The US death toll in Operation Epic Distraction has risen to six as of Monday afternoon. Thue death toll at the Iranian girl’s school is up to 180 and still counting. George Orwell would like to remind Maladministration II that “1984” was a warning, not an instruction manual. We have not “always been at war with EastAsia.”
U.S. officials and lawmakers with access to classified information, along with experts who have spent their careers poring over public data and government reports, say Maladministration II’s assertions are incomplete, unsubstantiated, or flat-out wrong.
Reuter’s Business reports this morning: Global oil and gas prices jumped on Tuesday as the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran halted energy exports from the Middle East, with Tehran attacking ships and energy facilities, closing navigation in the Gulf and forcing production stoppages from Qatar to Iraq. The benchmark Brent crude oil contract gained nearly 8% on Tuesday to above $83 per barrel, the highest since July 2024, taking gains since Friday to more than 15%. Iraq, OPEC’s second-largest producer said it may be forced to cut production by more than 3m barrels/day if oil tankers cannot move freely to loading points. Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz was closed for a fourth day after Iran attacked five ships, choking off a key artery accounting for about 20% of global oil and LNG supply. Tanker transits through the strait fell to four vessels on March 1, the day after hostilities broke out, versus an average of 24/day since January - 3 of those were Iranian. India has started rationing gas. I’m glad I am a 15 minute walk from my local TJ’s and a 20 minute walk from Von’s; I’ve been needing the exercise.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down more than 1,100 points shortly before 11 a.m. EST Tuesday, declining 2.3 percent on the morning. The S&P 500 index was down 2.2 percent, and the Nasdaq composite was down 2.3 percent. Watch these numbers; the stock market always determines what Trump does and doesn’t do.
Friday, a federal judge issued and injunction blocking a Maladministration II policy allowing DHS to arrest and detain certain refugees in Minnesota, ruling the government relied on an incorrect interpretation of federal law and unlawfully targeted people who had already been admitted to the US. The judge said DHS’s approach was “terrorizing” refugees by subjecting them to arrest and potentially indefinite detention despite their lawful status. The judge concluded that federal immigration law does not give DHS authority to detain refugees simply because more than one year has passed since their arrival in the country. Under the injunction, federal authorities are barred from arresting or detaining refugees in Minnesota solely because they have not yet obtained lawful permanent resident status after one year in the US.
In case you thought the senior operational leadership of the American military can be trusted, they can’t. Particularly the Chair Farce, since they have been infiltrated and taken over by the Fundamentalists over the past 60 years, particularly over the past 40 since Colorado Springs became the home office of the American Mullahs and proselytized the Char Farce Academy to the point 60% of cadets now call themselves “evangelical.” The Military Religious
Freedom Foundation has been documenting and fighting these morons in all services for the past 25 years. Saturday, they received this from a client at an Air Force base involved in Trump’s War: “This morning our commander opened up the combat readiness status briefing by urging us to not be “afraid” as to what is happening with our combat operations in Iran right now. He urged us to tell our troops that this was “all part of God’s divine plan” and he specifically referenced numerous citations out of the Book of Revelation referring to Armageddon and the imminent return of Jesus Christ. He said that “President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth.” Do you think this guy will disobey an illegal order from God’s Representative On Earth? I’m always amazed that the Chair Farce, the service most reliant on contemporary science, is on a mad rush back to the sixth century BC, and believes airplanes fly because angels hold up the wings. But that’s why they’re the Chair Farce; not that the National Canoe Club is any better.
In a seismic admission of defeat, the TrumpDOJ is abandoning its legal defense of an executive order that would have punished law firms that had represented clients against Trump’s prior policies or legal woes. The TrumpDOJ is expected to “drop its appeals of four trial-court rulings that struck down President Trump’s actions against law firms Jenner & Block, WilmerHale, Perkins Coie, and Susman Godfrey.” Trump’s orders had blocked these law firms from doing business with the federal government or from obtaining security clearances. Experts widely criticized it as undermining the centuries-old principle that everyone has a right to legal counsel and that lawyers should not be punished solely for disagreements with their clients. Thee are the firms that fought back when Trump tried to extort them last year. They won. All the Vichy Law Firms that surrendered to the extortion have seen their top leadership wrecked and the reputation they gained over all the years of their existence irretrievably besmirched.
Trump dismissed polls showing low approval among Americans for the U.S. military operation in Iran, saying public sentiment actually reflects otherwise. “I think that the polling is very good, but I don’t care about polling. I have to do the right thing. I have to do the right thing. This should have been done a long time ago,” Trump said in an interview with the New York Post published on Monday. “I don’t think the polling is low. Look, whether polling is low or not, I think the polling is probably fine. But it’s not a question of polling. You cannot let Iran, who’s a nation that has been run by crazy people, have a nuclear weapon.” Several polls conducted since Saturday’s overnight strikes show that a majority of Americans disapprove of military intervention in Iran. 59% of those surveyed said they disapproved of the U.S. decision to take military action in Iran, while 41% said they approved, according to a CNN poll released on Monday. A separate Reuters/Ipsos poll released Sunday found that only 1 in 4 Americans approve of the strikes.
Corporate morality matters: It’s not every day an AI app leapfrogs to No. 1 in the App Store — especially when it’s overtaking the category’s biggest name. But that’s exactly what happened when Anthropic’s Claude climbed to the top of Apple’s rankings, edging out ChatGPT. According to “Business Insider,” Claude’s downloads surged as criticism mounted over OpenAI’s deal with the so-called “Department of War.” Maladministration II previously contracted with Anthropic, but pushed the company out following Anthropic’s refusal to agree to demands for how its technology would be deployed throughout the government and military. ChatGPT’s parent company, OpenAI, was quick to step in and take Anthropic’s place. The backlash sparked a wave of social posts from users claiming they were deleting ChatGPT and switching to Claude instead.
Montana’s Rep. Ryan Zinke announced Monday he won’t seek reelection. The former Interior secretary blamed health woes for his exit, revealing he’s been through “multiple surgeries” since returning to Congress in 2023 to repair injuries from his Navy SEAL days. “The injuries sustained from a career in Special Operations are not immediately life threatening, but the repair cannot be deferred any longer and recovery will require considerable time with Lola and the family,” Zinke said in the letter. “My judgement and experience tell me it is better for Montana and America to have full-time representation in Congress than run the risk of uncertain absence and missed votes.” Montana’s 1st District just became a potential Democratic pickup opportunity. Party operatives had already been circling the district before Zinke’s announcement.
Monday, U.S. District Court Judge Jia Cobb again struck down a DHS policy seeking to block lawmakers from making unannounced visits to immigration detention facilities. The judge found the latest iteration of an order from Secretary Kristi Noem requiring lawmakers to give seven days notice before visiting a facility also ran afoul of a prior appropriations law, which forbids funds from being used to bar impromptu congressional visits. In December, Cobb had struck down a similar policy, prompting Noem to issue a new order in January, claiming that only funds from President Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill (OBBBA) would be used to enforce the policy at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities. Lawmakers had printed out Cobb’s ruling, bringing it in hand to visit an ICE facility, only to be turned away, prompting the latest chapter in the challenge. In her Monday ruling, Cobb found DHS had relied on prior funding in drafting its latest order.
Even a moron can detect reality: Jay Bhattacharya, the recently appointed acting director of the CDC, on Monday urged families to consider vaccinating against measles as outbreaks across the country continue. In a video statement posted on the social media platform X, Bhattacharya discussed the steps that the CDC is taking the address the measles situation in the U.S., including “surging” resources and coordinating with states to spread education and outreach. According to the CDC, 1,136 measles cases have been confirmed this year and 10 new outbreaks. Last year marked the worst year in terms of measles for the U.S. in decades, with nearly 2,300 cases confirmed across 50 outbreaks. The U.S. is currently poised to lose its status as a country where measles is eliminated, having had this distinction since 2000. On Jan. 20, the U.S. technically met the criteria to lose this status - what an appropriate date, it only took the Trumpscum a year to do this. Wrong RFK Got Shot needs to be thrown out of an upper-story window.
Sunday, Spain said it would not allow the United States to use its air bases for operations related to the strikes in Iran, deeming the attacks a violation of international law. “The joint-use bases, but under Spanish sovereignty, will not be used for anything not included within the treaty nor outside the U.N. Charter,” Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares said during a Sunday broadcast appearance, according to a translation from RTVE. Following his Sunday remarks, multiple U.S. aircraft departed bases in Rota and Morón, Spain, according to data from FlightRadar24 as reported by Reuters. Seven departing aircraft landed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany while nine tankers headed the same direction and two others headed toward the south of France, per the outlet. “We demand respect for international law. Violence only brings chaos. De-escalation and dialogue are the path to peace and stability,” Albares wrote in a Saturday statement on the social platform X, following the U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
The Hennepin County, Minnesota, district attorney is investigating Trump Border Patrol enforcer Greg Bovino and 16 other federal agents for “unlawful conduct.” According to The Minnesota Star Tribune, “The decision to create the project also rose from an alleged lack of investigative effort from local law enforcement into the actions of federal agents.”
I said two weeks ago that the fact the Unsupreme Court struck down Trump’s tariffs was no reason to expect them to return to being the Supreme Court the way it’s supposed to be, and Monday they demonstrated the truth of that: The Supreme Court handed down two significant and consequential emergency orders on Monday through the so-called “shadow docket,” issuing a pair of rulings that largely handed victories to Republicans and conservative activists. In one ruling, they granted an emergency appeal to religious parents suing California to force schools to disclose gender identity information their children chose to keep confidential. Justice Sonia Sotomayor, joined by Justices Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson, argued in their dissent that the ruling “can be summarized in just 7 words: ‘Rules for thee, but not for me.’” “Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts have limited jurisdiction. Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts should not interfere with state-court litigation. Time and again, this Court has said that federal courts should not meddle with state election laws ahead of an election. Today, the Court says: except for this one, except for this one, and except for this one.” The other decision pauses a decision by state courts in New York to require a redraw of the only Republican-leaning congressional district in New York City. This decision ensures the redraw won’t take place, or at least cannot be used, until after the 2026 midterms, and throws a lifeline to Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, who would have been all but doomed had the redraw moved forward this year. A state judge ruled the district dilutes Black and Latino voting strength in violation of the state constitution and ordered the boundaries be redrawn. They’re still the Republican Far Right Court.
Trump appeared at a Medal of Honor ceremony at the White House on Monday with a visible red blotch on the right side of his neck. Multiple photos from the event showed a rash-like patch that included what appeared to be a scab mark. This wasn’t the first time. Trump has previously been photographed with visible bruising on his hands. Aides have attributed that to frequent handshaking. What’s harder to explain away is what Trump said during the ceremony. It was his first time speaking live and publicly since the strikes on Iran began. “Finally, we honor one more American soldier, a fallen warria of world. Of wars. And really, terra,” Trump said. This is the commander-in-chief, presiding over an active military conflict with no defined exit strategy, appearing at a public event with a visible wound on his neck, visibly struggling to complete a sentence.
Late last night, Trump ripped into Joe Biden’s presidency and the decision to support Ukraine in a post to Lies Anti-Social. Trump wrote, “The United States Munitions Stockpiles have, at the medium and upper medium grade, never been higher or better - As was stated to me today, we have a virtually unlimited supply of these weapons. Wars can be fought “forever,” and very successfully, using just these supplies (which are better than other countries finest arms!). (FACT CHECK: The U.S. DOES NOT have an “unlimited supply of these weapons.” Everyone from the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs down is warning that at the current level of expenditure, we can run out later this month, which they are saying means this war cannot be fought “forever”.) He went on: “At the highest end, we have a good supply, but are not where we want to be. Much additional high-grade weaponry is stored for us in outlying countries. Sleepy Joe Biden spent all of his time, and our Country’s money, GIVING everything to P.T. Barnum (Zelenskyy!) of Ukraine - Hundreds of Billions of Dollars worth - And, while he gave so much of the super high-end away (FREE!), he didn’t bother to replace it. Fortunately, I rebuilt the military in my first term, and continue to do so. The United States is stocked, and ready to WIN, BIG!!! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP.” The King of Lies - whose every word out of his mouth since he learned to say his first word has been a lie - continues his UNBROKEN RECORD OF LYING HIS ASS OFF.
Just hours before posting that post, Trump urged Republicans to make changes to the upcoming midterms and how people could vote. “America’s Elections are Rigged, Stolen, and a Laughingstock all over the World. We are either going to fix them, or we won’t have a Country any longer. I am asking all Republicans to fight for the following: “SAVE AMERICA ACT! ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW VOTER I.D. (IDENTIFICATION!). ALL VOTERS MUST SHOW PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP IN ORDER TO VOTE. NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS (EXCEPT FOR ILLNESS, DISABILITY, MILITARY, OR TRAVEL!).” Sorry Dilbert Dumbfuck, the SAVE Act is dead, your GOP senators killed it, and they will not revive it for a lifelong LOSER like you. Go fuck yourself in that anus under your nose continuously. Till you choke on it.
“Neither let us be slandered from our duty by false accusations against us, nor frightened from it by menaces of destruction to the Government, nor of dungeons to ourselves. Let us have faith that right makes might; and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty, as we understand it.” - Abraham Lincoln

The ritual sacrifice/murder of the Washington Post is a stark reminder of the importance of independent journalism. No billionaires. No oligarchs. No corporate media. No dark money PACS. None of us can do it alone. You are not the crazy ones. These are truly the times that try men’s and women’s souls. This is the fight of our lifetimes, and the challenge of our generation. I realize times are getting harder, which is why some readers understandably didn’t renew their subscriptions. There are several free subscribers who read TAFM daily according to the site stats. If you folks happen to be in a position to help make up the gap, please consider joining the other paid subscribers here at That’s Another Fine Mess to keep things going. Across Substack, authors like me are losing to the Big Names who come here to say the same things they said in corporate media. We need your help! It’s only 21 cents a day. I am deeply thankful to those who have done so.

The thing about his neck is that his doctors could just explain it. But now we’re talking about it instead of his mental condition, or about his decision to begin “combat operations”, or the Epstein files’ missing documents.
But wait, there’s more!
