“The idea that we should sit back and let them collapse is ridiculous. They are going to define their project as something legitimate if we don’t define them as something corrupt.”
– Senator Chris Murphy
Since January 20th Trump’s approval rating with Independents has swung 13 points to the downside. Independents give Trump just a 37% approval rating and fully 54% of Independents now disapprove of him. The swings are even worse on Trump’s job approval on how he is handling the economy. Overall his job approval has swung 16 points and he is now underwater with all voters, including a 32 point swing among Hispanics, a 27-point swing with young voters 18-29, and 24-points swing with Independents. For those who say you can’t trust polls, the Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index has fallen to a 45-year low. Consumer sentiment is confirming what these poll numbers are saying. Tariffs on and off and on, deporting people many of whom harvest our crops, bird flu, DOGE, and chaos are not helping the economy or helping people with the cost of living.
Last night, DOJ Barbie announced that Maladministration II would refuse to provide additional information in the Venezuelan rendition cases, citing the “State Secrets Act.” Read my post from a week ago about the bullshit use of this bullshit “theory” used to hide governmental lies and incompetence.
From the Department of PINO & Elmo Get Smacked Again: U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman found Monday that Maladministration II likely violated federal privacy laws when it granted DOGE access to “personally identifiable information” at the Department of the Treasury, the Department of Education (DOE), and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). She went on to block access by Elmo and the Anti-Social Teenage Mutant Ninja Basement Dwellers at all three agencies. In a 68-page ruling, Boardman cited the Privacy Act of 1974, which put strict limits on data that government agencies can share. “Congress’s concern back then was that ‘every detail of our personal lives can be assembled instantly for use by a single bureaucrat or institution. No matter how important or urgent the President’s DOGE agenda may be, federal agencies must execute it in accordance with the law. That likely did not happen in this case.” The preliminary injunction follows a temporary restraining order Boardman issued in February blocking DOGE from accessing sensitive information at the OPM and Education Department
From the Department of SECDRUNK Hegseth Is A Drooling Moron: SECDRUNK Hegseth must have tied one on the night before that had him still drunk in the morning to do this: he texted the editor of The Atlantic key details of the U.S. plan to bomb Houthi targets across Yemen - including weapons used, targets, and timing - two hours ahead of the attacks. Jeffrey Goldberg was included on a text chain on Signal that also appeared to be used by such senior Trump administration officials as Vice President Vance, national security adviser Mike Waltz, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and Hegseth.
Goldberg claimed Waltz connected with him on Signal on March 11 and two days later he was invited to join a chain called the “Houthi PC small group,” in which they discussed strikes against the Houthi militant group in Yemen which began on March 15 - unaware of his presence in the group. He initially had strong doubts the text group was real, “because I could not believe that the national-security leadership of the United States would communicate on Signal about imminent war plans.” He also “could not believe that the national security adviser to the president would be so reckless as to include him in the discussions with senior U.S. officials.” “This appears to be an authentic message chain, and we are reviewing how an inadvertent number was added to the chain,” wrote Brian Hughes, the spokesman for the National Security Council. “The thread is a demonstration of the deep and thoughtful policy coordination between senior officials. The ongoing success of the Houthi operation demonstrates that there were no threats to troops or national security.” SECDRUNK himself said ,“Nobody was texting war plans, and that’s all I have to say about that.” He then Goldberg “a deceitful and highly discredited, so-called journalist who’s made a profession of peddling hoaxes time and time again.” (Political language is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.) Rep. Seth Moulton (D-MA): “Incompetence so severe that it could have gotten Americans killed. There is no world in which this information should have been shared in non-secure channels. Hegseth is in so far over his head that he is a danger to this country and our men and women in uniform. He needs to explain himself to Congress and be held accountable.” It just so happens that DNI Tulsi Gabbard is scheduled to testify before the Senate Intel Committee today. That has suddenly been turned into the day’s hot event. Timothy Snyder posted: “These guys inherited one of the most functional state apparatus in the history of the world and they are inhabiting it like a crack house.” Zachary B. Wolf of CNN noted that “Trump intentionally hired amateurs for top jobs. This is their most dramatic blunder.” Not only amateurs, but fifth-rate amateurs. In other words, his intellectual equals. Borowitz: "Americans Demand Breathalyzer Be Attached to Pete Hegseth’s Phone."
From the Department of These People Are Too Fucking Dumb To Exist On Their Own: The ACLU has filed a sworn affidavit from a Venezuelan woman who was on the migrant flight to El Salvador where she says she heard ICE officials on the plane talking about the court order which had been issued telling them to turn the plane around. That would prove that DOJ lied in court when they claimed they had no knowledge of the order. This affidavit is going to result in the judge hauling the ICE agents into court and putting them under oath. They can’t hide behind PINO’s Cracker Jack box lawyers anymore. Immigration expert Aaron Reichlin-Melnick: “She had a pending asylum hearing, ICE agents lied and told her she was being sent to Venezuela, and she was never given any opportunity to present evidence that she was falsely accused.” Professional Idiot Brian Kilmeade says people who ICE wants to deport should not get any due process before they are put on a plane: "It's not practical to think we can do due process on 8 million people. If we're gonna give every one of these guys a day in a court and a lawyer, we can't do it. And they don't deserve it."
From the Department of PINO Proves His Moron Stupidity With Every Move He Makes: PINO Pantsload decided to dump his US Attorney nominee for New Jersey and give the guy the ambassadorship to Namibia. This was done so he could make this statement: “It is with great pleasure that I am announcing Alina Habba, who is currently serving as Counselor to the President, and has represented me for a long time, will be our interim US Attorney for the District of NJ, her Home State, effective immediately!” Alina Habba No Brain is commonly considered the most incompetent of the crew of legal incompetents PINO was stuck with during his trials last year. Habba: “I am honored to serve my home state of New Jersey as Interim U.S. Attorney and I am grateful to President Trump for entrusting me with this tremendous responsibility. Just like I did during my time as President Trump’s personal attorney, I will continue to fight for truth and justice. We will end the weaponization of justice, once and for all.” That we have to consider this collection of dimbulbs the Threat As Serious As A Heart Attack that they are is fucking embarrassing.
From the Department of The Average MAGAt Doesn’t Have A Brain: Trump supporter Rick Fuze was arrested in Berkeley for assaulting peaceful protestors with a taser outside a Tesla dealership on Saturday. Fuze later said he believed the group were protestors paid by George Soros and he wanted to show his support for Elon Musk and DOGE. Before the cops could get to him, the protestor he assaulted grabbed Fuze’s hair and put him face first into a nearby car. He was probably lucky the cops got there to save him from her at that point, because she wasn’t having it. Beaten up by a girl, you stupid as fuck piece of embarrassing shit. In Florida, another MAGAt genius, Andrew Dutil, was arrested in West Palm Beach for aggravated assault after he drove his car onto a curb towards over 100 protestors outside a Tesla dealership, almost hitting them before they jumped out of the way. Palm Beach Post reported Dutil’s Facebook account was full of Trump, Vance, and MAGA content. Protest organizer Mark Offerman, from the Democratic Progressive Caucus: "He drove into a crowd of senior citizens. Everybody was able to move out, but two older women were really almost clipped. We immediately called the cops.” This is what happens when Life’s Losers Since Birth are let out of detention.
From the Department of Elmo Is Really Scared Now: AOC responded to Elmo’s claim that Democrats are flying the same group of paid protesters around to his dealerships: “Someone’s butthurt. At the very least you can find a new, more interesting conspiracy theory to peddle.” Law Barbie Blonde Bimbo Airhead decided to threaten Jasmine Crockett. Pam Bondi went on Faux to say of Jasmine Crockett that she better "tread very carefully," after she announced she was helping to organize a nationwide protest of Tesla dealerships on her birthday, March 29: "She is an elected public official, so she needs to tread very carefully because nothing will happen to Elon Musk, and we are going to fight to protect all the Tesla owners throughout this country.” Are all Floridumb Blonde Bimbo Airheads this fucking stupid? Crockett appeared shortly thereafter on MSNBC and said: “I have never promoted violence whatsoever, yet I’ve also never made excuse for those violent actors such as the ones on January 6. So Pam Bondi, if you have an issue with terrorism, maybe you should talk to your boss about locking back up those guys that he let out that participated in January 6.”
From the Department of Senile Old Fatfuck Steps On His Mushwoom Again: PINO Pantsload announced a “secondary tariff” will be imposed on Venezuela next week - any country that buys their oil will be hit with a blanket 25% tariff from the US: “Venezuela has purposefully and deceitfully sent to the US, undercover, tens of thousands of high level, and other, criminals, many of whom are murderers and people of a very violent nature. In addition, Venezuela has been very hostile to the US and the Freedoms which we espouse. Therefore, any Country that purchases Oil and/or Gas from Venezuela will be forced to pay a Tariff of 25% to the US on any Trade they do with our Country.” Venezuela’s two biggest customers for their oil are China and India.
The good news for today:
From the Department of This Is How Bad It Is For The Fuckwits: Two months of Pantsload’s ass-clownery with the economy and government has resulted in the GOP now worrying they will lose a special election for a seat held by Michael Walz, the Trump-supporter who won it by 30 points last November, before he became a complete Ass-Clown as National Security Advisor. Jake Sherman of Punchbowl News posted on X: “Just a massively stunning cash disparity in FL-6, where there will be a special next week to replace @michaelgwaltz. Democrat Josh Weil raised $9M and has $1.2M on hand. Republican Randy Fine raised $987,759 and has $92,693 on hand. This is a district Waltz and Trump won by 30. Republicans on the Hill and in W.H. are getting a bit worried about this seat.” If the Confederates hold on to the seat but lose 20 points from their level less than six months ago, it will be a sign of a significant shift against PINO & The Ass-Clowns. A Democratic win would be a political earthquake, that would send PINO and his party into a complete panic. Even with a large fundraising advantage, it remains an uphill climb to flip the FL-06 seat, but a strong showing should let Republicans know they are in big trouble. Conservative news website Florida’s Voice: “Florida Dems are holding their own against Republicans in Florida’s 6th Congress District early voting, according to current data. The early vote turnout – which includes mail and in-person voting – rests at just R+0.5 points. Each party has turned out about 20,000 voters, while no party affiliation and “other” account for around 7,000 voters.” It’s still a longshot for Weil, who is likely getting a big percentage of the indy vote over highly controversial and obnoxious Fine. If he even keeps this to a single-digit loss that would rattle Mike Johnson quite a bit. (And a boy can dream: win all three of the special elections, and it’s Mr. Speaker Jeffries. Followed by articles for the Third Impeachment.)
From the Department of How Fucking Stupid Are The MAGAts? This Fucking Stupid: Blue Rose Researcdh did a study of 2024 Trumpscum voters and discovered... wait for it... that most of them are too fucking stupid to be allowed outside on their own. On the issues that are most important to them, GOP voters are quite simply living in an alternate reality with little or no basis in fact. MAGA voters say they trust Trump and the GOP more than Democrats to protect and preserve Social Security. The same gaslighting goes on in other areas that voters say are important to them. For instance, MAGA voters trust Trump and the GOP more than Democrats on protecting our civil liberties. MAGA voters even say they trust Trump’s GOP more than the Democrats on the willingness to find common ground surrounding big political divisions.
A final thought:
Don’t wait for anyone to save us. If our Constitution and our democracy are to be saved, it will be the people to the rescue. That means all of us. Why us? Because we can not lose faith in our own power. And you have plenty of power

Your coverage is just awesome. And your presentation fits my mood exactly. Thank you so much! Your kitties seem to be enjoying themselves. How lucky for them.
Thanks for ruining another of my days, but in a good way, Tom. That gurgle, gurgle, swig, swig sound I heard last night had to be coming from the Hegseth house, and predictably, the wingers are minimizing or outright denying. And I hope they keep it up because this security leak was so egregious that even the control freaks on the right may silently hang their heads and change the channel and/or radio station, just possibly suspecting that they have been lied to with less finesse than when their crumb-faced kids deny having been in the cookie jar. (It's wishful thinking, but the idiocy is steadily becoming even too idiotic for idiots.)
