller says nobody wants one of the detained immigrants to stay in their home for 24 hours? How about Miller go into one of the camps for 24 hours? Without guards in place? It's such a great place, what could go wrong? Surely he can tell them stories of the miracle of the oil? Or lead them in Christmas carols? Record it, just like the J6 God bless America, it's sure to be a bigly, HUGE hit, right? 😉
