Dear SCS, If marches and gatherings are held in honor of Dr. King, it would be typical for certain faux media to take pictures of them and infer that the enthusiasm is for Trump’s inauguration, not MLK day.
As a student of photography, I studied 45/47's new portrait. Do you see where the lighting is coming from? Underneath his chin. Just the lighting effect used in horror films for monsters. And maybe to make this old man look younger. What a hoot.
Amazed that some rich dude or dudes were stupid enough to think that they earned brownie points from Trump by helping Rudy Giuliani. These people are truly brainless.
Trump would have left Rudy under the bus next to some two-week old road kill because Rudy just couldn't get the job done, that of proving an election was stolen.
The fact is that we may very well face a bird flu (H5N1j pandemic during the incoming maladministration, and the Orange Menace and his antivax Secretary of HHS will take no effective action against it. This flu could potentially be lethal and unnecessarily so. After Trump’s mismanagement of COVID, I hardly think he will suddenly develop competence in managing another pandemic. Antivaxxers will be delighted to tell people to avoid vaccination, and increase the death rate.
Here's the silver lining: We know how to protect ourselves now. So, we can survive another public health catastrophe. We cannot do anything about the MAGA's and their growing rejection of vaccination. Our doctor family members are extremely frustrated by the new parents who are rejecting vaccinations for their babies. Oy vey!
I just bought a carton of eggs at the local market…$7.50 for a dozen. Let’s see Fat Boy lower the prices of eggs by next Tuesday, the 21st, as he promised on the campaign trail. As well as ending the war in Ukraine in 24 hours, also as he promised. But he won’t, because governmenting is such hard work for a fat old dotard who’d rather be golfing than actually working.
Did you buy from a chain grocery store? Here in San Diego, in my locally-owned small chain, they sell locally-produced cage-free (per California law) eggs. The price for extra large eggs has remained steady for several years at $3.99.
I just did an online search for price of eggs in California and all of the articles have prices ranging from $7-$9+/dozen. Makes me wonder how much of the price increases are opportunism.
Is this change to go indoors meant to enshrine the site of the J6 Insurrection? He could have held the whole shebang at the Capital One Arena instead of giving the middle finger to the Capitol and American History.
